nopingrid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago After building my Star Destroyer Avenger, I knew I had to build an Executor. This model is around 65cm long, and it is extremely detailed and accurate to the real thing. Once again, I went for a stud-less look which helped to contrast the textured greebling section. To add more contrast, I decided to use DBG for the greebling instead of LBG as seen on some other models. I also used transparent light blue pieces to represent lights of the ship. I tried to replicate the strips of greebling as seen on the ILM model, but I was quite limited by the space and depth. So, I used some pieces pointing forward to create a sense of direction to the greebling. You can also see more of the transparent light blue pieces here at the top. Just like the official sets, I designed a small star destroyer in the same scale to pair with this Executor. It uses cheese grater slopes to get the correct angle instead of wedge plates because I didn't want studs. The pointed wedge plates are also the wrong angle for an ISD which is another reason why I didn't use those. Instructions can be found on my Rebrickable, and I've also made a YouTube video showcasing the model! Quote
