You could probably call these mercenaries. The individual colour coordinations are excellent!

So much going on here, so many cool things. And a roller coaster... I like the cannon, but I hope it doesn't have too much kick-back!

Space Pirates or Pirate Spaced? Nicely done with the restrictions you put on it!

Immediately, I know exactly which set this is representing. I feel that that is (or should be) a key attribute for this contest category. It fully captures the Spyrius aesthetic too, and feels Space Piratey. The way you've used balloon-type wheels to resemble hovercraft tubes, unfortunately makes it look like they actually ARE wheels for a vehicle, as such it kinda seems like the symmetrical details are sideways. I'd like the 'front' to have actually been the longer edge in that case, and it then becomes a trundling 'raft' ground vehicle. The alternative would be to somehow add wings or something, to stop the wheel pieces looking like they are actual wheels. It just reminds me too much of the Spyrius robots that roll along on front-facing wheels to see straight away that it's meant to be a flyer. Maybe also having 2 guys facing the side in the main photo greatly encouraged my misperception.
But I like this one, and the good old space grid background is always cool.

Captures the notion of 'space pirates' and the essence of the original set quite well. Nice details but perhaps a little too much going on in a small space - it's a bit hard to know where to look. I think it would work better if you only included 3 or 4 of the crew in the photo.

Thanks. Yes, what kind of space pirates are they if nobody has extra/weird limbs?

Sounds painful (wallet-ly), what with the other Castley & Spacey big sets & CMFs also out this year. Plus the Viking Village is STILL out of stock in Australia, I'm still waiting to get one of those.

Sailing the Seven Galaxseas are many profiteers, travellers and institutions. In addition to that, many groups - small and large - of less-upstanding folks prey on the weak & vulnerable of those. Thankfully for honest types, there are also the law-enforcers.
Captain Vanson and his crew of Space Pirates commit small hit-n-run, marauder and scavenger jobs, far from the more established & defended settlements & outposts. But when the likes of Mandy Chase are on the hunt, no distance is enough to guarantee justice avoidance.
Meet the captain & his crew!
Zib & Zab:
Keen to be mean
Sometimes sibling rivalry causes great grief for the family. Sometimes it merely takes the form of healthy competition. Sometimes it's a mixture of both. Having gained notoriety by losing her leg to gambling, Zib's brother Zab cut off his own in an effort to get some of the attention back. And of course, BOTH of them insist on having the final word in everything...
Tragarttuk:
Rough & tough
The inability to see colours in objects is an unwanted side-effect of having natural heat-vision. Tragarttuk uses his visor as vision enhancement, to allow him to see the universe in an approximation of the way most already can. He also uses it to watch rude or gory movies when he should be watching radar. Not generally good at doing what he's told, or caring about it! Favourite catchphrase seems to be "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" or "it was an accident!"
Rebertha:
She's back. But is she better?
Everyone has fore-arms. Not everyone has four fore-arms... but when you only have 1 eye, you could do with some extra other. Centuries on from her maiden voyage, Rebertha has had numerous iterations of anatomy, and although the right eye is the only organ still original, her black heart is the next oldest part. Sold a former 'business partner' for pilaj-blade hand attachments.
Captain Vanson:
Yes, he really does insist on being the tallest, although Rebertha will elongate her modules when he's not looking.
From prolonged use of his tight-fitting armour, Vanson's lung capacity and digestion are hampered permanently. As a result he has undergone cybernetic implantation and requires his bubble to 'breathe' comfortably. His nutrients are supplied directly into his altered bloodstream. A former lawful bounty hunter, his alterations have made his mind unstable at times, leading him to eventually deviate from his previous path. Cunning yet often wreckless, if he is caught on the hop, he may undo himself, but if he has time to plan, beware!
And what are Space Pirates without a Space Parrot?
But are they a match for the law enforcement?
Imperial Marshall Mandy Chase:
Sometimes you really need to bring in the big guns
Mandy Chase has been one of the most successful martial marshalls in recent times, and her reputation only took a further giant leap when she took down the final remnants of the Squidman clone operation. Not content with achievement, she refuses to rest until all thugs, bullies & evil-doers have seen justice. Able to space-travel almost undetectably while unaccompanied, she comes down on her unsuspecting foes faster than ludicrous-speed. Vanson's crew have recently caught her attention...
Will they see her coming before it's too late?!?

By nostalgia factor - as with other 90th anniversary sets of varying size and difficulty

Black Knights are sorely missing from this Castle renaissance

Glad you are un-banned.
Amazing... you know Barad Dur is bigger than Orthanc - the official Lego version comes out soon, so how long do we wait to see yours?

Both soap and water are chemicals, but I know what you mean - and that is good information too
-
Man, you are still building the biggest towers!
-
You'd think that one of the many sprays for seized-up items would be suitable for plastic, and allow the arms to loosen a bit. Probably warrants a cheap test subject rather than a rare minifig, but I would start with WD-40 of course!
-
Not yet, but that will be the plan!

Might be intentional, so everyone forgets about that one quickly

What else could possibly be better than a 6989, but TWO 6989s? The mirrored construction actually primarily reminds me of the monorail trains. Very well executed. A very long time ago, I tried a similar thing with the SP1 6886 and it wasn't amazing.
I've never tried it on translucent parts, but I get a pretty good result at removal of prints by using a pencil rubber (eraser). Works best on flat or convex surfaces, minifig legs are difficult at times. No need to fear unwanted chemical effects.

Ordered a bunch of them (not all are available on AU S@H ), still can't get the Viking Village (always out of stock whenever I try to get it ) - space baby set on the way. (I am still calling them babies even if they don't have the goo-goo face)

Looks good. Great torso.

It contains a trebuchet, catapult, ballista, siege tower and tents. The Forrestmen's castle looks also fantastic!
I am the same with those 3. I also like the look of the small medieval bakery & the green-sailed viking boat sets in BDP4.

The funtionality sound interesting, it would be great to add a video sometime showing us the functions, since your build relies heavily on them.
