I was inspired by another thread I saw (link below), where a user was displaying custom Marvel super hero minifigures. I realized that their modifications were relatively minimal, and almost all of them could be "puristified" with just some simple substitutions, and thus came the idea for this post. Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell): Either Kristoff's hair or Aquaman's and the Legoland visitor's hair, Captain America's head, the CMF series 16 Wildlife photographer's torso and legs, and the Lord of the Rings' One Ring(s) around his wrists [as his power bands]. Howard Stark (Based on his appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger): 'Where are my Pants?' Guy's, Frank Rock's, and the CMF series 6 Mechanic's hair, Tony Stark's head, J. Jonah Jameson's torso, and plain dark brown legs. Peggy Carter (Based on her appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger): Charlotte/Susan's hair from Friends, Captain Marvel's, Faora's, Maria Hill's, Satele Shan's, and Wonder Woman's head, the CMF series 3 Pilot's torso, and either the CMF series 12 Dino Tracker's legs, the various volcano explorers' legs, or the TMNT Foot Soldiers' legs. INSPIRATION: These designs are based on the ones I saw in this Eurobricks thread. Here is the user's Flickr as well. I only chose the designs that I knew could be made with currently available official parts.

EDIT: Sorry for the HTML vomit, but I can't actually change it. I copied and pasted from my Flickr page, and apparently, the HTML editing stuff here is not the same as there. All of the links, ugly as they are, do work. If you like the 2000's movie style X-Men (in other words, those from X-Men, X2, and X-Men: The Last Stand . . .), use these <a href="http://www.bricklink...or=11#T=C&C=11" rel="nofollow"> hips</a>, this <a href="http://www.bricklink...&C=11#T=C&C=11" rel="nofollow"> torso</a> and these <a href="http://www.bricklink...pb173&name=Hips and Legs with Straps and Buckles Pattern" rel="nofollow">legs</a>. Cyclops: Either of <a href="http://www.bricklink...43753#T=C&C=88" rel="nofollow">these</a> <a href="http://www.bricklink...r=120#T=C&C=88" rel="nofollow"> hairs</a>; this <a href="http://www.bricklink...or=90#T=C&C=90" rel="nofollow"> face</a> for when he ISN'T blasting, and this <a href="http://www.bricklink...or=90#T=C&C=90" rel="nofollow"> face</a> for when he IS. Hulk_Smash, I've considered that too, but Stacy's hair isn't quite as unruly as the one you're talking about. I think that it'll be a great substitute in times of peril, and until I order the other one. I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks very much! :) Nice mini-fig scale Mongul! :O

Although I don't actually have one, based on the pictures I've seen, neither the new Captain George Stacy minifigure's hair nor face do the character justice, mostly because he's usually been depicted with white and wavy [Holy added alliterative appeal, Batman! :P ] hair, and a very stern face, and this rendition has neither. Considering that there is no such Lego hair that I know of, and that Gwen Stacy, his daughter, is a blonde, giving Stacy blond hair instead of his usual white hair isn't that much of a stretch. Based on these criteria, (blond and wavy), there's only one hair that really fits the bill: Gilderoy Lockhart's. As for his face, either one of the Grand Moff Tarkin heads should give his character the stern look he needs. If anyone has these parts, I'd like to see what these combos look like rendered in bricks. Happy building! - TheBigRedCheese

I just tossed this out there, so originally, I wasn't going to make them, but I might. :) Stitch's arms and the Farmer's pants are a great idea, thank you! I will put them to full use for Johnny Storm, but as for Mr. Fantastic, I'm only going to give him the arms, because I want him to have the long boots from Toy Story's Woody, and unfortunately, they don't match Sue's toros, so for the moment I'll stick to just boots for Sue Storm, though I'll definitely keep looking across the board for medium blue torso and such. Thanks a ton! Also, for the record, I didn't know Lego made such a torso either. I just stumbled upon it. :P Happy building, - TheBigRedCheese

I'm not sure if you're off topic either. Huh. :\ :| Either way, here goes. Hair - This, as the photos that I found show her with this hairstyle. Head - This, unless you want to capture a specific expression, in which case, you're on your own. Torso - This. I was going for the look seen here, but you can swap out the torso for whatever look you want to give her. Legs - These. I was going for the look seen here, but like the torso, you can swap out the legs for whatever look you want to give her. (Others that might look good as generic jeans include these, these, these, or these.) EDIT: There are seven varieties of Lego microphones. You choose. :) Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese ANOTHER EDIT: I listened to some of her songs via music video in order to get a better look at her outfits, and I really like her music. Thanks for the introduction! :D

Fantastic Four: I want to apologize in advance for the torsos. They're the best I could find given the circumstances [id Est: The fact that we have very limited muscle torsos. ] Mr. Fantastic: Hair Head Torso Legs The Human Torch: Hair - Either in tan, or bright light yellow Head(s) - This one was a tough call. Torso Legs The Thing - Minifigure scale Head - This or this Torso - This or this Legs - With dark blue hips Personally, however, I say: Build him! Flickr user Peter Aoun made a really awesome brick built version, as seen here. Invisible Woman: Hair - One of these . . . Head Torso Legs

Just thought that I'd toss this here: In reference to The Black Knight from Scooby Doo: Although they didn't actually use either of them when the made the official version, there are two official Lego pieces that corresponds to the actual helmet piece and feather seen in the TV show, that can be found here and here, respectively. If anyone has the official figure and both of those bricks, I'd be curious to see what it looks like with those pieces attached. :)

You're welcome. I did notice the yellow/fleshie compatibility first time around, and I actually thought that you'd done it intentionally. As for fleshie Loki faces, I've always found that there really, truly, are a ton of wonderfully different options. :P As for the jewel thief, I'm glad that you noticed her potential as well. :D Oh, I see. Sorry if there was any confusion. As for the links, it's no problem. :)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Good luck with that figure! Unfortunately, I myself don't have any ideas at the moment, but LegoMcBoss2004 came up with a great sounding design, as seen in his comment below, albeit minus a helmet piece. Thankfully, autorazor figured that out, which can be seen is his comment, which also below. I identified the helmet which I think he was referring to in my response to his comment. Hopefully, that works! Happy building/designing! - The Big Red Cheese This one? EDIT: In looking for something completely unrelated, I stumbled upon this gem. It should work for what you're looking for. I know it looks odd from the side, but look for one of the frontal photos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wow! Just from that one image, I can say the face, arms, and possibly the legs, look absolutely amazing for a purist Robotman. :O Maybe this torso can work? I hear that. It's a darn shame, too. Fortunately, I think this torso could work, with the arms of the originally suggested figure. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nice! I'm not usually a fan a yellow guys, but these look absolutely amazing! :D Cap's hair looks fine to me. :) Also, just a side node, if you want to add a bit of detail to your Black Widow, the newish CMF Jewel Thief's respective torso and legs assemblies have lots of little details that are sadly missing from some of the other black colored female jumpsuits. Spidey and Mysterio both look great as well! :D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Batman: Cowl Head Cape Torso Assembly Hands Legs Assembly Joker: Hair Head Torso Assembly Hands Waist Coat (There is no such part yet, sorry to say. Thus far, this is the only Lego Batman Movie Joker minifigure that I've seen, and he doesn't have the part you're referring to awesome coattails and waist coat that we saw in the new pictures.) Legs Assembly Harley Quinn*: Hat Head Torso Assembly Left Leg Hips and Right Leg Scarecrow: Hat & Hair Head Torso Assembly Legs Assembly * Lego's original Harley Quinn, released way back in 2008, was designed by TLG to look like the B:TAS version of her, so I'd recommend taking a look at her parts as well. :) Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese PS: If you have part numbers, punch them into the search bar at Bricklink.com, and you'll get a link to the parts themselves. Then, simply use Eurobricks' handy-dandy 'Link' formatting button to make it look nice and clean. :)

Guilty as charged. I am not, and never will profess to being a hard core X fan. I tend to lean more towards DC by default. :O As a matter of fact, though, I did know that Kitty was trained by Wolverine, just not to the point of being a ninja.

Original X-Men Professor X - Nice wheelchair, and it's a good start, but something about the pieces you chose just gives him a 'If Gandalf attended Hogwarts' look. What I mean is that given the pieces you chose, it's kind of hard to see beyond what those pieces are, which is simply because of the fact that they are very distinct in their designs. Since I see you're going for the old man look, I'd recommend Dumbledore's head first and foremost. The fact is, though, with the nearly unlimited variety of Lego heads that we have today, you can achieve Xavier's general looks without indicating his age quite so clearly. Thus, I'd also strongly recommend Legolas', Phillip's, the new Clones', and the new Elves/Sandman's heads as well. As for the torso and legs, I'd recommend Mr. Burns'. Beast & Angel - These guys are perfect! :D Jean Grey (updated legs) - I really like these new legs! Iceman (TLG Electro) Cylcops (TLG) Giant-Sized X-Men Colossus (EBF PSF) - Colossus looks great! He's always been a tough figure to pull off and I think you did an awesome job! He doesn't have many details, however, and if you want to change that, I'd recommend checking out some of the versions of him available on Flickr. This one is my absolute favorite, and this one is a strong contender for second place. Storm (TLG) Banshee (blue hips can't be changed, he's actually a keychain ) - Banshee looks amazing! Not to mention that I especially love that striped neck bracket! :D The only thing about your Banshee is his head: It seems to be a bit more scared than forceful, which is what Banshee is. I'd recommend the angry side of Merry's head. Wolverine (TLG) Nighcrawler (EBF PSF) - As with Colossus, Nightcrawler looks great, but could also use some more details. I'd recommend checking out some of the other versions out there. 70s-80s X-Men Quicksilver (TLG (I'd recommend building your own, because this verion of Quicksilver is not like the X-Men comics one.) Rogue (EBF SPF) - Everything looks great, except the head. For white female characters, I'd recommend this head pretty much 99% of the time. Havok (yellow head needs replacement) - Try this one. Shadowcat (not my favorite version of her costume, but easy to make) - She looks nice, but why the swords? Also her head seems kind of 'off' to me. Magik (yellow head again! I told you I was running out!) - Try either of these ones. 90s X-Men Bishop (needs work) - He seems pretty good to me . . . What's wrong here? Deadpool (TLG) Psylocke (so tough to do, could be better) - She seems amazing! The only two things here would be her hair and face. There are only about five realistic options for Psylocke's hair: First, black mid-length hair with pink highlights, black ponytail with pinker highlights, plain black mid-length hair, plain black long hair, and a plain black ponytail. Like Shadowcat, her head seems kind of 'off' to me. Gambit (TLG Hawkeye) - He looks great, but I think you may need to get away from the Hawkeye motif. Keep his head though, it's a really good choice for Gambit. Also, try either of these hairs. Jubilee - I see what you were trying to do with the Doc-Ock sunglasses there, but it still has a more 'crazy' than 'funky' look, and it's somewhat jarring. Jubilee might benefit better from Ginny Weasley's head instead. Hope that helps! Also, as for Dazzler, Firestar and Negasonic Teenage Warhead? Yes, yes, and yes. :P Best of luck and happy building! - The Big Red Cheese

Cliff Steel "Robotman" - Perfect! I must know where that helmet is from. Black Canary (Punkier modern version like the current issues) - Not how I'm used to seeing her, but definitely cool. Azrael - Not at all how I'm used to seeing him, but definitely unique and awesome Supergirl Armor Suit - I've never seen this suit, but it looks awesome. I especially like your use of the Star Wars Senate Commando leg pieces and that Ninjago shoulder armor! I imagine that these mods would work just as well for an armored Superman, too. Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider - Not really familar with this version of the character, but based on a quick Google search, he looks great! Nice use of the CMF Motorcycle Mechanic's skull belt, and Syndrome's hair! Also, where's that torso from? The Punisher - Nice job combining Syndrome and the new Spooky Guy CMFs! I love it! The Maestro - Perfect! :O Mockingbird - It's almost like those pieces were made for her . . . Aged Cap - Nice use of Mr. Incredible's receeding hairline, and the CMF Darkchylde Ilyana Rasputin - Not really familar with this version of the character, but based on a quick Google search, she looks great!

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A few pages ago, Zilcho made a post about how the CMF 16 series Ice Queen could be used for Killer Frost, and as I thought about that more and more, I realized just how many things we can do with this new series, so I decided I'd list out what I thought of, instead of letting it stick around as an old wall of text reply and get buried amongst all the other things here. I'm a DC fanboy at heart, so these are somewhat biased, but I'm sure those Marvel fanpeople can help pick out what works for Marvel from this. Wildlife Photographer - Her arms, torso, and possibly legs work well for Atom, Red Tornado, and a mini-fig scale Colossal Boy (amongst the many other heroes with similar red/blue color schemes), her parka hood would look nice on Captain Cold (or the henchpeople of any ice-themed villain), and her penguin can be one of the penguins sometimes seen with Penguin, or it can supplement Bwanna Beast/Animal Man. Penguin Suit dude - He can be a henchperson (or robot) for the Penguin, or something like that. Bow and arrow dude - His entire figure can be used to modify Green Arrow, or be used as Yao Fei, or even the comic book versions of Robin Hood. Ice Queen - Her 'ice beams' can be used for Cloak's light beams, her face can be used for various versions of Killer Frost or Live Wire, or other light-blue skinned, female supervillains, and her hair, sans crown, can be used for Ice. Dog Prize Winner - His hair can be used for a first appearance Captain America or Booster Gold, his light blue arms could work for Killer Frost or another ice-themed villain, and his dog can supplement Bwanna Beast/Animal Man. Devil costume kid - His tail would work for Marvel's Azazel, his torso would work for CW Flarrowverse civilian Roy Harper or anyone else who likes wearing red hoodies, and his pitchfork can work as a Bat-Trident or something of that nature. Mech girl - Her printed arm, armor and legs would look great on Brainiac, and her hair would work for some versions of Killer Frost. Backpacker - His hair definitely has some use(s), but I can't think of anything specific at the moment. Spy- As BiggusBricks suggested, his hair might work for Hawkeye, his legs can solve my tactical legs problem and they'd look good on the UCS Tumbler Batman. A lot of Batman related stuff could work for him, and his parts could also work for spies within comic book universes as well. EDIT: Given the 'A' on his suit, he could make a good army builder for A.R.G.U.S. agents from DC Comics. Banana suit guy - Banana Suit Deadpool is apparently a thing. 'Nuff said. To make it complete, Deadpool and the banana suit guy could be paired with the CMF series 2 Maraca Man's maracas. Also, he's technically not a superhero, but he could act as a mascot or something for the truck driver in the Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas set. Also, the green shirt under his suit is very bright and comic-booky, so I'm sure there's someway that could be used as well. Turban wearing scimitar wielder - His turban can be used for Super Sikh, his scimitar can add to Ra's al Ghul or Ubu (Ra's's manservant), and Ubu can also use his legs. Plus, his arms would be awesome for someone trying to make a yellow-skinned Wonder Woman. Mariachi guy - His parts can work for an unoffical Mariachi Batman. Spooky guy - Someone, somewhere on the Internet suggested using his torso for Punisher. His legs look like they work for Punisher as well. Pirate - His sword can be used by Ra's or Ubu, his "scalp" piece looks particularly useful, and although his classification as a superhero is dubious, I'll include it here anyway: his anchor tatooed arm can be used for Popeye the Sailor Man. Babysitter - Her hair can work for a pre-transformation Harley Quinn, when she still went by Harleen Quinzell. Boxer - Her gloves can be used for Steve Rogers when he goes to the gym, Red Arrow's boxing glove arrow, Wildcat, and her hair, in that new color, has many, many uses I'm sure.

Here's my recipe for a New 52 comics based Caitlyn Snow Killer Frost, based on how she appears in Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, as seen here. Hair: Dr. D. Zaster's or Crazy Scientist's Head: Ice Queen's Cape: Sir Fangar's Torso: Necromancer of Dol Guldur's with white hands Legs: Syndrome's with black hips (or plain black) I admit, It's not perfect, but it's the best we can do at the moment, until we get proper black pants with white boots. :(

Assorted new ideas: Superhero Bart's arms would look great on a classic Bronze Tiger, and Syndrome's arms would look good on classic Ted Grant Wildcat. Finally, I have a nice full recipe for a classic Enchantress, given that Suicide Squad is coming out soon. :O Enchantress: Hat: Freestyle Timmy/Minerva McGonagall's Hair: CMF 12 Spooky Girl's Head: Scarlet Witch/Supergirl's or Phoenix's/Jean Grey's or Batgirl's or Red Harrington's Torso/Arms: Minerva McGonagall's Legs: Minerva McGonagall's Cape: Quidditch uniform Draco Malfoy's/Gilderoy Lockhart's/Loki's/Superhero Patrick's/Minerva McGonagall's

Sorry for improper attribution, but I'm on mobile. EDIT: Attributions fixed I'd recommend the old Ep. VII Luke Skywalker or Emperor Palpatine torso(s) in order to get Cloak's, well for lack of a better word, cloaked, appearance. EDIT: Also, try a plain black cape. The Dementor cape is okay, but the classic starched ones work alright too. As far as I know, Cloak's outfit has always been all black. Yes, great minds must really do think alike! :P I'm just glad that I wasn't the only one who saw the arms' potential.

c0rnedfr0g, You're very welcome! I'm glad you decided to continue tinkering, as the fig is even better than before! :O :) :D The only thing that I don't love is the Imp's wings. For me, at least, the red just seems a bit bright, especially considering that this is Batman we're talking about. :P I'd recommend some black paint, or something so as to "dull" the red's appearance, but other than that, I think the figure is awesome. Also, you're right about the chinless cowl: It's a darn shame that the ears aren't longer. :(

That sounds amazing! I think that his boots would work as well, and just for the record, you are the first person that I've seen mention that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On another note, the Lego Batman Movie Joker's arms, what with their card-suit tattoos, could make for a pretty good purist Double Down as he appears on in the CW Flarrowverse.
