My character for hero factory. I made one for each series, partly because through sheer luck, I selected blue as his main color and that always got used in the series itself, so I got lots of good parts. He started with a 2.0 style hero recon set. His power is energy absorption/redirection, hence the glowing armor.
1.0
Lightly modified 1.0 frame with a cool gun. I'm really happy with it, despite the simplicity
2.0
My Hero recon set, with minor alterations to compensate for the hero recon builder's limitations.
3.0
I saw stringers helmet and thought "predator!" right off the bat. So Radon 3.0 ended up being a predator homage with a spear, wrist blades, and shoulder cannon with independent tracking.
Breakout Radon
This guy has a space marine vibe, with 2 awesome weapons, and lots of armor. I didn't like the breakout/superhero torso much, so I stuck with the 2.0 chest. He has the newer hero core on his back as a backup
Radon XL
Brain Attack was where I started running out of steam, this guy is obviously a furno mod, but I liked that years furno alot. The cape is connected way better, sword is awesome, much cleaner, and condensed compared to furno
A fun group shot. And I didn't forget Invasion from below:
No mech, cause bionicle g2 became a thing (and now its gone)

16 hours ago, The Outsider said:So, question about the combi-models, specifically the list of sets needed for Shadow Titan Makuta: can I build Mask Maker Makuta from the leftover parts of that combi-model, or are there not enough pieces? What about the Shadow Spawn?
You can get really close, but you need some extra gears and ball pieces since the model uses all of them. But you will have all the trans purple and ekimu armor left over. My whole entry for the makuta contest was made mostly with leftover parts from the combiner (http://antak3000.deviantart.com/art/Makuta-the-Destroyer-634612399)
No idea on the spawn though, didn't make one. But you end up with a massive pile of parts, I got a lot of mileage out of them.

Looks good! Glad the paint worked out for you!
@Shakar. Its just the standard black strong and flexible.
I too am curious about the hi-def achryllic, I'd love a smooth mask, but not sure if its worth that much to me... I need money for food and rahkshi parts

2 hours ago, PrimoUltimo said:I never earlier painted so small objects with not spray paint, you have some advices? which brush to use?
I just used one of the larger brushes from citadel. They're around 8 bucks and decent, if overpriced. If you have a craft store around you, look in their paint brush section, you want a small to medium sized brush with soft bristles, I have some vienna Artists Loft brushes too, think it was like, 4$. I like the ones that come to a point myself. The Paint is water soluble, so just rinse the brush off in water. test on an expendable surface first to get the hang of it.
Like I said, its a layer paint, so you may need more than one coat. The gold paint you already applied will help a lot, so you wont get black showing through. Avoid painting contact points between the mask and head too much, since it'll rub off if its too thick.
I used a krylon Matte coat on mine as well, just to protect it. Its doesn't change the paint color though, but it keeps paint on the sharp edges better

But I couldn't find gold like lego, so I just used normal gold paint in spray.Gallery: http://imgur.com/a/uQNzj
Use Citadel's Auric Gold paint. You can find it at most game stores, and its a perfect match. Its a layer paint, so it'll look great if you apply it over the gold you just did

Yeah, I, moved it to kurahk, It looked like his original spine. But the new one is definitely thinner than I want. any suggestions on parts?
-
oh, cool. that would fix his stiff ankles. thanks!
-
Okay, changed the spine, and took slightly better pictures.
-
The next in my rahkshi project was Kurahk. He has a similar build to Turahk, but with a better color layout, more elaborate staff, Longer legs. The staff is modeled after the classic kurahk's, And despite the gold, so is the spine. It has the usual waist function, flight mode, and dual function staff. Sorry for the cluttered background, doing a model commission for someone.
I made a new spine for Turahk, This guy got the old one, which was closer to g1 kurahk's spine anyway. I need to go through bricklink and see which bones are available in white, it would make the legs look nicer.
Next up is Gurahk in Blue, silver, and transparent orange. Planning a Density Control Rahkshi too, lewa green + black and med. trans green would look awesome

I loved galaxy Squad! But there was a lot of it on clearance in my area. I ended up getting duplicates of all the smaller sets, but most of the clearanced sets also hung around for months. Unfortunately, I think its less about viability of lego space and more about being out competed by lego star wars.
-
Thank you! You can get pretty close to a saucer, but I honestly never even thought about making one... Hmm
This is actually what the ship looked like when I started
-
Here's my mods, I didn't do skull warrior because I like him too much
Slicer got actual armor, no more trans orange, and an extra sword. He looks pretty good without all the gaps
I kept LoSS basic design but beefed him up and adjusted the build on its legs to fit in a pair of mandibles that can actually grab stuff. He's also got a socket on his back for the Golden Spider Mask. Armor plates slide over the socket when the mask is taken out.
I also got rid of basher's transparent orange and made his axes more interesting. I gave him the minotaur legs I saw from a user here. I'm really sorry, but I can't seem to find the picture.
Scorpio got the most attention, with a fully articulated tail, fully articulated legs, better pincers, and a new admittedly less fun tail rubber band gimmick. But he looks AWESOME
Kulta got longer legs and arms, a much better sword that can store on his back, animation style, the gaps in his torso were filled in, and there are 3 friction gears in each shoulder now.
-
Here's mine, I filled in the gaps in the chest (also added crystals armor to the back) and redid the head with the jaw further back and higher up, with drastically shortened horns to emulate the mask of control.
Also, did anyone else notice how good the Umarak mask Ekimu has looks on this guy?
-
That's okay, I got a more interesting picture
Though the shadows make my design look fat
-
Dragon Bolt, and Brain Attack Furno. Seriously the only furno with an interesting look. I also think Black Phantom was amazing

A project of three years or so (not continuous), this ship has gone from average size to just under three feet. The UFO series was one of my favorites growing up, so after going through my old legos and putting the sets back together, I started building this monstrosity. It breaks apart into 23 different pieces, many of which are designed to function indepedently, and all parts are modular. The Ship has electronics integrated in the middle, with a 9 volt motor, a 9 volt battery box, the old fiber optic assembly, and the double flashing light brick. It has a crew of 13, 1 of each classic alien, 3 of each robot, and 4 custom figures. There's also a pile of weapons, all stored on the ship in various places.
r.
If anyone is interested, I will post more pictures, as there are a lot of details packed into each part of this model, and I didn't want to flood the topic in pictures
-
Oh, cool. I'll keep my eye out for itThank you guys. (:
I've seen this one, yeah, and I'm actually currently working on my own version. I plan on making two versions, the first one as a single part, and another one as two parts that can be attached together (so the upper half won't really be able to connect to the old one, I'll rather redesign the G1 Vahi). They will both be designed for the G2 head. I want to use it for a diorama of the Protectors summoning the Toa for an exhibition late November, so you can expect to see it in the next couple of months.
Well, yeah, I guess, but it will take some time. I have to make the Vahi in priority, and then I'll work on some other parts, which include armour and add-on pieces (both requests and personal ideas). I have too many things to do and too little time.

This guy just replaced voltrahk as my favorite. Colors are amazing, and staff is everything I wanted it to be. I was originally going to replicate the planetary gear system JTO makuta had in his staff, but realized there wasn't a good way to condense it. so I went with light and cool looking instead. Staff tips spin, which is awesome with the vortex print on those trans-purple dishes. The staff looks really good split into 2 and folds under the body like thrusters in flight mode. Plus I got to use a bunch of dark blue and trans purple. The out of place looking kraata is a stage 4 gravity control.
Now to begin a Kurahk (I'm going by which rahkshi head colors have a reasonable amount of corresponding ccbs parts)
-
Finished Turahk and Neutrahk today, I apologize ahead of time for photo quality here. I used a lot of red here, my camera doesn't like bright red. It has the same frame as the other 3, but with different chest armor, kraata chamber details, and an altered spine build to accommodate the lack of red 4 size plates. Staff is a nifty design based loosely on the original turahk staff, the shooter frame is just for show but it spins and looks cool. The 1.0 hero foot looks good but is frustrating to pose with, wish the small claw foot was available in more colors.
As always, feed back is welcome!
-
that would be awesome. That material looks perfect for a smooth black mask
-
they have acryllic, but its softer so I don't know how good it would be. The clear ultra detail generally looks smoother. the matte is a result of the printing process though, so there will always be a texture unless you buy the hideously expensive cast metal masks. I'd go with the black strong and flexible with 2 or three coats of whatever color you want it to be, spraypaint starts to smooth the design out a little.
-
I drastically shortened the horns on mine, mostly because I hate the hollow horn pieces they used. The small gold spiderleg/bone/horn actually looks a lot horns on the Mask of control. What did you do with his lower jaw?

I've seen those ball joint pieces on shapeways, nice work. I really want a mask of time for g2 that interlocks with the old one. weirdly, the only one anyone's made is designed for the old head.

Thanks! I try to keep mocs for a theme looking like they belong in that theme, and with this guy it was really fun to try out different styles.
The sets in hero factory were really good up until they cut the budget. The story was really bland though...
