I mean, I'm sure a lot of people would be happy with a microscale Rivendell. Don't they count as fans? I agree that TLG has been dropping the ball frequently lately. But depending on how it looks it seems a bit premature to write it of as a Black-Panther-Bust/Hulkbuster-sized misstep. Admittedly the existence of the Brickheadz is pretty ridiculous. I don't respect anyone who collects Funkos and the like.

I haven't watched a Shrek movie in, wow... almost a decade? But that house looks instantly recognisable. Nice job. -
People seem pretty split on microscale vs minifigscale. Personally I'm just gonna wait till we get a look. Microscale would need to look incredible, or at least decent (but with minifigures) for me to be interested. And sure, a minifigscale set couldn't do the whole location justice with 6000 pieces, but one section with a lot of detail would be pretty nice. Though I'm not holding my breath considering how half-a**ed most of the big releases were these past two years. When there's one every month, the quality is just bound to drop off :/ If I'm honest, what I want the most is just a chance to complete my Fellowship. Everything else I don't mind building myself. I don't think so. I generally don't see a lot of love for Atlantis, which Is why I am lucky that it's my favourite theme since childhood and that the sets are found sealed fairly easily. I don't think I want to get a full collection since one of the rarer sets is one I never cared for, but I am currently collecting all the ones I wanted as a kid, and even multiple copies of the sets I had since they're still so cheap. If I wanted to get a full, sealed LotR collection now, how much would that set me back? 2000-3000 bucks? Not even including the Hobbit sets. That's madness!

[MOC] The Lucky Seashell: a three-mast privateer barque (playset)
Alegrispa replied to Legostein's topic in Pirate MOCs
So you're the guy who bought all those Indiana Jones cloth covers in Europe! Nice build though. Looks like a classic set. -
They're insane everywhere else too. The pandemic really f****** the aftermarket for licensed themes. And guess what year I finally got adult money... At least I can find Atlantis sets easily and close to MSRP.

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Alegrispa replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
So I just saw on reddit that in February there were some rumours about a LEGO/2K Football(Soccer) game? Which would explain the polybag since 2K doesn't currently have any Football games. Anyone here remember reading about that? -

Man, I hope so. She looks amazing! -
Y'all, as much as I love Lord of the Rings, and despite Amazons efforts, fact is that it just isn't as prevalent in the current Zeitgeist as it was 10 years ago when the Hobbit movies released, and that it something a massive, for-profit company like The LEGO Group takes into consideration. Personally I doubt we got a whole line of sets coming. I'd love to be completely wrong about this, but that's just where I think we're at right now.

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion

Oooh! A twist! I am wildly curious what this theme might entail, and I'm really hoping this isn't just a one-off promotional polybag. -

Looks great! -
Unlikely. C'mon, I wasn't being serious. No need to take it so personally, it's a great build. Valid reasons. And frankly it's weird for you remember that and to bring it up here. Let's stay on topic.
-
Yikes, dude. All that dust is disgusting. I mean, you couldn't even just blow on it before you took the pictures? Geez.
-
Definitely a good point, but this could just an issue with production timing. Since these are the first sets to release (because Brickheadz are the easiest to design and produce) they likely pushed them before production on all-new moulds was ready. The original Sting mould is long gone by now, so they probably just weren't available for this set.

They're citing leaky_minifigure as a source. This is not further confirmation.
-
Two massive LotR in the same year? One for 500 and one for close to 700? Seems a little much to start with, and wouldn't that also split set profits? Yeah, Idk. Seems like a bogus leak, but the account that broke it seemingly hasn't posted anything crazy or obviously fake before, although it does mostly appear to be second hand information. So maybe they're being duped a fake source or they're messing with us. Fake leaks are all too common. I don't doubt the theme is coming back, just this particular rumour. EDIT: Yeah, never mind. Am dumba*s.

Oh my! That is gorgeous!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Alegrispa replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I wonder if they're open to more Classic Spacemen variants in the future. I'd love one in dark red or dark blue. Maybe even one in sand green or tan! Oh heck, I want all the colours! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
Alegrispa replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I really like this series. I'm probably gonna get at least half the figures, as opposed to the current (weirdly holiday-themed) series of which I'm only interested in two. 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 12 definitely, 4 and 8 are a maybe. -
...wow. Big surprise, Chris Pratt just sounds like Chris Pratt. I hate it.

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Alegrispa replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Indiana Jones, LotR, Bionicle. Just when I swore off LEGO, the b*stards pulled me back in! Now I just want a new underwater-adventure theme, mining-adventure theme, and an original space theme, then they're golden. -
I couldn't care less about the movie, but the character models are pretty close to the games, and even though movie-Mario looks weird, the differences are so minute the LEGO figure could look just like both the movie and game model. I feel like like my phrasing is off, but I'm too tired rn to try to do better, I hope I get my point across. I also wonder if the Minions sets improve or decreased the chances for sets based on this movie. TLG now has a relationship with Illumination, but judging by the sale bins, the Minions sets didn't exactly sell great.

(Hey y'all, I'm just gonna start a LotR topic since there still isn't one for some reason.) This thread is dedicated to all LEGO related The Lord of the Rings (+possibly The Hobbit and The Rings of Power) discussion throughout 2023--sets, rumors, thoughts, and general LEGO The Lord of the Rings discussion. Enjoy! _____________________________________ 40630 | Frodo & Gollum | 14,99€ 40631 | Balrog & Gandalf | 19,99€ D2C set (unverified Promobricks rumour)

The Lord of the Rings 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Alegrispa replied to Alegrispa's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I am aware of that thread, that doesn't explain why there isn't one here where this discussion arguably belongs more than in "Historic" Themes. I made this one because there are people in the Licensed forum who aren't that active in the others and may not see that particular topic. If the mods disagree they can remove this thread, I really don't mind. Your wording makes it sound like this is some sort of scheme.
