Steph 104th Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Is there a chance Lego will display one of the other sets at New York Cominc-Con? Quote
Black Numenorean Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 In France, on the Shop@, we can win a bard from Comic con in challenge: http://club.lego.com/fr-fr/insidescoop/hobbit-competition and you, in your country, is it the same thing? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Is there a chance Lego will display one of the other sets at New York Cominc-Con? The NYCC starts merely six days before the embargo ends, so I guess there'll be at least one set on display as long as WB/NL/MGM approve of it Besides, TLG has revealed Hobbit sets at the NYCC before, namely the Goblin King Battle in 2012 Quote
kevkipo Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very nice, In France, on the Shop@, we can win a bard from Comic con in challenge: http://club.lego.com...bit-competition and you, in your country, is it the same thing? Same in NL, guess its for all country's Quote

Er...I hope it comes to the American website, because I have the disposition of being NOT French. Very nice. No kidding. Quote
wetib Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Kevkipo, picture with Smaug isn't nice. I think it looks like very infantile, just good for children. Forge doesn't fit to the Throne with Arkenstone. Always handicraft halls are far away from main section. There are very noicy voices because of transportation ores, metals, work in forge etc. Did you see Hobbit AUJ? Many years ago before Smaug destroyed the city of Dale, Thranduil had arrived to Erebor with another elves to bow to Thrór the King Under The Mountain. Can you imagine that Thrór is talking with Thranduil while 50 dwarves are forging swords near throne? TLG combined two diffrent sections which they don't fit to each other. It is like combine Lake Town Chase with Battle of Helm's Deep. Quote

Dude, if i wouldn't have seen The Hobbit i wouldn't be here And it is a VERY VERY VERY NICE picture, i know where the working space is in Erebor, i just really like this set!? You do know you can disconnect the Throne part and the mining part from eachother right? If you want you can put your mine section in Tokyo and your Throne section in Paris... wetib Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Putting together two diffrent sections which they don't fit to each other introduce to children's world. You can love this picture and 79018 set but it doesn't change fact that throne and mine doesn't fit to each other. I will be content If lego would make the throne in big hall with ornaments and other chambers or only big forges. Now we have little ugly forge and unfonctional Throne with low number of pieces. Yes, but the choice was more like between what we got and getting nothing. Quote

kevkipo Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Holly worlds :) Get nothing or get something like 79018. "Something like 79018" you speak as if it's the worst set ever. it think it's fantastic,! it has a little bit of everything Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 "Something like 79018" you speak as if it's the worst set ever. it think it's fantastic,! it has a little bit of everything I agree It combines the most important features of Erebor in one set (minus the statues) It features the throne room (including the Arkenstone), the mining section, the forges, the entrance (including the key), a pile of gold, lots of gold ore (represented by crystals), a few gems and of course Smaug The only thing I truly miss here are gold coins and ingots, but you can't have everything Of course it's not on par with sets like Orthanc, but it doesn't need to be Quote

Okay now im going to make one Quote
Blakstone Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I can understand why you would not want the two separate parts of Erebor attached but I still think that it makes a great set. We all have different desires within our LEGO hobby. I aspire to be a MOCer so I bought the Hobbit sets for the minifigs. The only Hobbit set I left intact has been Bagend. It is just so good that I don't want to scrap it for parts. I will buy 79018, build it, enjoy it, then tear it down, and file the brick away. At this point, you really only have to decide on whether you want to buy 79018 or not. Complaining about it now won't get LEGO to recall all the sets and redesign the whole thing. You can always modify it more to your taste later. Quote

Blazej_Holen Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Very nice, Same in NL, guess its for all country's After first negative "wow" this is actually a clever set. Contains main areas like throne room, mines, Smaug, secret doors important figs...All together. Only one thing to complain is price. Once I get that set It is easily to mod it. Actually there is realy good ideas in it to create inside of Erebor with not a huge amount of bricks, and maintain the main atmosphere of it. So I can imagine that those who dont like that connection (throne and mines) can easily create some addiction to them, like expand of that trhone section and make those mines bigger, maybe create some section with forges etc. Not everybody can be pleased, but honestly, its a toy, so why some of you expect a great replication of one scene? That set should inc,ude play features and as much areas/scenes as its possible, and all because of kids. So use your imaginaton and creativity and be fine with it or buy those figs you want on brickling and dont bother rest of us with those comments. Its everybody personal opinion I know, but onnce the set is done thre is not much to do with it. And word doesent change it... :) Peace Quote
Lancethecat Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Another similarity between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies: both had second movies with climactic battles that ended up becoming $130 LEGO sets. And on the subject of the Bag End set, if you ever come across it at your local store, BUY IT. Everything about it is incredible- the minifigures, the design, and the parts are all amazing. I own one and it's awesome. Quote
