Franco Clarke Posted January 6 Posted January 6 This is quite an incredible model, definitely a must-buy. Quote
Papaladin Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Video and pictures looks great ! Anybody figured out how the cabin door is fixed ? Love the small form factor of these cabin doors ! (yes, i know, out of the complete build, that's the part that got my attention...) Quote
BrickPerfection Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) Embark on an epic voyage with thePrivateer Frigate Fortuna — a swift and graceful 18th-century warship crafted for daring expeditions and high-seas adventure. This stunning 4,000-piece model is perhaps the closest a LEGO® creation has ever come to a historically accurate sailing frigate from the final years of the Golden Age of Piracy. Pre-orders start on February 16th, 2026! https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-7/2609/Privateer-Frigate-Fortuna Edited January 6 by BrickPerfection Quote
F1stzz Posted January 6 Posted January 6 It's a damn shame this coincides with Bricklink closing operations in 35 countries by the end of January – it always feels good to support the creator via directly pre-ordering the set, but oh well Legitimately, this is the best treat the LEGO Imperials have gotten in 21st century. This build is out of this world cool, preserving playability & combining it with some outstanding advanced building techniques is what LEGO sailing ships should all be about in the era post Barracuda Bay – and this is a prime example of the ongoing evolution. The swappable stickers for the flags & nameplate is just amazing to have as well Can't wait to pay double-triple the price on local secondary markets just cos TLG couldn't care less these days – but will absolutely be getting it regardless, Fortuna/Minerva is a definitive must have Quote

Pre-ordering a set went through the LEGO site anyway, so... Quote
Rogue Redcoat Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The frigate sure is a beauty, I might mess with the color scheme a bit, but it looks good as is. Details look amazing, the cannons got a nice upgrade from the proposed ones. Minifigs aren't that bad either for a BDP set. Sails seem to be the main gripe. Personally, I don't care. I want to be looking at the main part of the set, not something hidden under sails. As for the price, I don't really see a problem at 350 USD, surely it's a bit expensive, but for the 4087 parts, 20 minifigures, and a great design its not that bad (not quite sure why at the current exchange rate european folks are paying 50$ extra but...). Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to purchasing! Quote
PxChris Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I think this one is worth breaking my BDP ban on. I'm planning to get one. Quote
TalonCard Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I'm liking this set more and more every time I see it--they did a really nice job with the minifigures considering the limitations. And the multiple flags (especially the historically inspired Jolly Roger design) are an excellent touch. It's expensive, but hopefully this will be a good option for folks who are in the market for an Imperial ship and missed out on the Imperial Flagship back in the day. Quote
