My interpretation of a 2 axle coal wagon. I wanted to have a coal wagon to go with the new steam train and that would fit in my soon to be crafted dock area. Until 1950-1960 these wooden wagons were used, but then replaced by steel wagons. There were wagons with brakes and wagons with a brake house on the back. I build mine with 'brakes' and loosely based it off some internet images from the local museums. But maybe a second one will be fitted with a brake house, it does looks fun with a figure in it riding the back.

I am still waiting for loads of parts for different builds so I approached this little wagon with the goal to build it completely from my parts bins, no orders and get it done in the weekend. Its 7 wide, base frame of 5wide using some odd snot plates I had and finished it off with brown tiles for the wood. I was considering building side wide ways first to get a thinner metal reinforcement strip, but I was lacking parts for that so I skipped it, maybe for version 2. It is a fixed axle at the moment and tested on my R40 loop it works. Used the old 9v magnets to connect it and do some brick build buffers.

Next step are some printed bricks for some lettering, will make it look one step nicer I think.

There are some more shots on my IG, including bit of the snot building.

Thanks, it was all the same colour first, but I switched it out to try something on weathering. In the end I also want the newer steel wagons on the layout. And I am not a purist by any means it felt okish if I had end of life wagons like this next to newer replacements.

Little update, since I ordered printed bricks for my diesel locomotive I figured I might as well order something this wagon. Not really realistic, but with a little lego twist.

I am unaware if they ship globally, unless your Dutch ofcourse :D, but the communication is nice, with follow up questions and they give an indication of shipping depending on their availability.
