Perhaps they could take the long legs and have a slip over figure on it to match Beast's figure? I would asume they will just take a normal minifig with the animal legs and for me that would work well enough - sure Beast could look a bit taller than that, but minfigures aren´t really in scale anyways and with a proper moulded head he should still be taller than bella. Jarreth2 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Does anyone else wonder if Axl from Nexo Knights might be a good size. Don't get me wrong I don't mean exactly like him, but his legs are normal legs, so they could use the faun legs, then his armour makes him look like he's a bulky guy, this could work for the beast possibly with some new arms added. Currently watching the Beauty and the Beast vid on Youtube and I was mistaken before, Belle's head comes up to about the Beast's shoulders. I'm getting impatient for a leak for this set 😂😂 Quote
mark1991t Posted February 23 Posted February 23 There's a Pic on Insta (small and a cut out version) from a what is supposed to be the new Beauty and Beast castle. Minifigures for Belle and the Beast (minifigure with a mask like his minidoll) are present as well. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Hope this is real, but it does seem authentic! Beast looks great IMO and the castle apppears to be pretty massive Plus it’s gonna be the best source for lavender pieces ever created, by the looks of it! Quote
mark1991t Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I found the original source, mentioned in that insta-post. Its at Discord. The beast has the tail piece and dual-molded legs. Belle should be the same from the ideas-set. The castle is much more visible in that pic on Discord. Looks like the Walt Disney World Orlando Castle from Beauty and the Beast. Quote
Jarreth2 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) @mark1991t do you have an Insta username please ? Thanks 👍🏼 .. EDIT .. managed to find it .. thanks .. Belle's dress design is slightly different, Beast hmm not bad I guess. Castle looks good so far, flat backed like all the others. Edited February 23 by Jarreth2 Quote
hikouki Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Just saw that leak. Castle looks substantial. Beast looks like something that you can MOC. You can get a British admiral torso and it will look somewhat similar to that print. Although the bespoke Beast print looks better of course. I think this way, it is more economical for Lego to make Beast in classic minifig proportions. All they need is provide an alternate hair and he can be the prince.. LOL I wonder which other characters we will get? Possibly brick-builds of everyone else? Quote
mark1991t Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) For anyone still searching: Jedijacpenguin is one of the Instagram-accounts that has a picture for the batb-castle + 2 minifigs. Edited February 23 by mark1991t Typo fix in the insta name Quote
Black Falcon Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Well, the animal legs would have been better for beast, but I can understand that they didn´t use them to make it easier to switch between human and beast form. Aside from that it looks great. Quote

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gaston again, but the other characters will likely be brick-built, just like their Didney Princess counterparts. Fingers crossed for LeFou and Maurice, but we’ll see how generous they feel Quote

As much as the set looks like a lovely build with all that colour and shaping I've got nowhere to put it (my Disney Castle is taking up half my wardrobe space and I do need the other half for clothes ). So it's probably going to have to be minifigures only for me and seeing as Belle looks to be the sameish as the Magic Of Disney set, that will just leave Beast. Goodness knows what he'll cost though. JeanGreyForever Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Castle looks lovely. Can see some stained glass windows as well. I would have preferred the castle to be more grayish white like in the movie but I can understand why the lavender version from the Disney Parks is considered more marketable. I'm a little disappointed with the Beast. Wish they didn't reuse that rather cartoony minidoll head. I'm glad his legs are dual molded but the brown meant to represent his fur doesn't even match the shade of brown for his head. But looking at it more closely, it's possible those brown legs aren't supposed to represent his fur but the brown boots he wears in human form. The white gloves are weird since he never wears them as a Beast or a prince but I'm assuming that was done so Lego wouldn't have to pick between brown hands for his fur or flesh hands for his human hands. The white gloves are neutral and can work for both his human and Beast forms. Would also have liked some side printing on the legs to show the gold lines on his pants, especially since I doubt we'll be getting many minifigs in this set, so they may as well give extra attention to the few actually in the set. I am excited to see the interior of the set. I hope we get the grand staircase, Belle's bedroom, the West Wing, the library, the ballroom, the kitchen, the dining room, and the room with the fireplace. Also the tower with the dungeons. Quote
Jarreth2 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Lol @BacktoBricks maybe a sprinkling of pixie dust 🪄💫 So I've been looking at the image again this morning as last night it was about 3 am in the UK and I was on my way to sleep when I spotted that there had been a leak .. I was quickly awake and searching for it .. took me a while. Anyhow, it's very 'lavender' ..very, which while I don't dislike it I'm not exactly sure on it either. The castle in the film is not this colour, The ballroom where they dance doesn't look very big at all and although I realise there has been some forced perspective used in the build, this is a little bit strange as I imagined they'd make this a play feature, still could be I suppose. This part is not meant as a dig at the Lego designers and I know they have limitations on what they can and can't do, BUT who decided not to give Beast a new head mould or the digitigrade legs, we know they're still in use as they used them for the Arakocra ranger in D&D. Who was it looked at that design of Beast and thought 'Wow, that's fantastic' or just "Yeah that will do" which I highly doubt Lego designers would do, but wheres the passion and love in that design. Someone commented on a reddit thread that his eyes are looking in two different directions, which I'm inclined to agree with. Sadly .. for me at least .. and I know it's an early leak and we've not seen everything yet .. it's gone from a day one purchase .. to a .. I'll wait and see, perhaps wait for a double points week. EDIT .. @JeanGreyForever I see what you mean about the legs, there could possibly be an 'animal' pair included too ? As you say this pair would be his boots. The gloves too, didn't realise until you pointed it out that he never wears white gloves. Good spot. Again like you said it's to save then having flesh / fur hand options. Even though we all do swap hands out for others, it's kinda frowned upon by Lego. Edited February 23 by Jarreth2 Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 23 Posted February 23 My immediate thought on seeing was that it will be a heavy model! It looks really solid. I wonder how much the interior will match up with the exterior? It feels like it could be similar to 43197 ice palace with only three levels inside (one very small) compared to many levels inside. The windows may well be blocked up inside, which would be a shame, as this is a great candidate for an interior light kit! Looking forward to seeing more. Quote
hikouki Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Just slipping on the Beast head on a minifig makes it look like it has a short neck! LOL If you place a round 1x1 plate on top of the minifig head before slipping it on to it, it gains a bit of height and looks more balanced. Although you get a peek of the fleshie head from the side. But only slightly. I think if the legs are increased just one plate higher, the height is not bad. Quote
The Real Walkers Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Would be lovely if the four key staff characters - Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts and Chip - all got mini figures alongside 'object' versions... feel it's the only chance to get these characters in mini figure form (but highly unlikely). Looking forward to the full reveal! Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 1 hour ago, Aramar said: Do you think Maurice and Philippe will be added? Maurice? Unless they make the staff as both objects and minifigs, I think he's likely. 80%, I'd say. Philippe? Lego's been really allergic to putting horses into sets for some reason - the $400 Lion Knight's Castle only had two, for example. However, based on the lavender colors, they may be trying to go more theme park than movie, so Philippe may not "fit" with that image. I'd only say 20%. Overall - I'm reminded a lot of the Disney 100 Castle. It's very bright and theme park-y, but I just wish it was more grey - I'm not a fan of the colors. Quote
Jarreth2 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Only my opinion but I think Phillipe is going to be a no .. he's a big cart horse, so the regular horse mould I don't think would look quite right. I'm hoping we get object / human form equivalents of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts and Chip, but I'm not 100 % hopeful 🤞🏼 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 23 Posted February 23 If I had to chose between Lefou & Maurice and the human versions of the staff, I‘d pick the former. The latter only appear very briefly at the end, after all Quote
DisneyLego Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Assuming Belle, Beast, Gaston are locks for minifigs, my guess for the others are LeFou, and Maurice. As much as I’d love some human forms of the enchanted objects, it just doesn’t seem likely to me since they only appear for the last few minutes of the movie. I’d actually love some upgraded enchanted objects over their human forms. Maybe the Enchantress??? what’re the chances of a GWP? Quote
Jarreth2 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I never thought about the 'human' staff being in the film for such a short time, might make more sense for them not to appear in the set. As for a GWP .. interesting thought .. there is one with each modular nowadays, there was one with Barad Dur, there's meant to be one coming with Bag End. There wasn't one with either of the Disney Castles, but who knows ? Quote

Maurice with his invention cart would be great..but I don’t think they ever include a minifig with the GWPs, so maybe just his invention cart and basement of inventions. The interior of Gaston’s tavern would be awesome but not sure LEGO would go for that. Hard to think of any castle locations that aren’t already included since a castle that size should have all the rooms covered. You’re right though, it would be a first for Disney getting a GWP with one of their minifig sets but this seems big enough to warrant one and would be in line with their recent choice to include in the larger 18+ sets Edited February 24 by DisneyLego Quote
