Well i am in the same boat as you are, have spent too much money on custom figures already (including the Witch King). However I wouldn't be sad if LEGO does all of them, I have enjoyed owning customs for figures that officially don't exist for years. But I am still interested in LEGO's take on them and there is still something special about owning official LEGO figures of famous characters. :)

Yes, let's hope at least some of the gaps will be filled: Sauron, Witch King, Faramir, Eowyn, Gondor Soldiers, Haradrim soldiers, Easterlings, Lothlorien elves just from top of my head. Shame that Imrahil/Knights of Dol Amroth didn't appear even in the extended edition and Glorfindel did show only very briefly.

If we do more regular sets i just hope they won't waste spots for ROP sets.
-
Let's make it 4 battlepack then, i want my Elves as well. :D
-
I just hope we get at least some of the stuff omitted last time (Witch King, Gondor soldiers, Faramir etc.).

Wow, surprise to be sure but a welcome one!

Would definitely be cool but doubt it will happen and if it does i doubt it will include enemies to fight againts as Agent Kallus suggested. Can you imagine LEGO doing Incan Village with Spanish soldiers as adversaries? :D Anyway looking forward to the Viking Village for sure even though after the recent castle i am kind of running out of space.

I meant before Hobbit movies. Obviously there would have been no LOTR sets without Hobbit movies and Hobbit sets...
-
For Hobbit/LOTR the sets released before the movies. Given Amazon series starts in september we would have heard something by now i think. So no, no hope i guess. :)

Similar feelings here. Looks pretty good but it's too big, too expensive and doesn't fit with anything i already own so pass for me as well.

The first set revealed got me little bit interested but fortunately (for my wallet) the rest look meh to me.

Is it worth spending the money on sealed MVR/MMV?

Well don't touch them if you don't need to. :D I think the way you store/display them might help a bit. The ones I had stored in a box look in better shape than the displayed ones. -

Yop, i own quite a few Uruk-Hais and after 10 years i am too scared to even move legs/arms for most of them since some did break doing that. Combination of dark brown and dark red is a killer for these minifigs. -
Sorry bad wording, no instructions just LDD file he shared after his submission expired. Yop, still "salty" how Lego handled this license.

Yes, though not my design. :) I bought instructions from Legomocloc on mocsmarket.com. Besides Fall of Osgiliath i got Harlond Port, Ithilien Ambush (built Oliphant only) and Watcher in the water from the same guy. And couple years back i put together Minas Tirith based on RAKRONDEWL Lego Ideas design after he published the instructions.

Most of the sets i bought after coming out of my dark ages 10 years ago when Hobbit/LOTR came out. Started with just complete sets with instructions and then moved to sets including boxes as well. Sealed stuff still bit too expensive. :) Yes depth was the deciding factor for me as well since to fit the expanded Helm's deep i required 60 cm.

Here is my collection. First overall picture: And now castle stuff: Obviously main problem of this setup is the dust... :)

For me clearing cookies/changing browser/login out and back in didn't work. In the end i just made the order without seeing it in the cart and fortunately it appeared in the email confirmation. Still stupid from Lego side if you ask me...

Wouldn't be surprised to be honest. When i added my two sets i planned to buy the cart showed 3 items for a second and then it switched back to two before i was able to go in and finish the purchase.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
sahidko replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes the production/logistic costs are rising but most of the really big corporations keep reporting record profits since Covid started. One could assume that's because they used the situation and increased prices more than just to maintain the pre-pandemic / pre-inflation levels of profit. Maybe LEGO is going to be an exception. :P- 2974 replies

Well if i read it correctly the platform itself sits on a base 8 studs high (to allow boarding the train). That's going to take some pieces. Plus the train that needs platform that high won't be small either.

Well i just finished building The Ministry of Magic set and even though it looks nice and minifigs are great this is the most "facade only" building from LEGO i have ever put together. There is basically no place to put the figs besides the chairs and even some of those can't be utilized properly because how cramped the space is. Pretty disappointing to be honest.
