Luke Styer Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 With my recent receipt of a few 1x1 tiles to fill in the sidewalk, I've finally completed my Modularization of two copies of 3661: Bank & Money Transfer into a single building. You'll find the DJ outside most of my buildings. It's a corner building, so here's the view from the Avenue: You can get a little better look at the (admittedly rather plain) roof in this shot: Here are the two floors and the roof pulled apart: This is the ground floor: J. Jonah Jameson, man of the people, does his own banking: Gold bars in the vault: The Branch Manager's office: Another view of the Branch Manager's office: I'm pretty happy with how that last shot turned out considering I shot it through the window pane. lightningtiger Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Nice modular conversion of two 3661's 'Luke Styer', neat through the window photo at the end......what's next.....the modularisation of the helicopter rescue/medical centre ? Brick On 'Luke Styer' ! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Great job Luke S! Makes me glad I grabbed a second copy. I've always thought LEGO banks were to small. This turned out very nice Quote
jimmynick Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 The set 3661 is one of the better City sets of recent years, and you've made it look really good as a modular building. It strikes me as more "suburban" than the modular city sets, but I can still imagine it would fit in with those buildings. The inclusion of a traffic light is a good touch. Great work, Luke Styer! EvMan Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Hola! Great modularisation! I appreciate the second half of this sentence sounds obvious, but it looks like a bank. Ev-Man Quote
SalvoBrick Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Good mod! I like it! You could add more details in future. Quote
PsyKater Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 You did a great job there! Congratulations! Quote

Maybe. I don't have a hospital yet, so that might be a good idea. I appreciate the second half of this sentence sounds obvious, but it looks like a bank. No, I think I get what you mean. Banks kind of have their own "look." Thanks, everyone! Quote
antp Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Nice conversion. I planned to do that too, some day, when I'll have time :D Quote
scottwb2010 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Youve done a good job there Luke Styler, amalgamating 2 bank sets together making a good sized one. I wish lego would make more sets like 3661. Quote
eurotrash Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Good job! Yellow can be a difficult color to work with - too much of it can overwhelm a design (I'm speaking from experience here), but you've got a good balance and the MOC work well. Do you have further plans for this creation? A tile floor perhaps, or upstairs rest rooms? Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
Luke Styer Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 I doubt I'll mess with a tile floor. I don't have a lot of tiles and I really don't like not having studs on the floor for minifigs to stick to. Quote
MrDarthLord Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I was about to do the same, but as a "simple" 16 studs building, never though of a corner one; that's a smart move. Quote

I figured with two fascades and signs and such, a corner was a good choice. I wish lego would make more sets like 3661. Man, I do too! Quote
Redhead1982 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Nice work. I had the same idea in my mind - to make the bank modular, and a corner building. However, yours is completely different from what I had in mind. That's the good side of LEGO - lots of imagination. Quote
