As usual, entering on the last day, but at least I'm not minutes from the deadline this time. Great entries so far, very interesting tree building techniques! I am out of town so I don't have access to most of my collection, but took a few bricks and pieces with me so I could create an entry. This is me, my wife, our two kids, and our cats Linus (orange) and Arnold (white) in front of the tree. Since family is important, my ideal tree is one where the family has gathered. I wish all of you a joyful holiday season!

The raffle thread always has a slew of activity in three stages: Entries being posted, winners selected, and then when people start receiving their LEGO. I won last year too and I think it was late February or early March when I received my prize.

This set has trans blue only, no yellow. Source - I have mine sitting on my desk downstairs. :)

My son got this for Christmas and we put it together tonight. I think it is a great set - I like the color scheme, I like the canoe/kayak, and I like the details such as the opening side, the wing mirrors and the storage compartments. I'd agree that it could use a ladder and an actual rear window. However, the build has made my 5 year old very happy!

A few years ago, CopMike did allow swaps prior to prize delivery. IIRC it became more of a hassle than it was worth. Thus, the post-delivery swap arrangements.

This will be a bit of a downer, but I am doing it anyway. My cat Owen was very sick and had to be euthanized on November 21. I decided that my best wish would be for Owen to have a little corner of Cat Heaven to call his own, along with some of the things he enjoyed during his long life. So, I borrowed my daughter's Friends cat because I do not have a yellow one to represent Owen's actual fur color. Owen now has his area which includes a Christmas tree to destroy, a gift with a bow to wreck, a wood floor to slide around on, flowers to munch on, along with bugs to entertain him, a whole fish for dinner, a play area/tower in the middle of the room, a window to look through, and an open door...because cats hate closed ones. Peace on Earth and in the Heavens. Rest in peace, buddy. Thanks for 17 1/2 years of memories.

You can have a FedEx package held for pickup. I've done that for pricey items such as laptops.

I bought the last Jabba's Palace set at my local LEGO store. I had been wanting the set since it was released but hadn't had the money until now. So, I am a happy guy, but now I need the Rancor Pit to go with it. I'll keep my 6210 Sail Barge and rearrange the parts to fit new Jabba in there. Possibly because it is much smaller than the 7675 or 4482 versions?

Ninjago Kai's Fire Mech. Some guy on Reddit had it on his top sets of 2013 list and I thought it was a great design, almost too good for a $10 set.
