I was just wondering how come there are over 5500 bricks at yours. Seemed impossible unless you used just 1x1 plates inside :) Now that explains everything. Thx. Have you tried to fix it with rebrickable?

lol i tried a few times and gave up.

i even state there to contact me for the parts list instead. not sure why it **** up every time just for that one.

  2. Well done!

Was hoping for a cockpit/screen solution but i guess its quite limited with parts.

You painted some of the parts? The dome and tiles?

Great design. I love all the roundness of it.

I was naturally comparing it to dmarkng's one. Of course it's just my opinion, but yours is no question much better. It is also very interesting, that the piece count of yours is 1541; dmarkng's over 5500 whilst they seem to be pretty the same size.

Anyways - I would be very happy to have it in my collection. Waiting for the instructions!

Can you estimate the cost of the bricks necessary?

Not sure why but rebrickable has that piece count.

My current one with Interior + Stand sits at 1500+

Then they better come with some official builds.

Cause most of the time the community brings much more amazing models.

And even official models can be better with some changes made...

Well TLG works within some rules of building which the rest of us dont =p

It's been such a long time that I want to do the XJ6 Speeder with UCS treatment.

    I like your version.

You might consider uploading pictures on FlickR. Not everyone uses instagram...

Thanks. I dont use flickr any more, except when some1 alerted me to reply your message =p

The colours give you eye cancer and i love it. It feels right and the build is superb!

I've actually been building vehicles with more colour in the past 1-2 years as I stocked so much LBG and DBG at one point that it just looked so boring having all the ships in one colour =p
That with the fact that a lot of the TLG's bigger UCS sets are generally LBG based.

I honestly thought the windshield on the Koro-2 was too wide, but I looked it up and you're spot on! Great job man, they really look the part.

Its really tough doing the windshields for most builds as the trans-clear/black parts are really limited for cockpits and the like. I'm hoping there are some better options that I may have missed out when looking around.

  5. I built this months back. They are my 4th and 5th speeders (brick built) in this UCS style builds.
I have a couple more speeder builds digitally designed and hopefully I have the time to build them this year.

The initial XJ6 was influenced by another builder Bryant and was relatively simple to build compare to the Koro-2.
For the Koro-2 I had a lot of issues doing the cockpit and later the weight of the front 2 mandibles. But it came out better than expected in brick form.

There are more pics on the IG links as I cant get multiple links for one IG post.

Looks good........do you know if there are any hard to find/expensive pieces for this model?

There sure are a lot of cylinders!!

    Thanks =)
Hopefully the parts list will be approved soon, taking longer than usual.

But no, there arent any rare pieces. I do keep cost in consideration when I build, so I stay away from rare pieces where I can, or use alts if possible.

It cost in the 300-400 range for all parts. I've also colour coded parts that can be substituted.

  7. Wanted it bigger , so I went with a 1/125 scale, but based off an estimated length since there wasn't any real info on the ship.

1/250 woulda made it in the 45cm range.

    Even now I can't find anything =/

@ecmo47 I believe there are quite a few smaller ones at your scale mate.

I've seen some on eBay too at the 40-45cm range.

  8. Sorry I havent logged in for awhile.

@Cyh Naan Yea I did consider that, and I could redo it with just some white bricks but I'll leave it for now. Maybe later one =)

I've added 6 escape pods to it, 4th engine up top.
Wasn't entirely necessary, but I put a stand with a sticker plague, will get it printed once the sticker is done.

It's a lot easier to move about than I expected.
Just need to detach the bottom engine for some grip, and I can carry it around.
Need to find adequate space for it as its about 90cm.

I got more pics on flickr and put it up on IDEAs, though I know its a licensed piece and all that comes with that =p...

  9. Very nice MOC.

Don't think I've come across this fighter before, had to find more images of it.

Very nice. I am wondering though, how did you make such a great sticker for it? Particularly the 'blueprint style' representation of the ship. Do you do that via LDD, or how?

For stickers, I'm not sure how others do it, but I'll grab a picture off LDD, and then photoshop it through a few steps (greyscale, inverting image, dodge/colour functions, then sharpening etc). Similar to how you would do a pencil sketch off a picture.
