Missing steps when importing LDD lxf file into LeoCAD

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I imported a Lego Digital Designer model lxf file into LeoCAD  and saved it to generate a LDraw file. When I import this LDraw file into LPub3D I find it only contains a single page with both the part listing and the complete model on that page. There are two problems I am trying to solve

  1. How can I add steps retroactively into this model in LeoCAD ?
  2. How can I ensure when I import it into LPub3D the part list is on a separate page  ?

I would be grateful for any pointers.

Hi,

1. I don’t have a solution within LeoCAD and a posteriori but lxf2ldr.html can use LDD’s steps when it converts your file (just a box to check).

2. A parts list is always in the step where the parts are added.  As you have only one step, all the parts are there.  A separate list of all the parts in the whole model is another option, it’s a BOM (Bill of Materials).  So, if you solve (1), you won’t want the parts lists on separate pages any more but you’ll want one BOM at the end (or beginning) of your instructions (IOW, (2) will disappear but you’ll have a new question: how to add a BOM).
