Hey everyone! Finally finished this thing. It's been sitting on my desk since summer 2023

The goal was to create a modern Caribbean Clipper. My last attempt was a little too "chibi". The original dimensions weren't long enough and it looked a little weird. The new one is MUCH better. It's smaller than the new Barracuda in every dimension save width (obviously). Even the sides sit lower (which was a frustrating trick - the Barracuda is engineered really well).

So here it is, Broadside's Brigantine!

Port

I wished I had included more figures before I took the pictures. Afterwards, I didn't have the heart to re-edit.

Bow

Obligatory "Endurance" shot. The owl is illegal (I found a great matching spray paint).

Stern 2

Stern. I'm glad Lego has a reasonable Fleur tile!

Stern Cabin

I'm proud of the bluecoat flag blanket!

Let me know what you think!

Oh, that's so beautiful! I think this might be my favorite redesign of the Caribbean Clipper that I've seen thus far. It definitely evokes the original very nicely, even with the re-arranged sail plan (which definitely helps the two masts make a little more sense). The bed in the governor's cabin is indeed ingeniously constructed!

You even made great use of the belowdecks area, despite the main deck being so low compared to that of the Black Seas Barracuda. The beds converting into cannon emplacements without any additional modding is particularly impressive!

The one thing absent here that I wish had been included is is a gap in the side railings (at least on the port side) for a gangplank or ladder that can be used for loading/unloading the ship.

Thanks for the kind words. I totally forgot about the gaps!! :pir-murder:

Great looking ship! I like the balance between the colors and the overall proportions of the ship. Is it a seagull hanging on the wall in the galley?

I dug through a bunch of 18th century ship galley pictures and several had hanging chickens (feathers and all). The seagull pose was identical, so I went for it.

I hope that the crew doesn't find out what the "chicken" actually is.

The extra hull section really improves the balance of this set :-)

What are the blue bricks in the bed?  That looks incredible!

It really does! The feedback from the previous iteration really helped.

Part is 73230 Technic 1x1 brick with axle hole in Dark Azure.
