dimka_ya Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I looked at the McLaren F1 model and the pilot figurine for a long time and still couldn't come to terms with their size :) Since it is not possible to enlarge the figure, we had to make the car smaller :) Since I disassembled the official model, I modeled two cars in the Studio for before/after comparison. A couple more photos with stickers How do you like the idea and execution? :) Quote
Daanski Posted October 8 Posted October 8 A really nice modification! Fits much more in a city-ish layout. The SC formula 1 car look great, but are a bit too big for a minifigure. Quote

ER0L Posted October 10 Posted October 10 (edited) This looks very nice, even though I’m not a fan of the newer F1 cars. Shrinking SC models is always a good idea, though it used to be easier until a few years ago when they switched from 6w to 8w. But speaking of scale (which obviously interests me a lot), could you tell us the - more or less - exact scale of your version? Btw. it often helps to estimate the scale of a car by positioning a fig standing close to it. Edited October 10 by ER0L Quote
dimka_ya Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Yeah. I used to want to make the Speedchamp cars bigger, now I want to make them smaller :))) The official set is 9 studs wide, my mod is 8. If you take the width of an F1 car (2000 mm) into account, you get approximately 1x31. The car is still tall, but compared to the short figure, all cars are tall :) Quote
