Zerobricks Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 A little somthing i made last weekend. Like the real one it uses independent suspension in front and a live axle at the rear. In order to simplify design the rear axle also houses the 2 drive RC motors and the gearbox, opretaed by the geared 9V motor. Gearbox allows the truck to either climb up smaller hills with 1:3 gear ratio, or to reach some 15 km/h on the straights. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Great work Zblj, I like your Baja truck and olso the 2 gearbox works very well Quote
rm8 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) Great model, baja theme is popular this year:) I also started building process of trophy baja truck two weeks ago:) but my is smaller, lighter with one buggy motor. Now it is chassis with mototrs and rollcage:) cant finish it, cause every time I want to build - remote control comes to my hand and we begin to burn:D Edited March 18, 2013 by rm8 Quote

Medicopter Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Just amazing vehicle! Do you use native Lego radio freq control? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Yes, original Lego RC. Thanks guys! Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 Here are more pictures: As you can see the geared 9V motor power a 16 tooth gear wia a worm gear. This way the truck cant slip out of gear. Also when the gear is engaged the worm gear has enough room to slpi, so there are no forces created on the ring gear to slow the motors The front suspension uses a 12 tooth gear with a 7L rack for steering. This way the steering angle of the wheels is some 20 degrees, but going fast its enough for the truck's body to roll a lot. And a pictures of the entire truck: Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Looks good Zblj! I like the 2 speed rear axle. Quote
