  1. I would say that, for the purposes of discussion here, a modular is one of the sets that Lego included in the lineup of modulars when announcing Assembly Square. That did include Market Square. https://ramblingbrick.com/2016/10/18/10255-10-years-of-modular-building/
  2. Officially, no. But a lot of the GWPs do make a reappearance if they don't sell out. For example, the Avengers Tower recently reemerged. I assume Lego is leaving all its big announcements for after the Black Friday sales. I'd expect to see the new Modular announced next week and the CMFs shortly after.
  3. It makes sense. it's a 366 piece GWP so it's logical for Lego to value it around $30.
  4. These sets are definitely aimed at a younger audience (even the non-4+ Spider-Jet). I'm not interested in any of them for the builds, but I guess I'll pick up a couple of the Spider-Man sets to get Noir, Spider-Gwen and Mysterio, since I haven't got round to getting those 2 yet.
  5. There's a difference between showing a building that is used as a hotel and casino, and showing minifigures huddled around a poker or roulette table.
  6. A card game in another location could work, but a fully fledged casino likely couldn't be done.
  7. Lego won't produce a casino. It doesn't line up with their ideals. They can disguise a bar as a pool club that doesn't serve alcohol, but there is no way to pretend that a casino is anything else.
  8. His minifigure would have just been a generic man with a reused head print. I'd rather have him in a comic based set, or one from the new show, where he has his recognisable costume.
  9. They are definitely the most American in terms of style, but the concept is still known worldwide. A "soda shop" isn't something that would sell as well internationally, simply because it isn't a well known concept. Plus we're a bit overrun with eateries so far.
  10. Just that one post, as far as I know. Plus, if the rumour spreads to other sites, chances are it is just people reiterating what was said here. Right now, it's the best (and only) info we have.
  11. Nope, that's another idea I'm not familiar with. If I need snacks I would just go to Tesco or another supermarket. Probably the equivalent of your smaller grocery stores. With the majority of Lego designers being European, I would expect the modular to either have a theme seen in Europe (as with the Petrol station, fire station etc), or be something that is recognisable from American media (like a Diner was) even though it isn't a common feature here.
  12. The risk of something like a museum is the limitations of a 32x32 stud footprint. Something like that could be a great contender for the next anniversary modular, like Assembly Square. Something simple like a bookshop would be nice. It would be good to see something a bit different different. We're fairly overrun with dining options for the minifigs. Some other form of shop or service would be nice.
  13. You seem to take discussion very personally. People aren't trying to crush your hopes and dreams, they're just suggesting that certain ideas may not translate well into a Lego set. A soda shop isn't something that is well known around the world. A diner may be more American themed, but people are aware of the concept. A soda shop simply isn't a concept that a lot of people have heard of.
  14. From the Brick Bank description: "Secretary's office features a wall clock, desk, typewriter, cabinet with opening drawers, fireplace and an espresso machine"
  15. TH definitely seems to be an exception to the rule. All other modulars have a distinctly period feel to them.
  16. It also says: "Even if the exact condition for receiving the exclusive free bonus is not yet known, the pictures look promising." I don't think the person who wrote the article has any idea whatsoever. It seems more likely that they stumbled upon these pictures by pure luck than actually having an official press release from Lego.
  17. It may simply have a minimum spend requirement, rather than being linked to only the D2C set. I can't remember there being many set-specific GWPs. The only ones I can recall are Winter Soldier with the Helicarrier and Mr Freeze with the 1966 Batcave (that one may have been minimum spend, though).
  18. Don't forget that the image is from a duty free shop in an airport. That means it doesn't include tax and the normal sale price would be higher.
  19. Didn't it change because of how quickly the Chinese companies were managing to pump out knockoffs? I'd much prefer a month's notice. It makes it easier to allocate the money for a set. Although I guess they get a lot of impulse purchases with a late reveal. People see it just before release, get excited and buy it right away, whereas with a month to think about it some people may end up not getting the set once the hype dies down. Of course, you're absolutely right. They look incompetent when images of the sets leak a month early and half the time stores are even selling the sets before the announcement.
  20. No, it said that Avengers sales were especially good. "LEGO Marvel Avengers sets performed especially strongly and LEGO Movie 2 products also contributed to consumer sales growth."
  21. You have to bear in mind that the GWP from this competition will not be ready for January. The Space Rocket Ride GWP wasn't released for over a year after the contest ended. If it is intended to align with a modular, it would make more sense for it to relate to the January 2021 release.
  22. Do you genuinely think they came from a legitimate source? You spend enough time looking at Lego products to know they aren't released for 2 months. You know the only images are leaks from factory theft. They're being sold for double the RRP when a legitimate source would be charging the actual price for them.
  23. I'm not a fan of a modular car dealership. As far as I can tell it would be a big, empty space with a lot of parts wasted on the cars. I can't see a way they could make a flat, empty room interesting. Plus, I feel it would end up being a far too modern looking building, rather than the mid-20th century aesthetic we've had fairly consistently so far. Alternatively, it'll just look like a slightly different build of the Corner Diner parts.
