Lego has introduced unique/ exclusive animals to the CMF line in the past, right?

It’s been the best source for small and medium new animals over many years: most of them end up being reused, recoloured or reprinted elsewhere, but often the CMF versions are unique.

One thing I am very glad about is the fact the cat and koala masks leaked before we were told this would be an animal series. At least there was then reasonable expectation this may be an all costumed series rather than getting our hopes through the roof  that each figure would have an animal accessory only to find out this wasn’t the case. I’m still expecting all costumes right now but secretly hoping the cat and koala masks are red herrings!

I can understand a lot of AFOLs wishing for new animal molds in so-called “Animals” Series. I don’t care  if it’s full of costumed chracters, anthromphic chracters, or normal characters with animal accessories.  I would be upside to see Seires 28 as a mixture of minifigures like Space Series 24.

I still wish for prehistoric creature babies tho lol.

I would've said the same several years ago, but City has actually been going toe to toe with CMF lately. Squirrels, kittens, puppy, seal (baby and adult), polar bear cub, baby gorilla, baby elephant, monkie, lion/big cat cub, Arctic fox.

Still, the point stands that CMF can and does introduce animal moulds with superb regularity.

How about Arctic ground squirrel, deer mice, voles, and even the squirrel-rat “Scrat”?  Baby dinosaurs? Maybe not woolly mammmoth calf or giant ground sloth baby.

Dedicated baby rex mold maybe? The 2018 one leans closer on the general purpose side

Ugh, i hope so! Of course, Jurassic World and Marvel themes have dinosaur babies lately so i don’t know how likely it would be for non-licensed CMF series. Lego is Competely unprecitable.

Wonder which ones of these are 'repeats' from previous releases? I could see, peacock, bunny, lion and parrot being based out of previous hats.

Disappointed that there is no prehistoric creature!!!

Need to see pictures before I make up my mind about this series.   The descriptions don't sound that great to me. I may get a few but overall I'm not thrilled about these based on the leaked descriptions.

Is that Koala Costume Fan’s boomerang a new piece?  I cant’ remember seeing it in existing / past sets before.

anyways, the list sounds interesting. I mentioend so where that I inital all predicited that there won’t be animal molds included becuase they would put budget toward aniaml costumes. W The list might be inaccurate so early so we will see.

No mater how much I love animal molds and the fact they might not be included, I’m happy with costuem CMF series.

There’s an existing boomerang piece. I don’t think any of the accessories stand out as being, or including, new moulds

Ah i see.  Yes, the way I look at the list, it doens’t sound like new accessories at all. But it doens’t bother me.  I’m looking forward to see how well they design - printing, dual-molded leg or arm or maybe headgear/mask, new face prints, unique headgear/mask,  etc etc.

Totally agree.  I'm not really liking the sound of these.  Maybe pics will change my mind but these seem not so great and not really any good accessories either from the sounds of it.

The frog's bubble blower and the Dalmatian's Frisbee are both possibly new - especially the bubble blower. There's a chance either of them could be printed tiles, though.

The Frisbee could be just a 2x2 round tile

From the list I guess only the Bunny (and maybe the Peacock) wont have new parts

You could be right about a bubble blower! Like Robert8 said, I think a frisbee would be a 2x3 rounded tile just like Althete form recent CMF series.

Could they reuse the lion head mould from Harry Potter?

I also wonder if they’ll reuse the bird costume headpiece for the parrot, although the beak would be ‘off’.

I also initially thought the lizard mould could be reused for the croc but the snout is a bit short.

I would not put it past Lego to reuse as many items as possible.

Depends whether the HP mould is under some licence lock.

I expect a new mould for the parrot, but the existing mould for the peacock.

I would think that the lizard mould won’t be reused - it’s not croc enough, PLUS it’s really old, and hasn’t seen any reuse since CMF series 5, which was fourteen years ago, I think! Would love to see a dorsal tail piece like the lizard costume used show up again though.

I think I’m most interested to see how they tackle the dolphin & the fish, as well as whether the frog costume gets any new feet elements.

Yeah i can’t see how likely they will reuse the HP lion mask for Lion ostume.

i think Peaccok mask would be more unique since it has crest / feathers sticking form the top of head.  And Parrot mask might have beaker thicker or longer, take a look at Pteranodon costume’s mask from the very recent regular CMF series (even tho it’s not thick).

I am wondering how consistent they will be with the headpieces. In the past, there have been many variants.

The more recent CNY bunny had the whole minifig face showing, and a whole animal head in the headpiece.

The original bunny costume had the whole minifig face showing, with only bunny ears. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be the only such version?

Lastly, there was that cat costume girl from series 18 where the head was 'mascot-style' with the cat face/ head just having holes for the minifig eyes.

Depends on if you count the Nesquik bunny or not.
