Man I wish I could go back in time and get some of those sets I missed. 

Oh boy! I wish I could buy some those sets aswell. 2023 House, 2022 Supermarket and Station have gone up in price in the second hand market, it's uncanny! 

But for the rest, I don't regret missing those as I recently bought most 2nd hand for dirt cheap. (60308 for 7 euros and 60329 for 13).

I'm curious to see if there'll be any kind of remake of some of these sets.

Yeah that's because the supermarket was so rare. It was literally the first and only one ever made by City and the only way to snag the Mr. Producci minifigure from City Adventures. There was also a high demand for it too. Same with the house and train station.

Well Mr. Produce was also in the Advent Calendar, so that doesn't quite make sense, but It's true about the rest.

I meant it was the only way to get him as far as regular City sets are concerned.

I think my only disappointment about the 2026 wave was the fact that they didn't bring back the old splashers from 2005-2023. That was a great piece.

Are there 2 factions trying to rob the train? Is helicopter pilot same figure than that girl in other set? Who is that detective with star badge? Could there be new city animation from Police... Cobras... who are they?

Guy on wanted poster robs train BUT then comes Cobras... and rob safe and his car... looks like POLICE does not have any chance. I really hope some of this parts like the wanted poster comes to Pick a Brick (LEGO.com). ... There are 3 robbers... but not same faction,,,,,,,,,,

I think every Lego city  exclusive print has been on PaB in the past few years, right? You'll be fine there

Just so you know @Driver Brandon Grumman, two of those parts are on the modular building's GWP, the vintage parade car, in white. So the part is still around and has not been retired.

So the piece is still there. It's just not used with City anymore. Got it.

I don't know if there's a single prescribed "story" to the set (instead just the elements to tell one with the various elements involved). The helicopter pilot can be trying to steal the car, the safe, or both, and free the inmate. But yeah, the female criminal in the helicopter seems to be the same one from the other set.

Personally, rather than "factions" I interpreted it as various criminals working together to pull off the heist. Maybe even the imprisoned one on the train car tracking the train's movements from the inside. With the train's location known (and with it, the safe and impounded car that could be evidence from a previous case), the crooks make their move, using the helicopter to bust their comrade out, drop down a getway driver to escort him away in the impounded car, and airlift the safe away. By splitting up (with one group escaping by land and one by air) they hope to have a better chance of making a clean getaway!

Until now there are no factions, on the train set it's clear that it's just a duo of thieves trying to free their partner behind bars. We've got factions before but this doesn't seem to be the case. 

In 2020-22 we've got the Fendrich Goons/Henchmen

In 2019 we've got the Ravens/Crows for the Sky Police. 

Ever since it's just simple and quick storytelling. The decal might just be there for decorative purposes and make the vehicle feel less bland in colors. 

Personally I get vibes off KillBill and GTA V with this set.

It’ll be interesting to see what these sets are.

I'd LOVE a smaller diesel shunter that's compatible with the upcoming trains and any pre-existing ones. Maybe it could be a good opportunity to make some new connecting rods and smaller driving wheels (Especially the latter since the ones used for the 2012 ghost train carriages can't fit on track). I'm not too sure if it could support a motor, old or new, on it's own tho

Why you are thinking SUMMER 2026 sets? When we have Q1 / 2026 sets coming... so you don't like them? 2024 sets, 2025 sets... so many interesting sets. More than 100 in 2 years...

Nobody said they didn't like the upcoming sets - far from it. Also, Q1 2025 sets released January 2025, so I can only assume you mean Q1 2026. Since we probably know of everything coming in January, it is natural to talk of Summer 2026. This cycle of looking forward into the future when all sets are known is a time-honored tradition that goes back to the foundations of the LEGO online fandom...

Well we need new BASE for police. Now we have only 2022 and 2023 versions.

I’m not keen on the Jan 2026 City sets at all so won’t be buying any despite being mainly a City collector. There are too many vehicles that I don’t think look that great or fit the happy, friendly vibe of my town. I like my Lego environments to feel peaceful (to complement the concept of mindfulness when building), rather than the ridiculous Fast & Furious vibe some of these sets have. I hope the summer sets offer something better. It looks like lots of vehicles again - I’m hoping there are several safari vehicles with accompanying animals, a tuk tuk, and a small boat with sea lions.

From this wave I am getting the 60498 Tractor.

From the first second I saw it I knew I loved it! It's so chubby! Very nice shaping, nice tires and attractive color scheme.

As for potential cons, the driver is completely recycled from set 60461, that doesn't bother me though as I don't have that set so this minifig is new to me.

Another thing is having only one minifig, compared to 60287 which had two and also some sidebuild this one is lacking on the inherent play value. Meaning there's no extra implications or suggestion of a play scenario this is just a barebones guy driving a tractor. As a drop in set however it's a win, for people that already have some sort of farm cobbled together from older sets and extra modded stuff this will be a very welcome addition.

I’ve also noticed the logo on the front which is a bull.

So I wonder if we will see more farming related sets in the future

I hope so, and the bull apparently is the logo for farm sets so why make that and make a point out of it if they did not plan more sets in the future
