Ah okay, just found the inventory on brick owl. Didn't realise it was published yet.

Disappointed it uses the cam pieces.  Normal engine would easily fit. Are these less authentic engines the norm now? As If we need more evidence that Technic has become about as technical as City!

If it's true that there's only 3 cams is a realistic firing order still possible?

That rear suspension build is so lame. It really needs a regular 4L liftarm, but no, why introduce it when they can hack it around with an L shape sticking out to the bottom?..

But it has new headlights! :) And finally the steering can be aligned properly, although the manual tries to fool you :D

Since there is a ton of recolors, mostly bright light green, some dark bluish gray, as well as 3 new parts I will give this my OK

also has aligned hog steering and a rear HOG dial and the "air jacks". Shame no adjustable spoiler like in the 42154 ford GT

Well, that's exactly the engine configuration that I expected, despite the marketing crap about the correct firing order. We need to take these with a pinch of salt, before going crazy about how it might come with new parts to implement..

I think I like the bodywork more than the inside due to the all the panels in a nice color. Will boost green MOCs for sure!

Revolutionary :)

The last years same scale 42110 Skyline has also working steering wheel which can be aligned properly.

(And has by the way better functions with a significantly better price-per-part ratio) This Rexy feels more like a downgrade. This model is also heavily dependent on the stickers. Without the sticker, it would look like nothing. The way the stickers are packaged is beyond ridiculous. The Skyline has the sheet packed in envelope.

I respectfully disagree. It's been a while since we got a Technic car that had functional steering and the steering wheel could be properly aligned. This doesn't have much practical significance, and they managed to mess up the instructions in this case as well just to make things more confusing, but at least the alignment is possible.

Stickers are important in this model and look good. Large parts are used to make applying stickers as easy as possible. And then the sticker sheet is just loose in the box like a piece of toilet paper. That always really annoys me.

I think it's hilarious how they just straight up lied about the correct firing order, but I'm not surprised in the slightest

Not exactly, that's classic darker green, I've been thinking of vivid, lighter, more curvy and faster vehicles using this bright green :)

Hm, the real one in your topic looks (on my mobile phone) just like bright green...

In this Video the green parts have different shadings. Half stud liftarms are clearly different. Same for the Pin Connector Hub and small Panel Fairings.

@kbalage how are your green parts?

Different surfaces may appear to have different colors. I am not sure what you saw in that video, I did not notice variations.

Product descriptions are usually written by people who don't have much clue about Technic in general. I am just wondering what the original intention was behind that part.

Indeed, it's true that using bright green could have been better color for representing the real one, but even basic liftarms and panels were missing. Hopefully this set makes the situation better.

Since Christmas is coming soon, I treated myself to an expensive eye surgery. So there is a possibility that my eyes are seeing something wrong.

The Pin with Pinhole connectors look darker in the Dude's video compared to the other bright green parts in the model.

Same for the half (thin) liftarms used everywhere in the model.

Not as bad as with 42115, but there seem to be minimal color differences in the green.

This is from official Lego product image. The 5L thin liftarms with axle hole ends are different green.

I don't see a difference in the thin liftarms in my sample. The pin with pinhole connectors is a special breed, made from a different plastic compound, so the shade is always off, regardless of the color.

In this photo there is definitely a mismatch, but I'm not really seeing it (maybe, MAYBE a very slight mismatch if I really squint) in the video capture.

If I were to speculate why the studio photo has such a clear colour mismatch, I'd guess that the bright studio lighting reflects/refracts somehow differently in the thin liftarms, though I'm not seeing it elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if the thin liftarms were also made from somewhat different plastic composition, like pins with pinhole are.

Thin liftarms are also made of a stronger plastic (probably PC like hinged/ball joint plates) than regular beams (ABS). They are shinier too so the color will be stronger/darker. Same goes for the pin connectors, they are made of PA (we all know the Sian had the same color inconsistencies with this part). Not an excuse, just an observation.

Definitely no excuse for the prices the Lego group charges. On the one hand, it is good that the company provides insights into production and materials, on the other hand, it sounds like cheap magic and excuses. Excuses so that nothing has to change, fully aware that the competition can do a better production.

Lego itself knows that the pieces have a different quality. So why not a bright green 5L liftarm at this place?

rexy04.png

It is reduced to 2x thin liftarms axle hole to keep the lots in the inventory low, fully aware that the quality of the product will suffer in the end.

Many decisions in design no longer make any sense at all. This applies to almost all new Technic sets.
