Sounds a little boring to me, but must see the building before I judge. I expect pigeons or the designers have been asleep at the wheel

It seems like an incredibly broad description-a music or furniture store?

That sounds pretty interesting to me. Music + furniture stores? Nice combination.

Given how vague the leaks were last year, I won't get excited until we get pictures because it really could be anything.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the initial leak claimed the Tudor Corrner set used to be “townhouse” then later it had a cafe or restruant.

Ooh a furniture store would be cool! It would be interesting to see if the designers could come up with cool furniture designs that we haven't seen before. I try my hand at making things like that but they end up dollhouse scale and weird looking because the details get lost otherwise. But of course, when we get pictures and it's something completely different I won't be too disappointed haha

It would be interesting to see how they do a furniture store with a back room storing some boxes.  Fire station has a garage door in back, yes? How can furnitures can be distributed after customers order their furniture. If this intitial leak is true, I am very looking forward for it! A music store is nice tho!

Who exactly is leaking this info? Is it someone reputable?

I honestly doubt Lego these days would be so careless to allow such a major leak this early. Usually we don't know until like a month or less before the reveal, right? (Especially since they've been cracking down on leaks!)

If I remember correctly, we got initial leaks late September / early October last year. And for Natural History Museum, I think it was leaked much earlier than September 2023.  I guess those leakers are very witty….

I have the opportunity to get Green Grocer for $300. How does it compare to most other modulars? Ignoring the average selling price now (and I've told the seller that it goes for $700-$1000), would you spend $300 for it? I've largely ignored it because it's so expensive.

It's one of four that I don't have (Cafe Corner, Market Street, Town Hall) and of those I think it's the best. The exterior looks good, but it's too tall compared most others and feels like a slightly different scale. The interior either feels clunky or is non-existent.

Is it just scarcity and people being completionist that drives up the cost, or is it really that good?

The Green Grocer used to be my favorite years ago.  It is large and pairs will with the older modulars.  Great canidate to MOC your own interior.  For $300 that is a great deal.

Why do you suppose TLG has not issed a Post Office or Doctors Office yet for the Modular Series?

Well, think about it, public service buildings like the Fire Brigade and the Police Station had a whole decade gap between them. They are likely trying to evenly disperse highly common buildings found in a city to offer variety and prolong the building line. I remember when everyone complained about having no Police Station, and then it happened, so it is only a matter of time.

I find the "furniture/ music" store a bit of a "boring" concept, in terms of all the other establishments that fans have been clamoring for the past few years: printing press, theater, healthcare-based building, etc.

However, they may come up with novel techniques or styles (just like they did for the Tudor corner) that may make quite palatable in the end.

Hmm I hope that rumour is not accurate. We had a music ‘store’ upstairs in Assembly Square, so I’m not so sure another one would be needed when there are plenty of other choices for themes of the modular are out there.  The furniture store would be an interesting one, but what about a small food shop, such as a butchers or corner neighbourhood store.  I’d also welcome some form of doctors surgery.  I think a hospital is only likely to be made when its a 48x32 sized modular, unless they went for quite a tall 3 story modern structure, as they would probably lose a good ⅓ of the baseplate with an ambulance bay.

I was disappointed when I heard the leak for a furniture/music store. I’ll reserve judgement when we see the actual photos. I ended up buying Tudor corner day one which I normally never do for the modulars.  I would love to see a florist, toy store/lego shop, costume shop or hospital.

Honestly, I don’t think Lego would care that someone says “But we already have one…”.  We have two cafes, we have two hotels,  etc.  I would be interested to see a second music store in new style. Not like the one in Assembly Square.

Regardless, I’m looking forward for the 2026 Modular Building’s official reveal!

To be honest, I am a bit disappointed when I see the first "photo"
This building is not impressed me a lot.
I don't like this type of vintage buildings
And furniture store? I had amended the Friends furniture store into my town/city
Music store? I may only use the setup for this part and build my MOC.
And I am so lucky few years ago when I decided I won't buy the fire brigade.
I don't think it's good idea to buy/collect every single modular buildings.. it's not worth for it

Not sure what “photo” you saw  but i feel like you jumped the gun.  It’s kinda too early to be disappointed, although i can understand why we already have a music store.  But I don’t see nothing wrong with several same businessses (cafes, hotels, etc).

I also decided not to chase after older modular buildings before Assembly Square (except for Parisian Restaurant).  However, i do want a new fire station set (new architecture, new building techniques, new parts that were just introduced in recent years). On the other hand,  veterans would not buy that new fire station because they already have Fire Brigade. Therefore, the new one might not be sold well (unless it changes veterans’ minds….).  Anyways, chasing after older Modular Budiligns is not worth for my time.

Honestly I’d be very surprised if they did a music store since in AS it’s already there. A furniture store seems more likely. The Modular street had quite a few music related themes already though - in AS, DD (radio station), JC (jazz club) But the leaks at this time tend to be quite inaccurate, so I’ll wait and see.

As I said before the modular street has probably enough restaurant and entertainment options for now and more public buildings would be welcome. But they might be less exciting to the average consumer. There must be a reason why almost every second Modular has a restaurant

Tudor corner is a hard act to follow so I do not expect this years modular to be as good to be honest:def_shrug:

Wonder who the designer is, there are some big shoes to fill this year even if it's the same designer I have my doubts.
The designer of the very impressive 10297: Boutique Hotel made the average 10312: Jazz Club the year after on the other hand Jamie made several excellent ones:shrug_oh_well:

Do the modulars ever include new moulds? Just wondering if a music shop could provide us with new instrument moulds. A proper trumpet or something to add to make a brass band or orchestra would be nice.

I'm not really at all worried about how good the building looks overall as I don’t really want to display anything that I haven’t created myself but hope there will be some decent and unique parts, plus also the modulars usually provide a range of bricks in rarer or newer colours plus hopefully some useful printed tile parts.
