MetalRufflez Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 ▲ This was meant to be a Christmas present for you. You should be able to build the Monster Truck with 8048+8049 sets and a few extra parts. It looks good and is fun to play with. Nothing more, nothing less, just 339 parts put together. I Opened my Christmas gift a little late and just built it: More Here: http://metalrufflez.imgur.com/grohls_big_foot I couldn't get myself to peel off the stickers, so it's Big Foot with a Buggy Paint (and an 88 from the 8051 set). I didn't had some pieces, so I changed some colors. Also added a Driving Wheel (that I'm not completely satisfied with), a front grill and exchanged the driving axle for a bigger one and 2 half bushes, 'cause my 8 tooth gear kept slipping when I played with it (did this after taking the pictures)... Had great fun building this, it looks like a big brother of the 8261 Rally Truck. It's the first non-TLG set I build, and I felt great when I started having ideas to "improve" it. I thought that all my creativity was gone during the Dark Ages, but it's slowly coming back =). Thank you for this great MOC Grohl =D Quote
grohl Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 You're welcome. I am glad you enjoyed building it and you like it. So do I. Your modification really helped the front part to look better. This model is really open to customization and changes of colour scheme. I tried to build it using only the parts of the three sets mentioned above so that anybody could do the same. Quote
grohl Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 My 28th Alternative model of 8271. OWL with moving head and flapping wings. Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Thats awesome! Nice use of the bent liftarm as an eyebrow! Quote
grohl Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 After more than two years I was finally able to shoot and edit a short video for my 8294 Parrot. Click the thumbnail for the video. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 My compliments for a neat video on a great model. Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Oh man. I like your animal models so much. And the parrot & owl are surely no exception. And the fact that they're 1-set-alternatives makes them even more impressive. Edited January 28, 2011 by Jurgen Krooshoop Quote
Milan Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 It is nice to see what can be done with limited parts, just by using your mind. Great. Quote
buddy Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Your Owl and Parrot creations are excellent, even better considering they were made from a limited selection of parts. Extremely well done. ~buddy~ Quote
martinnygaard Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I'm really excited the way you turn a small set into a new model with that limit of parts! Super models! Quote

Dutch_EE Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Škoda 136 Favorit I would like to introduce you my latest MOC. It is a model of a popular Czech car made in the beginning of 90's. My friend who owned it asked me to build one of LEGO and I said yes. After approx. two months of work here is the final version. The last photo is of the real car, so you can compare it with my model. This is what I call a superCAR. This is a beautiful example of a working car model. Those Lego Technic origionals are always sportscars like Bugatti's and Ferrari's, but I think this is better. Ok, no gigantic V8 or V10 and a working gear-box (with reverse), but a load of real life functions. I'd wish that the guys of Lego would see this. A set like this would truly appeal to me. And off course for the fans, there is still plenty of room for M or XL-motors in the boot. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 And again another display of your total genius-ness! A 5-door regular car, with everything that makes a car look real. I'm totally flabbergasted! I guess the original Skoda favorite wasn't that well designed! Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Great work, looks and functions like the real thing! One thing, did the real skoda have FWD or RWD? Quote
efferman Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 it has front wheel drive. Grohl you made a great work again Quote
GuiliuG Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Great work ! It's beautiful and i love it very much. You integrate all the functions in such a way that it's impressive. Quote
grohl Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 Great work, looks and functions like the real thing! One thing, did the real skoda have FWD or RWD? The real one is FWD-I was wondering who comes with this first. A point for you Zblj. The problem is the engine position. If it was in a prependicular direction to the front axle, it would be easy. But I was not able to find any solution to make it FWD with the engine like this. Quote
vmln8r Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Great job! I especially like the use of panels and other techniques to break up the flat surfaces, the adjustable seats and the struts for the boot. Well done Quote
AndroTech Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) OMG......Masterpiece!!! So much details, so realystic, so perfect. If it would be an official set, I would buy it immediately. Great work grohl! And another good thing, if cars like this, would be official sets - licence would be much cheaper then for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes , .... Splat Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Great work Grohl. I think you have captured the aesthetics of the original really well. I love the way you have coloured the bumpers, and the front seats have a great range of motion. Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 The best part is that you made an ordinary car! The second best is all those regular features. :) Quote
