ArtemyZotov Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) Hello everyone! I finished another FF car in 1/12 scale - Sean's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Scale: 1:12 Length x Width x Height: 40 x 17 x 12 cm Features: - detachable body - steering wheel connected to the front wheels with a control knob - working 4-piston engine - openable bonnet, trunk and doors - full independent suspension - authentic stickers Rebrickable page: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-227138 The doors have dual arm hinges which will be shown in the upcoming video review As you can see, this time I've finally managed to add suspension to the chassis in this scale. Mostly because the hood is higher than in the previous cars I built. The engine bay goes with some details inside, including an engine cover (red), a battery (blue), a strut bar between the shock absorbers and a hood support rod. I used claw part (53451) as spokes to add an interesting look to the wheels, matching the design from the movie (the wheels were black with a metallic ring outside). A video review will be released later with the RC version. Edited July 22 by ArtemyZotov Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Very great job on this build. Certainly the mechanicals are just as they should be, but I'm most impressed with the patience it must have taken to get all the bodywork details just right. I love the grill, and the details on the wheels are such a great idea. Well done. Quote
astyanax Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I'm just impressed by the way Technic and System bricks have been combined. Normally I'm very wary of mixing them, as the result will easily look jagged and just wrong. But here it works. Very skillful! Quote
Corrado Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Looks stunning! Particularly like the way you've shaped the front and rear wheel arches. Quote
Jundis Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Nobody mentions how the rim was styled? That is genious actually! :D Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Mitsubishi Lancer is one of my favorite models; I find its lines very harmonious and its front end extremely attractive! Your model reflects these characteristics. Quote

R0Sch Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Perfect candidate for your next CaDA Master set perhaps? I'd certainly buy it, even though I detest the F&F franchise, but I love the Evo IX. Don't know how you manage to bring this much level of detail to Technic, but this looks more like an RC car than a construction toy. Quote

Zerobricks Posted August 22 Posted August 22 (edited) Amazing attention to details, and I'm really impressed with the door mechanism and the wheel design. And the removal of self-supporting body and replaycing the chassis with a motorized one... Just brilliant! Subscribed and (re)featured! Edited August 22 by Zerobricks Quote
