midengineaddict Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 In my next 8x8 crawler project I have the intention of trying a setup with the two rear axle with 2 L motor each (a motor for each wheel). the two front axles only will steer with a servo, an L motor and a differential on each axle... and all axles will be floating with 4 links and horizontal chock absorber. Did someone know if its a goon idea or if a topic already talk about this setup? Quote
midengineaddict Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 sure, it works fine do you have 2 L motor in the front to or just in the rear? Quote
midengineaddict Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 I just saw your brickshelf ... its a pretty cool axle design Quote
efferman Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 yes, every wheel has its own PF-L but be warned, the fuel consumption is huge Quote
midengineaddict Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) Efferman, I did your axle and I had a lot of fun doing it. Thanks for the very easy to follow instruction. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=510957 I made some modification on it (hope you will forgive me) Edited January 25, 2013 by midengineaddict Quote
davidmull Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 yes, every wheel has its own PF-L but be warned, the fuel consumption is huge That's why I just ordered 8878 no more buying batteries. Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 That's why I just ordered 8878 no more buying batteries. But from my experiences 8878 has less available current than the AAA battery box... Well you will see. Quote
midengineaddict Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 with 2 battery box (12 AA battery) the running time is acceptable Quote
