My guess is that The PS will retire before the BS. Same. To add to the speculation: The Assembly Square also got a price increase (7 %). So that leaves the PS the only modular not getting a price increase. It has almost 500 more pieces than the BS which is now the same price as PS. Edit: It looks like it is getting a price increase in Europe, ref Promobricks, so I guess that ends the speculation 😄 Edited August 22, 2022 by Bainter-ban Quote

One of them is probably retiring. Very rarely one doesn't. Quote
brimbolet Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 I'm so glad I used all my VIP points to get the BS together with the forest hideout GWP at a reasonable price. With the apparently new price range of 200€ and well beyond (rumored AS 300€) for a modular this is simply too much what I'm prepared to pay for a toy. Unless Lego makes something really spectacular... Quote
dignow Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 I just stopped by to see what's new - it's been a while for me. It seems staggering to me that this topic has been live for almost 10 years now. Maybe that's just me. Quote
The Stud Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 BrickFanatics reports on a lot of retiring sets and they seem adamant that there aren’t going to be any Modular Buildings retiring this year. They’re somewhat reliable to my knowledge. I’m surprised that the Assembly Square will still be around for another year (a full six years as of 2023) and I’d expect that to retire before either the Book Shop or Police Station. Then again, I expected it to retire before the Diner too, as the Diner is part of the more modern Modular Building era while the AS is a remnant of the series’ more classic styling from the first ten years, but here we are. Fortunately I bought both during the pandemic as I wasn’t 100% sure which would retire first. Hopefully, I don’t miss out on either the BS or PS like I did with the Brick Bank, as I really like both of them and they’re the only other ones I’m missing from 2013 through now. Quote
TeriXeri Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 (edited) Currently 10270: Bookshop has a 31 december 2022 retirement date on the Brickset site. Usually sets might be sold a little bit beyond that date if there's still remaining stock but I do think it's a sign of what's the first modular to retire next. Maple Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 None of the modulars have been listed as retiring on any of the retiring lists that are floating around. Quote
Bainter-ban Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Also, all modulars got a price increase, which is a pretty strong indicator that the sets will not be retired. Quote
Lion King Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 October is coming up in a few days! I am very about the next Modular Building set. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 What it'll come first this year. Leak or official reveal first? Quote

Is it possible that there might not be one this year? If none of the current modulars are retiring, a new one would put 5 modulars on the shelf at the same time. AS, BS, PS, BH, and what ever the new one is. Has there ever been a time when we had that many on the shelf at once? I know nothing, but it might be possible that the intended modular for 2023 ran into to some issues along the way and won't be able to be released. That would possibly explain the late price bump that the PS got. It was intended to be retired, but got a stay of execution due to some unforeseen reasons. Quote

If that happens, the poor store workers will NEVER hear the end of it. Besides, LEGO will never do that.. too much money to be made for them to stop now! Quote
RichardGoring Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I'd be very surprised if they didn't release a new modular for January 2023. It seems like there is a lot of kudos internally to get to design a modular, and they are planned so far in advance, it surely couldn't suffer from an issue that would stop them releasing one. Plus, they usually have several in progress, so they could try to bump up the next year's version. But, perhaps most importantly, as Murdoch17 said, they'd be losing out on a ton of revenue and gain a load of bad feeling if they didn't release one. The Police Station didn't get a price increase, did it? It's still $200 in the US. But all the others did increase in price. Quote
The Stud Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I believe I heard someone say that all the current Modular Buildings are selling too well for Lego to retire any at the moment but don’t quote me on that. Works for me as I wasn’t planning on getting the Bookshop and Police Station until this spring. Those are two of the three Modular Buildings I’m missing from 2013 through now. (The other one being the Brick Bank…) I’d be shocked if we didn’t get a new Modular next year. Lego hasn’t ever skipped a year for this theme. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 @MSY-MSP I don't think LEGo would do such a thing without an official statement first. Quote
Lego Conductor Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 This years Modular will be 3 levels and made out of bricks! Kidding aside it wouldn’t be autumn without all the speculation. So it will be a Mill, a Rumor Mill! Quote

No we will get one in 2023 as normal, they are just better at keeping leaks under wraps so might not hear or at least see much before it is revealed.. Quote

BrickFit26 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 So this "rumor" I came across on YouTube about the 2023 modular is super crazy. Talks about an adult dance club, But toward the end of the video it says it could be a problem with the translation. Not believable, but so crazy when I saw the video. Quote
RichardGoring Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Do you think they are getting confused with this alt build of assembly square? https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-15858/Huaojozu/the-music-club-inverted-corner-10255-assembly-square-alternate-model-modular/#details Clearly LEGO will not do this in one of their sets. Citromon Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Ok, so Promobricks just came with this info: Set number 10312, 2899 pieces, 229.99 euros At least, I like the number of pieces) Quote
