Dreamweb Posted May 24 Posted May 24 It's been a long road indeed. What started as a hopefully quick build, ultimately took me a couple of months to complete. First things first, this is absolutely based on the BlueBrixx set of the same ship. I think their sets were a bit of hit and miss at times, but this one was among their best IMO. So credit is very much given. I used 100% LEGO bricks for this obviously. I built this mainly because, as a long-time Trekkie, I just felt that having the Enterprise D and shuttlecraft sets was not quite enough for me. I wanted more. With that said, it's not an exact replica of the BlueBrixx set. And I don't mean just the colours which had to be mostly different. In addition to that, BlueBrixx has some moulds which don't exist in LEGO. Perhaps even more importantly, I also made some deliberate modifications to try and make it even more similar to the actual ship from the show. And the completely transparent stand is my own design. If you're not familiar with the source material, this is the titular ship of the series Star Trek Enterprise which debuted in 2001. It was captained by Jonathan Archer played by Scott Bakula. Hope you enjoyed the photos and check it out on Instagram as well! Quote

Feuer Zug Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Good recreation. I'm not familiar with BlueBrixx work, so I don't know what the changes are. Either way, well done. Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Impressive! I also like the trans-clear stand... it makes it so the ship seems to be flying! Quote

PossumPatrol Posted June 2 Posted June 2 That's amazing! I like the subtle greebling on the saucer section. The stand design is clever too. Quote

This is obviously partially based on the BlueBrixx set, but some of the shapes are my own, especially at the back of the saucer, and at the bottom. The stand is my own idea entirely. Quote
