1. The Flintstones is a sitcom?!?
2. To be pedantic, Ghostbusters was also a TV show first, but they changed a LOT when they made the movie. Remember the 2 cartoons? One was heavily based on the movies, the other was based more on the original show.

6077 is one of the best non-castles, 6080 is iconic and an incredible parts-pack but from the no barding, visor or armour piece era, 6081 is very cool and one of the better raised castles, but 6090 is the most impressive raised castle (bigger but not better than the Black Knights one), and in my opinion the last one that was better than just okay. Slightly low on minifigs and a bit cartoonish coat-of-arms is about all that's negative about it.

Yeah, the info is in the link I posted.
And I found it by searching the Bricklink catalogue for sets that contain a certain piece that looks uncommon.

Wow, so much low-end Knights Kingdom and Not-Forestmen so far, and then all of a sudden 4 of the top 20 sets of all time... What a group of death.
I'll have to think about this vote for a while.

Something I never really thought about before. Different time periods used different approaches. Some sub-themes had a single trans colour, some had multiple. If not all just one, I tended to use red for rear lights & engines or powerful weapons, and the theme's dominant trans colour for other lights, energy beams/panels, lasers, shields etc. Especially the neon ones. Gets a bit different when you're talking about sets with green & red (presumed) lights, a different colour for the canopy and such.
Even if it's just the trans black (or smoke, whatever), canopies that are tinted have a more 'sci-fi' feel to them than the plain clear. I recall City (or should I say Town) sets used to use light blue visors, windows and screens. Even that looks more scientific/magical.

No no no, it's all wrong, the guy on the left's weapon of choice is supposed to be a shovel, and Blue Raja throws cutlery...

In the past, the people who were drawn on 24/12 got a bonus with their prize, but everyone from 1-23 got the same prize without the bonus.

Again with the arguments as to why people are wrong for wanting themes to go away or have a break...
This is a vent/rant thread, if you don't like it, don't read it. But please don't continue to add insult to injury in this thread. It's so tedious and pointless. And if you're like this in real life, always explaining why someone's feelings are wrong, don't ever get married, your wife will become the most miserable person to ever live.

In Australia, they are exclusive to Amazon. No shelf space, no toy or department shops. The Warcraft Megabloks were sold at EB Games, I think Overwatch Lego could sell really well there.

TLG had better sue Eurobricks then. There's studs on our logo too!

Apparently Aquazone was supposed to be on some other planet anyway. So it WAS a Space theme, just that instead of being based on the surface it was underwater.

E. Lucky I still had that tab open. I took a screenshot in case anyone else forgot

Wow, Overwatch provides Sauron at last

Was a cool idea in the first place, but they're one-trick-ponies for the most part and it's been overdone.

Very cool

What is the point of voting for an Ideas project? So TLG will consider making and selling it. Why would they sell it? Because people would buy it. Why would people buy it? For parts, for display or for play. Why would people display it? Because they think it looks good. If a child could easily throw something similar together themself it does make it a pointless Ideas project for display, because who would bother with it? What is the point of trying to sell a kindergarten-style finger paint when little Jimmy can make you one? So if an Ideas project is childish, that IS a good argument against it.

A couple of years ago CopMike didn't have photos for the prizes yet so Siegfried used the 'huge manatee' image as a placeholder... and like every good in-joke, it only compounds - now the pictures of the winning entries are also manatee placeholders

Manatees winning manatees?!? How perverse!

Just thought I'd clarify that I don't post less due to some conscious decision (I'm not on strike), I just have a lot less to say nowadays. (I still scroll throught the board most days.) It started slightly when early details were no longer forth-coming, then escalated when themes of interest were no longer forth-coming, then exploded exponentially when I lost interest in SW.
Thank Ideas for Voltron, the only Lego I bought myself in 18 months

My post frequency is down a lot, but most of that is due to certain themes being (mostly) dormant and that SW sucks at the moment. But the current (yet understandable) EB policy on 'leaks' was the beginning of the end for me. I'm too busy to do the community build stuff so my only reason for still being here is for some of these conversations.

One of those will be a gift for someone, the other will multiple-y not be a gift for anyone.

I reckon Saint Nicholas should probably look more like this:
