I wonder if there’s gonna be bigger version too, like with Simba and the dalmatian before ^^ Always great to see another classic get some love! Since we have minifigure-scale versions of Simba and Patch, I wonder if this means we could get one for Marie as well in a future set. Quote

That's probably more likely for Figaro, since Figaro is Minnie's pet in the classic Mickey shorts. Marie has never had anything to do with Minnie or Daisy so I wouldn't expect her in a Mickey & Friends set. SShe's more likely to appear in something like the Disney Celebration Train which featured characters from different franchises. Quote
hikouki Posted August 3 Posted August 3 With the release of the Wicked minifigs, I am hoping this becomes a trend - Lego releases minifig sets alongside minidoll sets that it releases. I am still grieving for that Maleficent dragon set. Sleeping Beauty still does not have a prince. Quote

I feel Wicked will be an exception based on what a box office success it was, which is also why we're getting those minifigure sets a year after. I don't know about the Lego sales but the regular Wicked merchandise was flying off the shelves and sold out. Lego seemed to realize there was a demand for Wicked sets aimed at collectors and older fans rather than just children. I don't think they feel the same about Disney necessarily. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 11 Posted August 11 We‘re getting 2 more Disney Classic and 3 Pixar sets next year! Both subthemes have a $150 18+ set each. The teaser features a picture of Dug from Up, so the Pixar one could be him ^^ Fingers crossed for new minifigs! Quote
Aramar Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Could the Pixar sets be for Toy Story 5? Or Toy Story sets are their own theme? Quote

OttoRiver Posted August 11 Posted August 11 a $149 Disney classic and $149 Pixar set. I assume this wouldn't be the larger minifigure sets we've been getting in March/April and the price could suggest a larger buildable Marie. Unsure of what the Pixar one would be. A build able Dug? Quote

I'm wishing and hoping for the 'Spirit of Adventure' zeppelin to be the Pixar set. It would only be the second rigid airship we've gotten, and the first in 26 years! (The other being Adventurers set 5956 - Expedition Balloon) Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Huh, I love that we're getting more and more non–Disney Princess sets every year. Pixar ones are always great, hopefully something from my beloved Ratatouille. Quote

Still my favourite Pixar movie to this day, and yet severely lacking in set representation. 43221 doesn‘t count Quote
Aramar Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I'm surprised the Jungle Book doesn't have any Lego representation yet. Maybe one of the classic sets is a jungle temple with Baloo, Mogwli, Bagheera and King Louie. I'm also worried that we haven't heard of any Zootopia sets for this Christmas with the new movie. A police car, the ice cream shop, the police department, the train station or metro train, the rabbit village, Gazelle's concert... There are so many possibilities for Zootopia and not making any set seems like a wasted opportunity. Quote

Also my favourite Pixar movie, and I still can't get over all the beautiful Ideas sets that got rejected. Quote

Not sure if the original is still on shelves or not but I remember it got a lot of promotion and seemed very popular with buyers. I can see it being remade if it's been retired. 5 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: Huh, I love that we're getting more and more non–Disney Princess sets every year. Ratatouille gets so much merchandise by Disney now so it's ludicrous that we still don't have any Lego representation. The Rataouille set on Lego Ideas always meets the 10K quota but always gets rejected for some reason. There's clearly a huge demand for it. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted August 12 Posted August 12 More Pixar sets is a huge win in my book, hopefully at least some of these are system-scale. It actually blows my mind that normal system Toy Story playsets haven’t been a thing since 2010, I guess the 4+ sets somewhat count Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but there's another Lego Disney Princess coming to Disney+ on August 25th, called LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite. It seems to be a sequel to the last one, and once again features a lot of returning voice actors (at a glance I saw Paige O'hara as Belle and Johnathan Freeman as Jafar as being new to this one, and most of the ones from the original were returning). There's also a tease in the trailer for a Chernabog, which will be interesting to see in an official Lego form (and they did a great job with the Maleficent dragon last time). Sir Hiss also appears, which was cool to see. The last one was absolutely a guilty pleasure of mine, so I might give this one a go as well. Seeing how the last movie got a later tie-in set (43205) and the Maleficent dragon may have been a hint towards the later-release Maleficent set, there's a chance we get some kind of Friends set from this, and maybe a chance towards the Chernabog. That may be a stretch, though. Quote

OttoRiver Posted August 18 Posted August 18 With the new leak, I'm going to imagine the $149 is the Slinky Dog Book ends. How odd Lego is putting time into book nooks and book ends but we never got a follow up to the Disney Villain bookends from a few years ago. Quote
BacktoBricks Posted August 18 Posted August 18 So I'm guessing this will be a buildable Slinky dog that splits in two and can be used as bookends with the books between his front and back and then him curled around from head to toe when you put it together as a booknook. A fun concept and probably a good lure for those adults who were kids or teens when Toy Story released and who might get drawn to having a bit of bookcase nostalgia even if they aren't Lego buyers normally. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Yeah, this has to be a set of bookends rather than a book nook Hopefully that means we’ll git him as a “minifig“ too in the TS5 sets since they must‘ve finally sorted out the licensing isues! Quote
Aramar Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Slinky Dog and Mr Potato are the only characters from the original movie that never got minifigures, right? Quote
OttoRiver Posted August 18 Posted August 18 22 minutes ago, Aramar said: Slinky Dog and Mr Potato are the only characters from the original movie that never got minifigures, right? If we don't count Andy and Sid, I would say yes. Although a good point raised is that the book nooks/book ends Lego has been putting out come with minifigures. Do we think Lego will break that trend with Slinky Dog or do we think we could get some figures in the set too? Not sure who they would put with the 30th set still on shelves. Maybe Rex, Hamm, and some Army men to round out the rest of Andy's Toys? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Not a surprise in the slightest, but the set is now confirmed to be the previously rumoured $150 set, and it‘s a set of bookends rather than a book nook ^^ Also, it‘s a spring release. Duh Quote
