Hello

I'm just looking around for now, but I was wondering it it's possible to embed a public image from Google Drive or Dropbox?

I have the following shared image on Google drive: (for testing purposes only)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Ng0di6xUk7-OQSckNZl5bHmq4BySyW5/preview

But I can't get it to work as an embedded image - am I missing something, or does it simply not work for Google Drive?

When I click "Other Media" and "Insert image from URL" and copy the URL, the box turns red like it's not accepting the link. Is there another way?

Thanks!

You have to find a photo hosting site like Flickr (among others) and then link the photo into your picture. Google drive doesn't work as far as I know, and I don't know about Dropbox.

There are tutorials on EB about this type of thing, but I don't know where or if they are up to date. Maybe @aFrInaTi0nΒ or another mod can help you out with this...

As Murdoch explained already, google drive is not allowing to share the images directly with their links, instead the link is just leading to the Google Drive UI, then showing the requested image in it's UI.

The known working and well known providers are listed in our guide, but others may work as well.

May it be worth for putting a line for known not working providers (mentioning Google Drive)?
