    LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion

Sorry if this has already been talked about, but I looked at the Deku Tree set again, and you can clearly see the fern piece from Rivendell in both pictures! I may be mistaken, but I think it's even there in bright green! Idk if this means anything, I just really want them to release this that set. I reckon if they release it any time soon we'll hear about it around May? Man, I just really want it. EDIT: Yup, I just checked and it's already been talked about. I guess I'm getting a little stir crazy waiting for Tears of the Kingdom.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Speaking of the leaks, I'm disappointed by the ark. From the leaked picture it looked like they had made a new angel-statue mould and despite a lacklustre set at least there was that to look forward to, but no. I'm still really torn on these sets overall. I mean, on one hand, I'm really not interested in these sets as a whole. On the other hand it's Indy! And we may not see more of him in LEGO form for a really long time... But still I'm not interested in that Nazi plane, the Lost Tomb just looks awkward, the Temple of Doom set looks awful (and also I never liked the movie), and the Temple of the Golden Idol is somewhat overpriced. But at least that last one doesn't appear to be a retail exclusive, so I may pick it up if it goes on sale. If not then maybe the Lost Tomb, at least to get a new Indy, Marion, Sallah, and a couple of neat stickers.

I miraculously still have that sticker intact! Ditto for all the stickers from that set. They may not have been applied that well since it was one of my first sets and I was a child, but their current condition is surprisingly great.

Yeah, idk. I totally see that happening considering the majority of LEGO designers are white men who may not be entirely sensitive to that sort of thing. Though I could see it being delayed due to structure, from the first leaks I've said it looks poorly designed. Anyways, I wonder if it really is canned they had to delay the other sets to replace all the instructions since they're bound to show the ToD as well. I wonder how expensive that would be.

    Lord of the Rings 2023

Hey, so those movie news are pretty exciting! Not because of the potential movies themselves (honestly who gives a sh*t) but because this could be great news for LEGO Lord of the Rings! I hope Warner Bros pump all the money into those (though who knows with that cheap b*stard Zaslav) and LEGO gets dragged along with a big wave of proper sets! Still gonna be a couple of years, but still.

Honestly, if this sells well and they do decide to make more LotR sets I believe there is a very slim chance for playsets, and they're just gonna release more D2C sets. "Why appeal to younger fans and more fans in general, when we can gorge on the few people willing to spend half a grand on a single set!" - LEGO execs, probably

    Lord of the Rings 2023

C'mon now. Yes, there are plenty of LEGO content creators who can be perceived as irritating, but calling them out like that is very unseemly and childish, not to mention rude as they're all members of our community and frequent sites like Eurobricks as well. Also, they're all released at the same time, because that's the earliest time LEGO allows them to release.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I never said it would "sink Lego", just that it could result in a little bad press. Also, there are normal, average people who feel hurt about offensive portrayals of their culture and people in older media, and there are normal average people who feel uncomfortable with those portrayals despite not being part of that particular people or culture. It's called having empathy. And I reckon I can relate easier since I do belong to a small non-white minority often portrayed very negatively in media, both old and new.

My mistake, looking back they did seem to be mainly upset about the Indy 5 sets, not the ToD set. Sorry @BrickBob Studpants.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

And what explanation are you looking for? Pretty obvious that they cancelled it (if they cancelled it at all) simply to avoid bad press first, and to be sensitive towards a 1.4 billion people second. But sorry you won't get a toy that you really, really wanted.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Lol, they don't owe you or anyone an explanation. It was an unannounced, in-production set that they simply cancelled. LEGO deserves a lot of criticism these days, but this ain't it.

Sure people were complaining, you just didn't care to listen because you were 8 years old and generally not privy to discourse about problematic depictions on non-white people in cinema. And judging by the way you're expressing yourself now, I reckon you're still not mature enough to talk about this.
