I’ve compiled my full top 50 now  Dexter is #30, Greez #37, and Rebel Friend not even on the list :snicker:

As promised, a few hints:

  • It’s a character from a movie or show. All of my top 50 have appeared either in live-action, a cartoon, or a game :classic:
  • They have lines and are important to the plot.
  • The minifig would definitely require a new piece.

Well, I'm barely scratching the surface, then.

Oh wow... How have i not seen this coming in the first place? It's obviously Fode and Beed. They check the new mould requirement and do have lines. Just not too sure if they would qualify for being important enough to the plot.

If not... how about Wat Tambor?

Your hints basically rule out any Podracer participants or Cantina Aliens. So I'm not gonna bother asking for any of these numerous characters. Even though some of them are probably in your Top 50 of most wanted minifigures.

Scale of ‘plot’ is unclear.

So I’m going to spit ball and guess a few candidates: Wat Tambor, Tera Sinube, Mother Talzin, Gorian Shard, L3-37, or Republic Crosshair?

Not on the list, #26, and not on the list :snicker: Boss Nass is #31. All eras are represented on my list, but the PT characters have all been named now except for one, who’s #44.

Dangit, forgot about Talzin and Satine! In order not to ruin the rankings, Talzin is now #49 and Satine #50, replacing Almec and Quiggold respectively ^^ Tera is #46.

Ohhhh, you’re good!! Gorian is #4, Republic Crosshair #5, and L3 #9! :sweet:

Eh, I have a hunch your #1 character is from the more modern era of Star Wars. Or on the contrary, someone from a long ago TV show episode. Possibly someone I don't recognize by name, just by looks.

Anyways, how about the "Frog Lady" from Mando's second or Gorian Shard from the third season?

Whoops, Gorian Shard was already guessed. Clone Commando from The Bad Batch, then.

Correct! There’s only one pre-Disney character within the top 10 of my list, and that’s #10 ^^

Frog Lady and a Clone Commando are not on the list, but certainly in my top 100 if I ever go that far

Oh, I think I'm screwed, then. At least without doing extensive amount of research. :enough:

Oh great, that's very comforting for me to hear. If this fact alone doesn't motivate me to keep going, I don't know what will. :head_back:

Can you tell me, in regards to the actual naming of the character, is it a reasonable name or is it more, well, Star Wars-y? From a scale from one (Timm) to ten (Pao's longe name from RO), how ridiculous is it? :hmpf:

Speaking of which, is it actually Pao from Rogue One?

Very Star-Wars-y ^^ Not ridiculously so tho! I’d say 8-9?

Pao already got his minifig in 2016 :snicker: Another hint: It’s not a character from Rogue One or Andor since we already got the characters I wanted most from them, with one exception at #38. Or two, to be precise! They share that spot.

Okay, that's what I was afraid about.

Oh, that's right. I mistook him for a missing minifigure because I associated him with a new head mould, but forgot they went with a regular head and printed details.

I'm almost sure at this point that it's from a TV show. Not just because that's what the majority of Disney Star Wars is based on, but because a new piece might be more likely for a new head mould, rather than just a helmet. And the Alien characters that Lego is legt to make are usually too obscure to be relevant to the plot, let alone don't have many lines of dialogue.

Oh dear... The Fourth Sister (Lyn Rakish) from the Kenobi show?

Good guess, but no! She’s #21 ^^

You’re right though in that it’s a character from a show! :classic: There are only two characters in my top 25 that appear in movies!

I was going to guess SM-33 until you said this.

Now. Who needs an exclusive mold from Kenobi (purge trooper aside)

Freck!!!!!! Friend to all stormtroopers.

I wonder what other OT locations/ vehicles will be plagued with Smart Bricks next march?

Definitely a Landspeeder. It’s been a while since the last minifig-compatible one, and we only had two cantina-related sets that didn’t feature it.

Alright, since I never watched the Skeleton Crew, I never stood a chance of guessing the right character. Could have guessed a few more of your personal Top 50 picks, though.

I highly recommend SC! It’s a fun adventure with likeable characters and a different and fresh flavour of SW ^^ SM-33 is my #1 pick because he’s extremely vital to the plot (to the point the story wouldn’t work without him), he’s funny yet badass and even intimidating at times, the design’s awesome (a droid with a peg leg? Count me in!), and he’s voiced by Nick Frost  And the punny name is the cherry on top.

Him being left out of the Onyx Cinder was a huge blunder. Our only real chance of getting him now is as a buildable character :shrug_oh_well:

I second that. Skeleton crew is a great, fun adventure.

If this was released after the force awakens, it would have been a huge hit and Onyx Cinders would have flew off the shelves.

Unfortunately being set in the Star Wars universe has become more of handicap than an advantage. Andor is an absolute brilliant show, often named along things like breaking bad, GoT (S1-4), the wire, better call Saul... Yet it doesn't have the same hype despite the huge brand.

I often daydream and wonder what might have been if the sequels were good, like really good.

Just got the Holiday catalogues from local toy stores, besides the Lego pages, there is not a single page dedicated to Star Wars anymore.

Harry Potter, whose last movie was almost 2 decades ago(2007), has  significantly more presence in those catalogues. More doesn't equal better.

It’s been fascinating seeing the reactions towards the recent news of the cancelled Hunt for Ben Solo film. As much as unjustified resurrections aren’t great, I still contemplate how awesome it would have been to see Ben actually living with the consequences of his actions and trying to atone in a post-TRoS galaxy.

Text descriptions for the January wave are starting to leak, hopefully Star Wars ones aren’t far behind! This 100% won’t happen but seeing a set from the Jedi games next year with some of the main characters would be a dream come true for me. Hopefully with the third game we’ll get something.

Don't need to daydream too much thanks to TLJ being a top 3 Star Wars movie

Seconded. Many characters from those games are in my top 50 most wanted SW characters.

That’s very concerning. And I doubt M&G is going to fix this apathy from GA and kids. The core fanbase is back thanks to Andor and the BF2 Resurgence, but I’m starting to think it isn’t enough and that the GA/ casual fans need to be pulled back in with something like Starfighter being good  rather than the Filoni fan service extravaganza which caters to the diehard fans that M&G is currently shaping up to be.

Harry Potter just miffs me. For a theme with a similar number of sets per year it seems to have more remakes in shorter timespans than many SW things.

Same here, maybe even top 15 for me. I just want the Mantis with a full crew and some Purge Troopers with Trilla in Lego form.

I agree that Starfighter will be the event film that hopefully draws in new audiences and injects some hype into the existing fanbase from a cinematic standpoint (with some killer Lego sets too I hope). TMaG still looks and sounds like it should have just been another Disney+ thing, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

I feel like Lego Star Wars could take a few cues from Harry Potter and offer up some non-UCS sets in the £150-£200 price range. The concept of compatible playsets would also work amazingly for locations like Cloud City, the Death Star, Geonosis etc. Saying that, this year’s £140 system sets can’t even go past the 1000 piece mark anymore, though it seems like that may not necessarily be the case next year.

What to do with a heretic such as yourself? Which of Mara’s forms should my judgement be influenced by? Mercy of the Jedi? Cunning of the Smuggler? Or Vengeance of the Emperor’s Hand?

The avatar still needs to center around LEGO SpongeBob. After all, I have to do justice to my username!

  • It needs to be something I can physically take a picture of. As most of you probably know, my collection has a broad range in terms of themes, so plenty of minifigs or accessories to choose from
  • Needless to say, nothing vulgar or otherwise offensive. I don’t wanna be banned over this :laugh_hard:

I present you with 4 options, all of which will set you on the path of repentance:

  1. Jedi SpongeBob and The Aslume Trinity above him: The Man, The Mara and The Dummy (Man can be at very top with the cowl ears cropped out)
  2. Green Lantern versions of SpongeBob, Patrick and Mara Jade on patrol. (Another GL option would be being inspired by the cover of Hal Jordan and the GLC #17)
  3. Pirate SpongeBob and Mara Jade fighting some stormtroopers (in background) while smuggling coaxium or treasure.
  4. Superhero SpongeBob, Mara Jade and Superhero Patrick busting up Mayor Corncob (he has stolen the Lego Tie Avenger schematics, by far his most devious crime) This one would be inspired by that famous Lex Luthor panel from JLA: Earth 2 and could include Dummy as well)

This I can agree on. A imperial base set in this vein would be amazing.

Someone put the Maul Mandalorians vs 332nd troopers on Reddit and it got taken down within 5 minutes *huh* (post is still up but the images are gone)

Even if we can't see them, I'm sad that this destroys the 1% of hope I had that the leakers were wrong about 332nd troopers being included.

Edit: ok someone else has posted just the Mandalorians and they look pretty good. Not sure about the silver visors, but I'm glad it's one male and one female (helmets are switched in the photos), though as I mentioned above I wish it was a mix of 4 Mandos and no clones. I'm slightly disappointed about the male one being the same design as the ones we got in 2013 (I was hoping they'd use a design we hadn't already had), but at least it is updated now with leg printing.

We'll have to see, but I thought the Indiana Jones feeling of the trailer was a good sign. TMAG doesn't need to be peak cinema to draw fans back in, it just needs to be a fun, non-controversial adventure movie that makes the general audience feel a bit less harsh on star wars. (Of course, I still think the best move would have been a complete 3-5 year pause on any live-action content and then doing a KOTOR trilogy, but that was never going to happen.)

Part of that is unlike star wars, which is overflowing with vehicles, 90% of harry potter takes place in one castle and there are, like 2-3 vehicles more casual fans would recognize. But the sets seem to be doing just fine for a franchise that hasn't had any tv or movies for a solid length of time now.

Day Owls, if you will.

(Nite Bats? Death Bats? Death Bats sounds more like something they would call themselves in universe but I think Day Owls is better for the joke)

Mauldalorians look fine for what they are, weird silver visors aside. I find the 332nd trooper leak hilarious as while yeah, sure, the mauldalorians prove that those are probably the ones from the set, anybody could have leaked the 332nd troopers.

It's accurate to the show but it does always irk me that we can barely ever get any red on mandalorian figures. These guys basically just look like gunmetal mandos with a bit of blood on them. Color-wise blue is obviously very saturated in a good number of shades, and we've had a fair bit of green between different Bobas and the female mando from the 2020 pack. The 2020 pack also gave us some orange and yet more blue, and with Mando himself you can make silver/brown ones without much trouble. White is expensive but doable. I really wish we could get a new version of that 2020 pack with some mandos in red, some in yellow, maybe a purple one.
