    Minifig Maps - Portuguese Territories

Congratulations, nice work!!! Just one thing or two: - Forgot the colonies at the north of Africa (Ceuta, etc...) conquered in the 15th century ;) - The european map is good, but for a portuguese this map is not that much useful. For "us" the european map is centered on the atlantic, and includes North of Africa, A

    Best Brickshelf folders

I have been saving some brickshelf folders, from all my friends, coleagues or just some interesting moc's and other stuff I found. It was usual for me to do this before, but now I got a new "boost"... so i saved the following brickshelf pages: 000 0937Community Alexolim ambs Athos Auricom AVCampos bhamilto1 blu3-fir3 blueblock0937 chadzicz Clarki Conchas crowkillers DanielHall danielpc davidazevedo drclark1 Einon17 elalfreddo evildead Federico074 figueifoto gijoe43 gsantos Hendrik681 Jarvin JayFields jeroenvandorst jorgereis LBaixinho LennyLumas loco luckferraro ludo-soete luists MagnusLauglo MariaSofia mclaren11 mic9999 Namath NunoLino nxtpt obscurance Patuara PCastanho pedroagnelo peterlmorris PLUG PocasNuckie PSilva puffypolo79 redskin ribatagus rogerthegogogoPt Romas ruialmeida rupi sergio Steen sugegasa tbaixinho Triathletus ValkyrieVF1 WillM xico666 My friends from the 0937 Comunity are also saving brickshelf pages to "save the past" (in this topic) http://forum0937.miniancora.com/index.php?topic=1771.0 notice that my intention is "saving the past before it's too late", nothing else... i will respect the copyright from all the pics and their owners.

    A completley new, orignal idea!!!

Transformers are simply... MY CHILDHOOD HEROES!!! :-D And I still remember when I was young to make Lego-Transformers.... Unfortunately I didn't had much hinges, and back then there was no locking hinges what so ever! So they worked... but never hold steady. (unfortunately, no pics from that time... that was almost 20 years ago... That changed now... and because of my favourite heroes return, there will be a massive hinge order at pick-a-brick soon... :-$ *yoda* ... the idea, never forgotten it was hmm hmmm rebuild it I must! *yoda* Let me just say that the movie was POWERFULL, and did not disapointed this fan, as other movies from characters and stories did, when they changed for the "big screen" There is one thing I must say: THE BAD EXAMPLE AT THE END!!! DUMP THINGS IN THE OCEAN IS WRONG!!!! >:-( OK, it's to seal the "bad" bla bla bla... WHY NOT MELT IT DOWN IN A STEEL FACTORY??? OR SEND IT INSIDE A VOLCANO! Anything is better than the bad example of throw trash into the ocean!!!! by the way, in 1987 Lego created a "kind-a-transformer" in technic: 8852

The NEW 7 Wonders of the World

One thing one has to ask himself is: "do you know the concept behind the 7 wonders of the world?" Most people don't... The 7 wonders of the world could be considered the first tourist guide in the world, created by Herodotus, a greek philosopher... He elected the 7 greatest wonders of the world of his time. They were: The Pyramids - Egypt The Collossus - Rhodes The Hanging Gardens - Babylon The Statue of Zeus - Olympia The Great Lighthouse - Alexandria The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus - Bodrum The Temple of Artemis - Ephesus These were the greatest achievements of their time, in human construction of course... The only survivour today is the Pyramids, that still hold against time 5000 years later (!) because it was one of the "ancient" ones, it was not added to this voting. The choice of only 7 was to make the same number as the ancient ones... These 7 wonders election was made by voting, mostly online... So we cannot consider it an imparcial thing ot that people only voted once(!). Plus, mixing Eiffel Tower with Stonehenge with the Opera of Sidney with Taj Mahal is less than... stupid! :P As someone said before, they should be divided in 3, or at least 2 categories: Ancient times (<1500ad) and modern times (>1500ad), voting 7 for each of the categories. The Statue of Christ Redeemer is the best example of what a non-imparcial vote can do... I guess there were more brazilians busy voting in their icon (which, comparing to others, no offense...it's just not that special) than anyone else, so it was elected... but put it asideof the wall of China... Please! To me this show was just a "show-off", one more, done in Portugal. I am portuguese, and honestly... There was no "advantage" of making it here, it's just another show... QUITE EXPENSIVE by the way: 150

    Ribatagus - Vasco Serranho

Yes you got it pretty close! just turned 28 last 15th may X-D 6080 was the inspiration of all my built castles of my "ancient times", and the construction still survived the "shadow times" *sweet* (that and all my MOC's from that time are still boxed... ) The worst thing i remember from those times was to count every single piece in order to have enough to make it... feels so good not to have that problem anymore! :-D (I love to impersonate yoda's voice... i have to do this here too ) :-$ *yoda* now a eurobricks member I am, take pictures of my MOC's I must, hmmhmm... here goes my first MOC: The road-building machines! :D http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=10318

    Road building machines

Hi there!!! Here goes my first MOC for this seccion: THE ROAD BUILDING MACHINES!!! I was seak of so much dumpers and other sets, all the same... no new machines... so I build my own, "old school" style :D http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=196099 or in my personal website (only portuguese version for now): http://vasser.no.sapo.pt/lego This "MOC" is divided into 4 machines, but i can't say their names in english! Feel free to help give the right names for me! :D This is the result of seeing some construction work in front of my workplace...as i was waiting for the transport home, i took pics... came home, and created them!!! it took me a week to finish it (one hour a day) but i loved the final outcome!!! Hope you like it, and feel free to comment!!!

Imperial Trading Post vs Eldorado Fortress

(first of all Hi everyone! Here's another Pirate Fan presenting!) The choice is quite hard... both of these sets are amazing... But the features of the imperial trading post (the 2 separated areas, the docks, and that lovely small ship) defined my choice... i just LOVE THAT SET! *wub* Too bad i don't have it... yet ;-)
  15. Greetings!!! My name is Vasco Serranho, and I'm from Portugal! :-$ My lego life started when i was 6 years old and the castle 6080 entered my house (b-day gift for my big and only brother)... That same day we divided the pieces in hald, the construction began, and the imagination never stopped! :D Everyday I was creating new stuff, and that was the only toy I never got bored of it!!! Since then, every birthday, christmas or any ocasion to give me a gift, the question was never "what do you want for a present?" but always "what LEGO you want for a present?" :-D I never had a real dark age, although there was a time that my enthusiasm with Lego was not so big, due to having lack of pieces, and the new sets were kinda disapointing >:-( (Pirates and castle were over, juniorization, the sets disapeared from the store shelves, etc...). Add that to the University and house improvements that made my collection to be stored in boxes, and you can guess the result... :'-( Summer 2005 was the rebirth of my collection. :'-) I met some people that introduced me to ebay and bricklink stores, the internet Lego user groups and forums. Also presented me to PLUG - the Portuguese Lego User Group, wich I joined in december that same year. ... soon the less-than-10kg box of sorted pieces expanded to a set of drawers and boxes with elements divided by category, shape and colour, and over new sets that filled the rest of the room, with Lego up to the roof! :-| My mocs began to appear once again, and i never stopped so far!!! I have now an adorable collection of original sets, and a respectable quantity of kilos of pieces in organized drawers, and a lot of MOC's and MOD's of my own... most of them I haven't took pictures yet, but soon I expect to update my webpage and my brickshelf page with all my creations :D My preferences are... ALL FOR MINIFIGS!!! I love all Lego, but my favorite scale is always minifig-scale. I love to include technic aplications for this scale too! X-D but of course I have a special place for some of the themes: Pirates, Castle (classic), Space (M:tron is my favorite), City (4-wide), Monorail and others... Feel free to comment my creations on my websites!!! e-mail: dj_vasser@yahoo.co.uk msn: dj_vasser@hotmail.com Hi5: http://vasser.hi5.com/ Lego Collection website: http://vasser.no.sapo.pt/lego brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=ribatagus
