timslegos Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 You get pretty great "play-value" with small sets, but when your collection starts to grow the small sets get less interesting, at least for me. And here in Norway lego is never on sale, a small set that costs 25 dollar in USA costs 35 dollar in Norway. That is why I care so much about the value different sets gives you for your money. But on the other hand, the unimog costs 200 dollar in USA and about 295 dollar here, so in the end the small sets might be a better deal. Why such the large markup? tim Quote
Traktor Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Sorry, just started thinking about it. Quote
roland Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I've found (NL) pricing on 9395 and 9397 but now I'm even more confused about their size. Especially 9395 (the pickup truck) it's listed at 50 Euro, I'd expected it to be at least 80 cause the pictures I've seen so far suggest it's quite big because it has the same wheels as 8258 or I'm i mistaking? 9397 is listed at 110 Euro, so it should be slightly larger then 8070 (which is 96 at the same shop). It also has the '8258' wheels I think. Both sets seem to have great part price ratio's. Can't wait till January :) Quote
SNIPE Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Any set with 3000+ parts and super hard difficulty would be ideal for me. helps it the model is BIG too. Quote

TechnicJuan Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Does anyone remember when the first half 2011 sets started showing up in stores last year? Quote
GT-Vince Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I was able to purchase the 1st half 2011 sets in december 2010, they were in shops starting from 15th of december here in Belgium Quote
zewy623 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 @TechnicJuan When the sets come out, it varies on where you're located. Like where I live, we get nothing when a bigger city (i.e. small town Kansas compared to New York City) so also depends on your store(s), like if they only get so many in the first truck, they may keep them in the back until they get more (i.e. first shipment is 10, but they need atleast 100 to keep the shelves stocked) hope this helped! grohl Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Usually 2nd half of December or 1st half of January. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 The owner of one of the local toy stores in my city told me that next thursday (december 1st) lots of new 1h2012 set will be arriving. On my question: "Will there be technic-sets on this?" She smiled mysteriously.... So I got my hopes up1 Quote
Cypr-21 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hi guys ! You need informations about 1H2012 models ? Check that ! Quote
DLuders Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) @ Cypr-21: Did you buy the 9394 Jet Plane in a store, or did you "reverse-engineer" it from the box art? Where did you buy it, and are there any more left for other Frenchmen to buy? Were there other 1H2012 Technic sets there too? Edited December 10, 2011 by DLuders Quote
Cypr-21 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I bought it in MaxyToys in France. I also bought 9390, 9391 and 9392, tow pick up 9395 wasn't avaible. I also make a video of the crane 9391 which show how the new turntable is working. And I took two pictures with new parts : From 9390 From 9391 Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I see they redesigned the triangle parts, so they fit better now. I really like all the functions in the airplane, the rear tilting wings are great! Quote
grohl Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Except the front the plane looks pretty well. I like the new Technic Triangle design. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Except the front the plane looks pretty well. I like the new Technic Triangle design. This new piece will be very useful on trial trucks . Quote
Wiseman_2 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hmm... the plane is slightly more appealing to me now that I've seen its functionality... and I don't really have a problem with it being in red, I just have a problem with the fact that there is almost too much red. Think I'll pass on the crane, I don't MOC enough to justify buying it for the parts alone and its functionality is too similar to this year's mini crane. Quote
timslegos Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Those triangle pieces are weird! Why would TLG change them? And i cant wait for those turntables! tim Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) The airplane is a bit better than I anticipated, but I'm still bummed that, besides the elevators, it doesn't have any other working flight control surfaces. The opening canopy is a nice feature, and the rack mechanism used for the swing wing is unique. I guess the price will determine whether or not I will buy this. The crane is a must buy for me. Those new triangle pieces are great! Much better fit. Edited December 10, 2011 by dhc6twinotter Quote
Crtlego Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I'm looking forward to the new parts! The plane's functions are nice. Those triangle pieces are weird! Why would TLG change them? And i cant wait for those turntables! tim I agree. I think we find them weird because we are used to the shape of the old ones. I don't know for sure, but I would suspect that the reason they changed the shape was to allow a lego brick or axle to fit in that space next to the axle hole. Normally, the triangle would get in the way, but this piece opens up many opportunities in the building of MOC's... and Lego must have finally realized that. Quote

I just wish LEGO would hurry up and make this part with the axle and pin holes in opposite locations. Pin holes at the ends and an axle hole in the middle. Every moc I build, I wish LEGO had such a part. Quote
sama Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Some guy already has LEGO 9395. http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/topic5042-105.html Quote
DLuders Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Cypr-21/ Cypr2107 posted this of the 1H2012 Lego Technic 9390 Mini Tow Truck (mini Unimog) set, in front of its big brother: Quote
Pauger Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) The minimog and the crawler crane appears to have the old triangle part. Edit: Oh.. you said that the new triangle parts were from the minimog, but at least the yellow ones on the crane are the old type(?) Edited December 11, 2011 by Pauger Quote
