One thing Lego city don’t do enough of is busses, I’m surprised they’ve only done one double decker bus, I’d love to see a Lego city bus set again like a bus depot

A bendy bus is literally on shut up and take my money grounds. 💰  Yeah, I'm surprised about that too given that kids should know what a bus is. As a former public transit worker, I take it personal that Lego never did a full out public transit subtheme during its prime (imo, that was "Hey" generation of City). I take it personal in a playful way. Not actually serious.

I'm surprised Lego hasn't done one of those yet. I'd buy a few of those if they did.

Here's a completely new idea:

Art Shop Break-In (40-50 Euros)

a colonial style white colored building with big windows and flowers in front, with art shop on the first floor (cashpoint, physical art pieces on stands and paintings on the wall, one windows with break-in function), living room in the second floor (couch, couch table with small lamp, TV and cupboard) and art studio in the attic (= third floor)

vehicles: an ATV for the robber and a Smart like small police car

minifigs: robber, police officer, shop owner and painter

What do you think?

Sounds like a good way to squeeze an art shop into your city.

I really think a realistic lime green Airport Fire truck would be a great idea for city line, also I really like the idea of the articulated bus. seems its the most popular request on this topic!

Yes, a new airport fire truck is since long overdue, too.

I could well imagine TLG releasing a new airport in 2025 or 2026 being built similar to this year's harbor: a tower, a small aiport building with terminal and lounge, a medium scale (meaning only 6 studs wide) passender airplane, a cargo helicopter, a forklift and a cargo transport vehicle. And then I wouldn't be surprised if they released a seperate sold airport fire truck at about the same time.

Maybe the next 200-dollar set could an iconic city airport!

I’d be very interested in that. I was hoping for an airport in a Paradisa-esque island setting. Lots of tourists in Hawaiian shirts and palm trees (a tribute to set 6396).

I wonder when Lego is going to do a hair piece like this. I'd love for a piece like that to be used on some of the females in my town.

Didn't they already do that with Andrea's hairpiece? With holes so you could even put a bow in the back!

A LEGO expert builder or modular buildings version of this classic Town set, 6390 Main Street from 1980, reissued as 10041 Main Street in the LEGO Legends line in 2003 If so, the new set would be inspired by the various Space, Castle and Pirate-themed LEGO sets that have been re-imagined with newer parts and designs:

Greetings!

As it's been 20 years since the beginning of the City Theme, and LEGO (supposedly) failed to launch anything to celebrate the date, I thought I would create something myself.

It's inspired on set 6464 From 1999

https://brickset.com/sets/6464-1/Super-Rescue-Complex

60468 - The City

Composed by 3 buildings, each one representing a subtheme from the 2005 wave.

Building 1-Fire Station-Small Building With A 2-story tower and a small garage on the side, includes a small fire truck. Based on 7240 and 7239

Building 2-Police Station- 3-story tower with 2 modules on both sides of the tower, one being a parking space for a small vehicle, and the other being a small holding cell with space for a helicopter to land on top. Based on 7237.

Building 3-Engineer's Office- Small office for a construction engineer/architect, includes a decently sized desk to fit schemes and projects on top, 2 chairs for a client and the architect. As We didn't have any sort of actual building in the first construction collection, the building will be inspired on the subtheme but not a actual set. Features blueprints of 7240 and 7237.

Vehicles:

-Small Street Sweeper, based on 7242;

-Construction vehicle: Yellow truck with interchangeable back accessories, working similarly as the 60414 fire truck. The first accessory being a crane with a selectable accessory (excavator bucket-thingy and a hook), and the second being a dump truck accessory. A combination between 7243, and 7249.

-Police Atv-Small Atv with enough space to hold a Police Officer and a Prisoner/Crook.

-Fire Fighting Vehicle-Small Sized Fire Ladder Truck. With an actual hose!

-Police Patrol Helicopter-

To celebrate 20 years of ®City, "The City" features many elements inspired by iconic sets from the founding subthemes/collections of the theme. Fire Fighters, Police Department and Construction!

Edit: While I was dreaming of a celebration-al set for 2005 city, I thought of a small park with a statue resembling the motorized speed boat.

A fully functional monorail compatible with the old system used in Town and Space.

6399-1.jpg

Basically a modern version of 6399 with an updated motor and compatible rail.

A monorail would be impossible to make on that scale, since I heard that even back in the 1980s and 1990s, the monorail sets did not sell well, and the molding machines used to make the track pieces were destroyed...

I see it as unlikely but not impossible. Even if the old molds still existed they would probably still make new ones so I don't see that as a huge problem. Nowadays large expensive Lego sets are more common so maybe they would sell more monorail sets today. I guess the electric motor parts were very expensive to manufacture in the late 80s and early 90s and drove up the price a lot and maybe nowadays they would be cheaper to make.

I wish LEGO could maintain some of their older values, if they did this set today it would be lacking a lot of elements. I doubt they make a actual monorail ever again, if it had a motor it would be a "knockoff" passenger train, ot it would be something similar ot that Monkie Kid set from 2022
