Elephant Knight Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) Ahoy there! I have completed my frigate for the Governors! A full broadside of cannons! A close up on the head figure and bow of the ship: So, the story behind the headfigure is something like this: One day my brother and I were talking about hockey, and how one player (Brad Marchand) had a French sounding name. And since he is known to be a bit of a "rat", the idea of using that printed mouse/rat slope for a headfigure on a ship somehow took place. The deck detailing is as much as I ever do. still, I am happy with it. The cabin got some detailing in it, not something I do all the time these days. "Here is the map, sir!" "Umm, are you forgetting something?" As always, let me know what you think! EKnight Edited Thursday at 03:12 AM by Elephant Knight Completed the Ship! Quote
Sebeus I Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Love the classic Caribbean Clipper colour scheme. I've got a classic bluecoat ship on my mind though I don't know when I'll get to start that one, so many other things to build . Quote
FrO0ogy Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) @Elephant Knight I love the shaping. Could you post some more angles, like the underside of the stern? Edited May 18 by FrO0ogy Quote
Feuer Zug Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Quite the looker. Definitely would like to see more angles. Quote
Mr. Townsend Posted May 19 Posted May 19 This is great. I like the double decker gallery windows. The shape reminds me a bit of the Bonhomme Richard with such a raised poop deck. Quote
Elephant Knight Posted May 21 Author Posted May 21 Thanks for your kind words! I will try to get a couple more pictures when I can find a bit of time. Eknight Quote
Franco Clarke Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I like this interpretation of the Clipper's colour scheme, the shaping at the stern is beautiful too. Got a fun figurehead too. Quote

Professor Thaum Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The figurehead is killer ! I had a good moment laughing Quote
Elephant Knight Posted June 5 Author Posted June 5 And here I thought the figure head would be met with some eye rolls. When the ship is finished, I will tell the story behind why I choose it. Eknight Quote

Elephant Knight Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Sail making is in progress. A very slow process, I might add. Eknight Quote
Elephant Knight Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM Author Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM Well, it's actually been a while since I completed it and took the pics, but I have finally updated the first post with pictures of the completed ship! EKnight Quote
Jack Sassy Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM She looks lovely! My favourite details have to be the figurehead and the stern, along with what I presume to be the captain. Good job indeed! Quote
icm Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM What an excellent ship. I love the shaping of the hull, the swooping of the sails, the clean yet detailed finish of the stern, and the realistic stepping of the masts and the bowsprit. How many tons burthen does this beauty displace? Quote
GeoBrick Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago And yet another stout ship sets sail on the Seven Seas! Quote
