DinoTron is a Classic Space theme that could have been. It features space vehicles that turn into dinosaurs!

Main Colors: Red and Light Gray

Windscreen Color: Trans Yellow

Secondary Colors: Black and Trans Red

The AI mothership of the DinoBots faction has taken an extreme interest in an ancient extinct kingdom of lizard beasts from a distant planet called Terra. So much so that it has extracted DNA from Terran fossils and synthesized it with cybermech technology in order to create robotic vehicles that transform into Dinomechs. These Dinomechs exceed at traversing harsh alien skies and landscapes.

The main units are the AeroDactyl Jet Bike and the Ankyl-biter Drill Rover.

DinoTron Vehicle Mode Group Shot

Of course they both transform into Dinomechs. The Drill Rover morphs into an all terrain walking dinomech, while the Jet Bike turns into a flying dinomech.

Dino Mode Group Shot

The Drill Rover frees power crystals from alien landscapes using its laser drill bit. It transforms into mechbeast mode to deal with rough terrain and dig up buried crystals.

Drill Rover Side

The laser drill turns into a weaponized tail whip to fend off ornery megafauna.

You can see the transformation video here

The Jet Bike is for exploration and scouting.

Jet Bike Rear

It can land in order to investigate possible resource deposits up close.

Thanks for looking!

Dino Buddies

I'm pretty proud of the Drill Rover transformation because all the parts lock into place in vehicle mode using clips. I'm going to try to post a video showing the transformation.

Also, sorry for the crappy photographs. I have literally no photography skills. I'm going to work on that!

These are very nice! The colors look very good together and the builds look like they could be official sets. The red Ice Planet style visor looks so good on a black helmet. These builds are perfect for both play and display. Looking at the pictures makes me realize how much I miss new small sets that belong to a proper new Space theme. It makes me feel the same way as I felt when I saw Ice Planet or Spyrius sets in a store for the first time. It is something new and exciting.

Both the AeroDactyl and the Ankyl-biter look sick, I really like the elephant-y toes on the latter. Using that car fender piece for an ankylosaur's' head is pure genius, it looks so much like the real thing!

Your photos look great, but goodness gracious, what is that colour *huh*!

Unless you made the reds purple-ish on purpose with the lighting, I'd recommend taking your photos and hue-shifting them back into the reds with a photo editor, like below.

DinoBots transform! Lots of fun with the names here. Solid color scheme as well. The transformation ability pushes it over the top.

Thank you! I love that Ice Planet visor! I also love sticking any visor that works on the Classic Space helmet, but the full face visors don't really "seal" so I stick the the oddball ones.

I'm super glad to hear these invoke the feeling of real classic Space sets!

I love the play features! Super fun, and great mix of nostalgic build with updated techniques.

Thank you!

Dude, help! I think I must have acquired some sort of mild color blindness. I can't even see the difference between our pics. I also found out a few things about my phone: it has 12m and 50m settings, and people say to use the 12m one inside, and turn off the phone's Scene Optimizer but leave on Auto HDR. So I tried that with hopefully better lighting and got this:

Another Group Test Shot

I don't know if it's better. I think I need brighter lighting still. Thoughts?

Off to read the Lego Photography thread...

This new photo still seems to be different - I put the colours side by side below:

I actually don't know that much about photography myself, but maybe your display is old and has a shallow colour depth, so the pics would look the same to you. I don't know if there are camera settings which could improve colour accuracy.

Maybe someone else can confirm that the colours are different so it doesn't look like I'm trolling or something .

Damn. I definitely see the different reds in your example. I just figured out how to set the white balance on my camera (which is an Android phone camera and might not be that great in the first place). Maybe my next try will be better.
