SNIPE Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Hi, This thread is for the discussion of LEGO part substitutions for 3rd party sets, actual entries should go in this thread instead and I will add a link to it in the index , which can be found in the main thread. Jack Sassy Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago As I have no experience, the question does arise - would the substitutes work for old LEGO colours too? For instance, 3x2 wedge plate in brown, which is fairly rare: Quote
Sven J Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Sorry, but is it really necessary to have two separate threads for this topic (instead of one with an "index" first post which is continuously updated)? The new subforum already starts to feel cluttered... Edited 4 hours ago by Sven J Quote

We can't really match non existing LEGO colors that some 3rd party brands have but we can get close , especially on digital only builds since we don't need to worry about parts existing in color X. However, if the admins will decide there is need for only one, I have no problem with it being merged. 35 minutes ago, SNIPE said: old brown is the same shade as dark brown right, so I think so, as 3rd party brands will have a dark brown that is the same shade as LEGO's dark brown Not exactly, brown is lighter than dark brown, quite a lot. Besides that, dark brown has had some changes in the last few years, as it now has a slight reddish tint to it. I suppose time will tell. I be eager in finding out about some other old colours such as greys, sand red and purple. Quote
