Donkey is said to be an accessory, consisting of two new pieces. They didn’t say which character he comes with… Either Shrek or the dragon I’d say! Aw, man, I totally had it in my head that "big bad wolf" referred to Death. I was planning on getting him and Puss In Boots together for a diorama, but now I'm not sure I'll get any of these figures- I don't have much of a connection to Shrek, and while I loved The Last Wish, the only physical recreation of it I'd want to make is the final battle between Puss and Death. That said, taking away my personal thoughts on it, it's objectively a perfect choice for a CMF and is going to sell like hotcakes. A TON of millenials and Gen Z will be buying these trying to get Shrek himself. Quote
Darkness4 Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM Shrek? The kids will probably like this so I guess it Will do Well. Timing seems a bit weird with Shrek 4 being released in 2010 and Shrek 5 being delayed until end of June 2027. It would be more logical to release Shrek related sets around the movie release but I guess the delay of the movie is problematic considering the planning of set design and production planning at LEGO. I thought so too at first, but this year marks the 25th anniversary, and Shrek is popular enough for sets and CMF series to do well even before the next movie comes out Quote
Pop Star c o Posted Wednesday at 09:24 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:24 PM Yes! Finally some good series! But sorry, it still won't even out that Spiderverse abomination they made last year. Quote
FinlayTheFaithful Posted Wednesday at 09:58 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:58 PM Something tells me that stop motion lego youtubers will have a field day trying to put Shrek into their newest animation when he eventually hits store shelves Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted Wednesday at 11:20 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:20 PM Just saw it on Reddit. Mehhhh… so many other properties seem to have more appeal than Shrek. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Called it! I'll set a set of them - maybe an extra of a few of them, we'll see. Hopefully there's enough budget to set some good accessories as well. Quote

FinlayTheFaithful Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Before I forget to mention, could the Shrek minifigure use a new mid-fig mold to capture his proportions better or would he be just a normal sized minifigure? Quote

I’d be more interested in seeing the big belly torso that’s been floating around in concept art form for years. (It would make up for not giving us a pregnant belly in the Spiderverse series like they should have) Quote
Roebuck Posted yesterday at 07:14 AM Posted yesterday at 07:14 AM Too bad when we finally get a donkey it can only be used as the character Probably not any figs of interest for me, but might be a useful part here and there so will wait and see Quote

williejm Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I’m a bit bemused by ‘Donkey will be an accessory’ - given that he’s such a main character. It does also suggest that whichever character he comes with will be pretty good value, and probably v popular, especially if it’s the dragon which will be a complex figure. Quote

Not like Shrek needs a film to market itself anyways 15 hours ago, JohnTPT17 said: I think it's more likely Dragon + Donkey. Why I'm surprised Gingy isn't a pack in with someone too, but I guess it makes sense he's a figure given that they already have a mold for him. Anyone else find it funny the one character from anything outside of the first two films is a random side character from Shrek the Third? Quote

It was absurd that Jessica and Scarlet Spider both got snubbed, but we got werewolf and sun-spider. At least the spider-cyborg seems to have been intended to have more of a role in the movie at one point (Though given the series released two years later, I guess that excuse doesn't really work.) 4 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: No. Shrek will have a moulded head with a standard torso and legs I bet he'll be a sandwich board like the Ewoks. Is I even if Donnkey is a main accesotry, heh is not a first named character show up in CMF as accessory. Gumzo came with Camilla. But I’m very delighted to see a main character as an accessory!!
