Reminder: Forum's image size

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Recently we have had a lot of new topics and replies that have oversized images, from both new and long term members. Subsequently, we have had a lot of reports from members, who presumably, have slowdowns.
We want to remind all of the members that the max allowed size for an image is still 1024x768:

Images: Don't post images that are over 1,024 x 768 (or 768 x 1,024 for pictures with a portrait orientation). Images rarely need to be over 800 x 600, and any that are over 1MB (including GIFs) are not allowed unless there is admin approval. Also, when quoting, don't quote images unless it is specifically needed.

The staff would clog topics, if they quoted the rules in each of them that has oversized images, so we will remind only the new users. Long time members may receive a profile warning, that expires in a day or two, or their oversized picturess may be removed from the post.
Of course, we all sometimes post something in a hurry or over the phone, so permanent warnings will be issued only after several reminders and after repeated postings of the oversized images.

If you have large photos that need to show something in details, you can always post one or more photos in allowed size, and other giant photos as a link(s).

Let's all try to be more careful about this, as we always were, and think also about our members who may have slower or limited connection, as this affects them most.
As always, you can send me or any staff member a PM if you need any help with the images.
Thanks all, and have fun :classic:
