LegoLord1880 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Here is a link to a video on bricksafe of my starter motor mechanism. It uses a semi stationary 8t gear to make a worm gear "crawl" along an axle until it engages a 24t gear at the end, which would be attached to a vacuum engine crankshaft. When it starts, the worm gear is kicked out of the way, similar to a real bendix gear starter. Has anything like this ever been done before? I'd be interested to know. aeh5040 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Interesting! It would be good to see a video of it in action. Quote

aFrInaTi0n Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Video does work, may have been overseen as it may have the thumbnail which may not clearly indicate it as a video.. direct URL to the video: https://bricksafe.com/files/LegoLord1880/vvt-vacuum-engine/technic-starter-motor-prototype/20250324_125117.mp4 Can also just add: Neat little thing :D Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted March 25 Posted March 25 That is a cool mechanism! It's really neat how something seemingly complex can be done with such a simple automatic mechanism Quote
