All of the Star Wars SB Sets are going to be sold in 6 countries only, I don't wish the same to happen with City. As for new power functions components, how about a rechargeable hub for a change. Or a return to 9v? Those old school motors were great for shunters and small locos. I'm not sure about the possibility of having a shunter for the cargo train, at least if powered up stays for the summer trains. My guess is a loco close to 60470 if it uses Powered Up. I'm curious to see that size of loco being used in a regular train. Edited February 3 by Powered by Bricks Quote

Maybe the shunter could utilize a smaller version of the pre-existing powered up hub, only one port and not as powerful, but only half the height Quote
TeriXeri Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) City definately could use some new actual City, I mean, the airport is fairly big and at least a little bit modular (technic pins to change layout). 60473 The City Tower doesn't seem like a big hit with it's retirement already planned before August 2026. 2026 so far with vehicle-heavy frontloaded but understandable with apparently the 2022 police station popular enough to warrant staying for at least 2026 and existing fire/prison infrastructure. Probably have to wait for either Creator / Friends or 2027 to see anything urban. But maybe the amount of huge-high-price buildings in the past year is taking it's toll a bit oversaturating/overbudgeting the LEGO lineup between icons (usually overscaled) and Friends. That said, the amount of vehicles in City means they can keep Friends, mostly focused on buildings, but a lot of the designs are very standalone and not part of a greater system of connectivity. Although sets like the rooms and 42680 Heartlake City Mini Supermarket may inspire kids/adults to finish the actual buildings themselves. But even Friends doesn't really live up to some of the strengths of older 3-in-1 line , which didn't rely on so many stickers for details. Still looks like a much better "era" for train fans and heavy construction equipment, as there is a lot more choice in recent years. Edited February 12 by TeriXeri Quote

Far too little city in City, it should be renamed to Vehicles. It's a pretty depressing year overall for someone interested in buildings, like me. I have little hope for any nice, small and reasonably priced buildings in Creator like the Noodle Shop and the Toy Shop. There the focus seems to be entirely on animals and objects nowadays. We got 0 city-like buildings in Creator last year (I don't consider the Haunted House city-like), the year before that we only got the Modern House and before that we got the Cozy House and Main Street. The latter was horribly overpriced for being a Creator building with no unique prints, at least here in Sweden. It also had a lot of garish colours that did not appeal to me personally. It didn't seem to sell well here since it was on sale almost everywhere, which I attribute to the price and design, not a lack of interest in buildings. Even me and my friend, who are both building-focused, waited for the 50% discounts before considering buying it. To me, there are extremely few options for any buildings at the moment. Friends has nice buildings as always, but also in not that appealing colours as usual and the minidolls are not useful. Superheroes have some nice buildings, but here you have to pay the IP tax on top of paying for a lot of not really useful minifigs. The only ones I currently have on my list this year is the modular and the airport. I guess this will be a good year for my wallet though. /end rant Edited February 12 by Jiesdeo spelling Quote

Powered by Bricks Posted February 16 Posted February 16 If there’s one thing I love, it’s trains and buildings, sadly one is gaining the spotlight while the other suffered badly last year and isn’t getting much attention. 2027 better have a ton of buildings to pay off this “debt”. I keep searching and finding many interesting sets from the 90s and 80s and keep wanting to see a modern city counterpart. Come to think of it there’s a certain set that looks awfully similar to this new one. Hear me out. -Both Sets Feature a Crane and Truck -This old one features only flatbed cars/wagons, the new one is harbour related supposedly, until now a cargo ship just carries containers, could this newcomer feature a few flatbed wagons that only transport containers maybe less than usual. The difference between the port train and the last cargo train in piece count is 300ish pieces, mighty just feature some cuts somewhere. Quote

Izzynufc-2 Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 So an update from itavix_bricks on Instagram. 60511 Retro Steam Train should be looking similar to 910044 but smaller. 60480 Yellow Backhoe Loader has two minifigures and uses smaller tires. 60494 Dump Truck and Front Loader are two separate vehicles about $50 size and the set includes a small office building in a shipping container. It also has a sign saying construction underway with a figure on it. I am hoping the Dump Truck is based on the Volvo Articulated 6 wheel dump truck as one of those would fit into the Lego City Construction line of recent years. Quote

When you say uses smaller tires for the Yellow Backhoe Loader, is that in comparison to tires used on the just recently released teal colored tractor set? If so, then I was never expecting the tires to be that big. What will be interesting if the front/back tires are the same size(like the Digger set from years ago) or front smaller than the back ones. Dump Truck/Front Loader set sounds even better now, and explains the 120 bux price tag. A small office building in a shipping container basically means it's the construction contractors office, that is the size of a shipping container or tractor trailer container. 4 hours ago, Izzynufc-2 said: So an update from itavix_bricks on Instagram. I’m assuming it is a comparison of tires. I can’t see them realising another low bed dump truck this year. It’ll either be 7631 but 3x bigger or 4202 but 2x bigger. With the connection between the cab and interior from 60471, I feel it’ll go down that route but with a dump truck, which is why I think it’ll be based off a Volvo articulated 6 wheeler dump truck. Parts of me are also wondering, could the shipping container also have a trailer for the tractor to pull? I doubt it but you never know! Edited February 19 by Izzynufc-2 Quote

Jb10bo Posted February 20 Posted February 20 A conex office in 60494 is actually pretty cool and shouldn't eat up too much of the piece count. I'm looking forward to seeing what they came up with on the vehicles, I'm sure they will be good. I wonder what blueprints we will see in this set. 60480 having smaller tires is good to hear, but what tires?? Time will tell. With double the piece count of 60385, I would assume this one will have a decent sized side build also and substantially more detail to the backhoe. Quote
Izzynufc-2 Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 I’m also wondering which rides we will get in the Lava Land Amusement Park or which vehicles come with the pizzeria. Could we get a tuk tuk style pizza delivery truck? Time will tell Quote
Izzynufc-2 Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Do you think we are likely to get an upgraded version of 7760 in a future City set? Quote
BrickProStudios Films Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) It Looks like there’s a new chassis/vehicle base element in the Police Train set. Seems to almost be a mix of the 2020-24 wheel base, and the larger one introduced last year. I wonder if we’ll see it reappear in the summer wave? I’m really curious to see how big the office building is. With over 1100 pieces, I’m hoping it’s at least a decent size, especially compared to the two vehicles. In terms of the equipment, based on the current CITY standards, I could see the Loader being similar in size to the 2014 technic one from 42023 (Construction Crew), if not slightly smaller. The dump truck is hard to guess. After recently building the tow truck, I wouldn’t mind if they tried to do a more polished tipper truck, maybe in a tractor trailer configuration, however I also could see them going in the direction of 2009’s articulated dump truck, but upscaled a bit. However, I also wouldn’t be surprised if the title train is just a couple of open wagons with cargo, with the primary focus being on the trackside crane & the truck. I could easily see this one as being intended to pair with the steam train, which is likely motorized. Edited February 25 by BrickProStudios Films Quote

Lavaland I feel will have a few little rides something similar to the crazy frog ride that jumps. I feel we are due a Lego City diesel shunter and I think the port freight train would be a great opportunity to do it. I do have a feeling that the steam train will be based off a classic American Wild West one. The Pizzeria I reckon will be a similar size to the ice cream parlour we got a few years ago, but with a pizza oven. Quote
BlueLanturnCorp Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I'm pleased we're getting more for the Construction subtheme. The crane, excavator, bulldozer and Cement mixer have all been excellent stand alone sets, and the truck that's a "side build" to 60467 is great too. Getting a front loader, dump truck and backhoe are all excellent too and will likely be great builds too. I'd love to see if we get a transport truck with JCB or excavator like 4203 would be nice, and maybe a larger steamroller in the new yellow too. Quote

A large motor grader would be a nice addition too! Quote
Izzynufc-2 Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 I’d like to see a wheeled excavator or mini excavator to go along with 60420, or even a railway excavator too, I’d like to see a proper skid steer with tracks, or a Telehandler which is overdue, a grader which we have never had a Lego City grader before, a crawler crane is definitely due with a wrecking ball, a larger steam roller would be lovely as well as a stand alone tower crane too. We are due a heavy haulage truck in the style of 60440, 60445 and 60408. Quote
