Purely speculation though.. What I was picturing for the backhoe was the BL71. Either way, I agree that they would have to have a new mold for the backhoe bucket. The one from 60420 would be far too big and 4626 is too small and hasn't been made in over 20 years. Not to mention they don't even use that connection type anymore. Can definitely see the dump truck being based from Volvos iconic articulated dump truck Quote
Mondo-TRON Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Can't wait to see all the train sets. I would like to get a steam train however i don't like it only having one car. Even two I don't like. IMO it needs to have three cars to feel complete. Also the option of adding a motor. Disappointed of no new City Space sets. However, I don't have any of the larger sets yet, so not have new sets would give me time to save and get those. Quote

Just took a look at a Volvo BL71, and too me it looks like a cross between a CAT and JCB Backhoe Loader(kind of an ugly duckling of backhoes). JCB Backhoe's are the most used world wide outside the United States(is pretty much dominated by CAT), and JCB is the grandfather of the front loader backhoes. Quote

It’ll be likely based on a JCB one, just with the mammoth logo. Quote

I agree 100% with this - would have loved the option of buying more Orient Express carriages separately or something like the Metroliner (my favourite set of all time), where they released a separate compatible club car. I do wish Lego trains were more than just a new passenger train, freight train and platform every few years. Would be great to have lots of sets a bit like Hornby with various additional parts like bridges, signals, etc Quote

But imagine having a new series for trains in the style of Speed Champions for cars - 8 stud wide trains, rolling stock sold separately. Maybe even licensed stuff? Who wouldn't want to see a Siemens Vectron or an old British Rail Class 08 shunter? Quote

FinlayTheFaithful Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I'm honestly hoping we get something like this for that retro steam train for the summer (The image might be a tad too big haha) Quote
bright22 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I have just built The Lego Van and Fires Food Truck. I am quite surprised about the quality for this vehicles. Yes, I said a lot of negativity for Lego City series in this 10 years, but I would say these 2 sets are really good. I would give 9/10 for Fires Food Truck and 10/10 for The Lego Van. Quite impressive, design and the scales are really good Quote

Powered by Bricks Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) 100€ Cargo Train? Interesting... Classic Tram, is it based on the old-school trams, or something close to the 2010 tram? Lava Land seems promising, curious how the City Crew handled a Theme Park design. So the Pizza Set is an Actual Pizzeria 60512 is looking like a limited release. So it seems the 2026 rotation of trains gave us a twist: An affordable Cargo Train and a classic passenger train. The wave overall is packed with less expensive sets. Great! However I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how can they release a 100€ Cargo Train. And how big is the Steam Train gonna be? (Last year's Holiday Train has 800-900 pieces and look at it!) 2026 overall gave me the most of hope ever, many sets that I've been longing to see actually coming?! Are they listening to us? I've got a hunch it might be based off of those smaller industrial ones used as shunters (or switchers if you're outside of the UK), would be a nice departure from the stereotypical 4-6-0s that TLG keeps making Quote

Quote
sebulba56 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I also think the 3 train sets will be like the 60423 : a very simple train, a side build and some section of tracks. But WHAT IF ? What if those are the long awaited replacement for powered up ? Like those could have some miniaturised motors and hub that make them able to make smaller trains, like circuit cube. I know I am daydreaming but what do you think ? 6 hours ago, DanOfBricks said: Could 60501 be some kind of smaller roller coaster set? I agree. Quote
Driver Brandon Grumman Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Currently, the only set from this wave that my eyes are on is the pizzeria. Quote

A Freight Train having those components and costing only 100€, is it possible? Same goes for the Steam Train. Funny how LEGO is doing a lot of train releases nowadays. Quote
Izzynufc-2 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 I’m hoping for a 4-6-2 locomotive for the steam train and I’m predicting a diesel shunter for the Port Freight train Quote

Yes maybe, that would allow to make smaller locomotives an thus smaller trains that would fit a smaller budget. Circuit cube has a bluetooth hub that works via a small rechargable battery wich is 4x4x2 connected to a 2x4x1 motor so I guess this is not impossible technically.
