BGreeneID Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Hello, Brickers! Today I bring you the first two in my series of Micro "UCS" models. Micro "UCS" models are a type of building where the model is built in micro scale, but with full playability and functionality, with as much detail as can be crammed into them. The first model is Jabba's Palace. It has 243 pieces, as compared to the original's 717. It has microfigures to represent Jabba, Oola, Bib Fortuna, Chewbacca, Han Solo in Carbonite, a Gamorrean Guard, and Boushh (Leia). Features include: Removable Carbonite Block, Removable Palace Roof, and detachable guard tower. It can connect to my upcoming Micro "UCS" Rancor Pit. The second model is Jabba's Sail Barge. Based off of the 2013 edition, this model has 14 pieces, with microfigures for Jabba, Slave Leia, Ree-Yees, a Gamorrean Guard, Max Reebo, the Weequay, and R2-D2. Features Include: Opening side Hatches, and Movable Side Rudders. Interior of the Barge, with Max Rebo's Piano, and Jabba, Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Those look really good! Maybe I'll borrow this idea (and some of your designs) to create a full diorama in this scale. That could be neat. I'm always looking for ways to display things without taking up too much space Quote
BGreeneID Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 Really nice micro-models  Thank you! Those look really good! Anio Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 You have an interesting concept here. Definitely not UCS, but not microscale either. IMO, microfig scale model seems a pretty accurate "label". The palace is very good. The sail barge is interesting ; I am however not convinced by the sails and Jabba. Quote
pihlbrick Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 These are awesome. If the barge was made as an actual set, the sails would be made of fabric like minifig capes. I hope you are working on a rancor pit to put under Jabba's palace :) Quote
Nom Carver Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 They look so similar to their minifig scale counterparts that they look almost official. Quote
TWP Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Good work! They are really recognicable, and the nose of the sail barge looks even better! ;) When looking at the microfigs of the battle of hoth games I had in mind doing something similar too. Quote
M<0><0<DSWIM Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I love this micro "UCS" scale! That sail barge is pretty awesome! Quote

They are now 2.5 studs wide and are more streamlined (but still not perfect ). Jabba has also been updated. Quote
pihlbrick Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Here is another idea for sails if you want to use LDD (although not all the connector parts seem to be in there). I think the orange wing seems more appropriate as a sail. The mast/pole is from the Chima Chi temple. Quote
Robert_88 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Very good work. I really like the Palace! Can't wait to see the Rancor Pit :) Quote

mechamike Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Awsome work! Really looking forward to see more builds in this scale! Are the parts available so You can build them in real bricks or are there some coluor issues? Edited November 18, 2013 by mechamike Quote
TenorPenny Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Nicely worked with only a few pieces. Quote

Are the parts available so You can build them in real bricks or are there some coluor issues? As far as I know the sail barge CAN NOT be built with real bricks due to the lack of pieces in brown and orange. The palace is more feasible, but still could not be built with 100% existing bricks. mechamike Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Ok! Great job anyhow.. Sooner or later perhaps the parts needed will show up Quote
