I would like to add some to my modular city. New molds I've spotted include: Both the front and rear bucket on the 60480 Backhoe Loader, which have two Technic pinholes to attach instead of the three used on some larger Technic buckets. Thin tractor tires on the same Backhoe Loader set A very promising 2x2 boulder with a top and bottom section. The top is two plates tall and the bottom is three plates tall (with an attachment similar to the 2x2 inverted dome/bowl). I'm very excited for this piece because it provides a nice compact alternative to classic 4x4 boulder elements. It appears in dark tan in the construction sets and opalescent trans purple in one of the Friends sets. The pug in 60494 and 60506 Haven't seen any other obvious ones yet. It's possible that there's some more functional/structural ones built into some of the sets, but it's also possible that most of those sorts of parts debuted in the first half of the year (which had quite a few novel new parts for City). There's also several sets we haven't seen as well as the Lava Land set which we've only seen one small picture of so far. Edited April 24 by Lyichir Quote

Thank you for the figuring those new vodka. :) Now you mentioned a boulder piece, I’m actually excited about it too! Quote
FinlayTheFaithful Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) Since we've collectively agreed on the port train being a small shunter at this point, maybe it could use one of these mould king train motors without the pins to make up for not having the size for a hub (Edit: Whoops, might be a bit too big) Edited April 25 by FinlayTheFaithful Quote

Driver Brandon Grumman Posted April 25 Posted April 25 My mind is still on that steam engine though. I plan to buy that one on release day. Quote

Lyichir Posted Friday at 03:54 PM Posted Friday at 03:54 PM That's the pic we'd seen before. But on that note, Big W (Australian retailer) has more pics! https://www.bigw.com.au/product/lego-city-lava-land-roller-coaster-park-60501/p/6061860 Quote

Hopefully they’re not exclusives. Looks like the roller coaster theme park gig has spread to friends Edited Friday at 05:29 PM by Powered by Bricks Quote

Powered by Bricks Posted Friday at 11:22 PM Posted Friday at 11:22 PM Well Now everything's been revealed. The Freight train guesses we're correct, interesting to see a 3677 loco remake as a shunter. Only bad thing about the set being the crane. The mountain bike set is nice aswell, interesting door mechanism. Also nice to see an off road van in that size. If anyone wants to see pics go and look for unibricks on instagram. Quote
icm Posted Friday at 11:36 PM Posted Friday at 11:36 PM The approach they're taking to trains this year is interesting: sell just the trains without motors or track loops at a lower price point, then sell motors and track separately. I like it, but I don't know how accessible the tracks and motors are right now and I don't know how easy they're going to be to integrate. But in principle, this is a good way to broaden the audience for train sets as it lowers the barrier to entry without degrading the build. Quote
BrickProStudios Films Posted Friday at 11:49 PM Posted Friday at 11:49 PM After seeing the full wave in HD, I think the only highlights for this wave for me are the Tram, the Steam engine, the two construction vehicle sets, and the Car Wash. The overall wave has some interesting concepts, but I dont think they all quite hit the mark. My Thoughts on the wave: 60480: Backhoe looks good. The narrow tires and new buckets are a bonus. 60492: Pretty impressive plane for a 4+ set, especially considering the last 4+ plane 60494: Both vehicles are fantastic. Glad to see they're following the scale of the Bulldozer, Tractor, and Excavator. Really curious to see how they continue this line going forward. 60496: I like the car, and the scooter. The pizza center itself, not so much. I can kind of see the direction they were going for though. 60497: I like the car wash itself. Cars look too squished on the smaller 60508 chassis though. 60501: I like the idea, but rather than a coaster, I do think more of an amusement park would have been better instead. 60506: Probably my favorite set from the wave, aside from the construction stuff. Tram looks magnificent, and the new sunglasses face will work well for police. Beach side build is great too. 60509: Name was really misleading. Truck looks really simplified compared to the previous rigs they've done. 60510: Figures are neat. 60511: Train looks great, same for the carriage, but $120 CAD is a lot. The Back to the Future reference is great though. 60512: Truck is cool and unique. Quote
Lyichir Posted Saturday at 02:03 AM Posted Saturday at 02:03 AM The office container from the Dump Truck and Front End Loader set looks like it will fit on the flatbed cars in the Freight Train set, that's a nice little bit of compatibility. Quote

Izzynufc-2 Posted Saturday at 09:04 AM Author Posted Saturday at 09:04 AM I was right with 60509 including a shunting locomotive, we were due a Lego City shunter. I do hope to see more trains next year themed around subthemes like a fire train or construction train. Would love to see a Combine Harvester in the size of th excavator, bulldozer and tractor, as well as a telehandler too. The steam train gives me pre grouping locomotive vibes, something you’ll see at the Railway Museum. I hope they continue with the vintage/classic subtheme, maybe through in a double decker bus similar to a London routemaster. Quote
Lion King Posted Saturday at 12:21 PM Posted Saturday at 12:21 PM Are there some new printed elements in Advent Calendar other than minifigure parts and animal? Quote

DanOfBricks Posted Saturday at 04:52 PM Posted Saturday at 04:52 PM Correct me if I'm wrong. Most of the countries outside the US, Summer City sets are released in June, and then for the US released in August? Quote

How come its always the good sets that we've gotta wait for? Its like Lego is deliberately doing this and trying to get under our skin. They use holiday season as an excuse, as if other countries don't celebrate Christmas. Edited Saturday at 09:46 PM by Driver Brandon Grumman Quote
