60***: Construction Site Delivery: 350 pieces

Contains a transit style van (Roughly the size of the new Lego van), towing a trailer. Barriers, cones, tools, wheelbarrow in a new blue colour, etc. 2 or 3 minifigures (1 or two construction workers, maybe an architect or site manger with a new printed 1x2 or 2x2 checklist tile). The helmets for the crew could be a new colour combo if dual moulded. (Maybe a return of the headphones/helmet in white?) Could be used to introduce a "cement bag" mould that could be utalised in sets like friends as compost bags.

60***: Site Visit (90 pieces)

A return to the starter sets of old. 3 x Construction crew using a mixture of the 2024 torsos and legs, and one site manager with a new torso of an open high viz over a suit. Little side builds of things like a wall being built up, or maybe even a small skid loader. Contains a blueprint tile for 60502.

60***: Heavy Haul (450-500 pieces)

An updated, larger version of 4203. A lorry with a flat bed, and a small excavator with swappable "tools" (Drill, jackhammer,  bucket). 3-4 minifigures. A driver with a safety vest over shirt, 2 construction workers. If it contained 4, another architect as it seems to be a running theme in modern Construction sets. Contains a blueprint for 60473.

I think a great addition to the current wave of construction sets would be a roadworks crew (using the same elephant head branding that we have seen on all the construction sets as of late). Would come with a road grader, an asphalt paver (1 x 1 round plates in dark grey representing the asphalt maybe), some roadworks signage and barriers and a couple of minifigs (one of whom would be holding one of those signs that roadworks crews use to tell drivers to stop and let people from the other direction pass through when there is only room for one vehicle at a time). Maybe also have some plates that represent a half-built road. Could even include a tile with some road blueprints on it.

Then the next size down set could feature a steamroller and one of those machines that paints lines on the road.

Looking back at the 2024 wave of CITY Construction, I noticed some similarities to this year's Coast Guard launch. Both subthemes started with a similar initial launch of a ~$50-60 range set, and a $100-110 range set, so assuming Coast Guard were to follow Construction's pattern, some set ideas I had were:

60*** Coast Guard Surfer Rescue [4+] (~90pcs) $15 - Coast Guard equivalent of 60450 Construction Wheel Loader from January 2025

Coast Guard raft, surf board, and a small terrain side build;  2 minifigures 

 

60*** Coast Guard Rescue Seaplane (~500pcs) $55 [Could be like a partially modernized version of 60015/60164, but more in line with the current CITY build standards] - Coast Guard equivalent of 60466 Bulldozer from summer 2025

6 stud wide Coast Guard plane with brick built landing gear,  new plane door element, and opening rear cargo bay; Civilian vehicle could be a fishing boat OR larger catamaran; 4 minifigures 

 

60*** 4x4 Response Truck with Speed Boat (~380pcs) $40 - Coast Guard equivalent of 60478 Cement Mixer

Land vehicles could either be a 4x4 SUV [like a blend of 60412 & 60479], or a 4x4 pick-up truck, with a larger trailer, and brick built speed boat slightly larger than the one in 60417. Civilian build could be a life raft or a small island with lighthouse. 3 minifigures.  

 

60*** Coast Guard Headquarters (~1200pcs) $120 - Coast Guard equivalent of the upcoming summer 60494 Dump Truck & Front Loader 

Main build is the headquarters built on a brick built island style base, with a lower boat dock out front and helipad on the right. The main headquarters would be a two story administrative tower, connected to a  3 story lighthouse on the left [In theory almost a blend of 2008 and 2017]. Side builds could be a smaller helicopter, a civilian life raft or a fishing boat, and a Coast Guard raft. 5-6 minifigures. 

 

Most sets would likely be similar to concepts LEGO has already visited in previous Coast Guard waves, but I thought I'd share some ideas I had if Coast Guard were to follow Construction's release pattern, (aside from the upcoming backhoe as I couldn't think of a Coast Guard equivalent to it).

Now that all of the 2026 sets are known, and have images, and the 2026 retirement list is a bit closer to being locked in place, I thought I'd share some of ideas for what we could potentially see in the 2027 wave. With the current police station & single release patrol car both set to retire, I'm sure we're bound to get new versions for both sooner rather than later. A few ideas I had for 2027 are: 

Police: 

605** Police Car [~120pc | $15 USD] - same idea as the 2026 taxi. Two seater police cruiser with two figures; a unnamed police officer and a crook. Could also include a bicycle for the crook. 

605** Police Dog Unit [~440pc $45 USD] - Partially modernized version of 60048. large police K-9 SUV, police motorcycle, plus a small container hideout, and a hot-rod for the crooks, with four figures; two police officers, and two crooks. 

605** Bank Robbery Detective Mission [$90 USD] - Two story bank building, police surveillance van, police motorcycle, and a van for the crooks, with six figures; three police officers (one in regular uniform, 2 detectives), three crooks (two in jumpsuits, one in disguise as a bank guard. 

605** Central Police HQ [$100 USD] - Giant multi-level police station, plus a police SUV, police motorcycle, and a red convertible for the crooks, with eight figures; five police officers, 2 crooks, and a civilian 

605** Money Transfer Truck [$30] - police related, but under Great Vehicles. Armored bank van similar in style to the LEGO Van, with three figures; two guards (with the uniform from above), and a crook.  

I've got a bunch of other ideas too, but these are the only ones I've actually written up. I could also see more done for Coast Guard, as well as Construction. A Coast Guard HQ, and a new road-based 4x4 response unit would be neat.

I could definitely see some of those being made as well as a new hospital, a fire train, subway, a skidsteer, a wrecking ball crane, a new passenger plane, a popcorn truck, a telehandler, a cargo truck, a heavy haulage truck and a garage too.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't get a new Hospital next year. From what I've seen, all of the medical stuff they've done since 2022 has been extremely popular. A Skid Steer would be a great entry level construction set. It would be neat if they could find a way to bring back the cheap starter sets for the recurring subthemes, as they could provide a few unique figures from each subtheme for cheaper prices. A popcorn truck would be excellent. Would also be neat if they did a drive-in theatre set to pair with it, since they've been doing a lot more civilian cars lately. With how well the Airport is selling, its probably going to be around for a while, so I could definitely see a new passenger plane at some point as the current large one has been out since 2023.

Would also like to see them expand on the vintage/classic subtheme like a vintage double decker bus and tram or a classic car even. 
Could we also see a miniature excavator now we have a smaller bucket piece or a wheeled excavator or a railway one.

Maybe a medical train or construction train. I can see a passenger train next year.

We haven’t had a museum for a while so we could get a museum. 

What about something different like a chocolate factory set even.

So now that city vehicles have received the Speed Champions treatment and have been much improved actually fun to build, I think it's time for city buildings to get the Modular building treatment, instead of the facades we get. Obviously not full blown Modulars just an upgrade like the vehicles. I really feel like we need more structures for all these Great vehicles.

A few more ideas I've had lately as well as a few updates for the two previous posts I published: 

Some updates to the police set ideas I posted. City has introduced a bunch of named characters the past few years whether it be through magazines, or through the main product line, so I thought it'd be neat to try and indirectly put a few of them into these set ideas. 

605** Police Car  [~120pc | $15 USD] - same idea as the 2026 taxi. Two seater police cruiser and a crook's bicycle, with two figures; a police officer (cty1826; 'Lucy Lawson' but with the newer tactical vest torso), and an unnamed crook. 

605** Police Dog Unit [~410pc $40 USD] - Partially modernized version of 60048. police K-9 SUV, and a plus a small container hideout, and a motorcycle for the crooks, with four figures; unnamed police officer, a security guard with new torso print, two unnamed crooks (one in a jumpsuit, and one with a new leather jacket torso print), and two police dogs. 

605** Bank Robbery Detective Mission [~900pc | $90 USD] - Large two-story bank building, police surveillance van, and a van for the crooks, with six figures; unnamed detective, Frank [character from 60479, and 60497] in detective attire, unnamed police officer, three crooks (two with the same leather jacket torso as above, and one disguised as a security guard), plus a police dog. 

605** Central Police HQ [~1000pc | $100 USD] - Giant multi-level police station, plus a police SUV, police motorcycle, and a red civilian convertible for the crooks to steal, with eight figures; five police officers including Lina Brickle in detective attire, 2 crooks, and a civilian.

Some new Ideas: 

605** CITY Starter Set [~530pc | $50 USD] - Similar concept to the 2013 and 2015 sets. In this case, the two main builds would be a fire utility truck, and a street corner with electrical box, traffic light, and a small tree area. Also included are a doctor's car, a police ATV, and a dirt bike, plus six minifigures; a firefighter, electrical worker, a EMT, a police officer, a crook, and a civilian. 

605** Lifeguard Watch Tower - [~300pc | $30 USD] - Coast Guard equivalent to 60480. Includes a small beach build with beach chairs, a sandcastle, and a lifeguard station. Also included are a Coast Guard ATV, and an ice cream vendor station/cart., with five minifigures; a Coast Guard officer, a lifeguard, a ice cream vendor, and two civilians, plus a Coast Guard dog. 

605** CITY Hospital [~1170pc | $110 USD] - Giant multi-level hospital, with design language similar to 60502, and the previous CITY and and Friends hospitals. Key features include an entrance lobby with waiting area, a sallyport for the ambulance, and a working elevator. Also included is an ambulance, and a small park side-build, plus twelve figures; two doctors, two nurses, a maintenance worker, a barista, a police officer, two EMTs, three civilians. 

605** Town Centre [~2100pc | $220 USD] - Similar concept to the sets from 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020. Big set with multiple buildings and a handful of vehicles. Since CITY appears to be getting  decent price per piece ratios, I figured this one could be a bit better value compared to the previous sets: The main builds for the set would be four larger two-story buildings (~250-350pc each), with two being corners. The buildings would be a bakery [corner], a Toy Store, a coffee shop, and a two story clothing store [Corner]. The Bakery, and coffee shop would both feature alternate outlets upstairs, with the bakery having a small loft, and the coffee shop having a photography studio. Also featured would be a small park side build (that can connect with the one featured in the Hospital), a police car, a small cargo van, a convertible, and a tow truck, plus 16 minifigures; a baker, a two baristas, two toy store workers, a police officer, a tow truck operator, a delivery driver, clothing store worker, a thief, five civilians, and a minifigure statuette, plus various accessories.

They sound like brilliant ideas, we are due a new hospital and police station since we last had them in 2022. 
I’d also love to see another Lego City bus as I feel like we don’t get enough of them. 
We haven’t had a big city centre for a while so that would be cool to get.  
Would like to see a Coast Guard 4x4 and Seaplane, as well as a telehandler, combine harvester and cargo truck. 
I am looking forward to see what Lego City has in store for 2027!

With the summer finally here in the northern hemisphere, a few beach/surf-themed/tropical-theme sets would be awesome, more specifically, LEGO sets centered around California-style and Hawaiian-style beach/surf culture.

• A Woodie Station Wagon: comes with surfers and surfboards
• A Hawaiian-style Luau: this beach party-themed set comes with male and female hula dancers wearing grass skirts with maracas and ukuleles, as well as a pig roasting over an open flame.
• A collectible minifigure of a male hula dancer in a grass skirt playing a ukulele (since we already have a female version of the hula dancer playing the maracas).
