I had a solid laugh at the Venomized Wolverine. It’s ridiculous, and it would be better if it were an exclusive in a $400 Oscorp, but I’m not gonna complain that it exists.

Ghost Rider’s Bike at $10 is sweet. It might be a Day 1 buy for me, actually, along with the Rhino vs Spidey 4+ set. After recently acquiring the Daily Bugle, I’ve got the Spidey’s-Villains bug.
It’s interesting to think that the 4+ Spidey set with have a new, albeit simplified, version of Spidey, but the mainline Marvel set will only see yet another blue and red Spidey. It should absolutely exist somewhere in the sub-$50 range, don’t get me wrong, but since the 2025 set reveals, I’ve been itching for something different.

Mechs are there. They don’t offend me one bit, but my range of reaction to these will be from “Ooh, cool, a new 2099 and Doc Ock from the comics!” to “Glad to see good value continue on to these sets.”  (Although, in reality that Doc Ock vs Spidey mech should have at least 4 minifigs to be comparable in value. I think TLG mixed up good value for them with good value for us, and I believe someone outta sit them down and talk them through their confusion.)

Random idea: Could the Doc Ock in the mech be Liv Octavius from Into the Spider-Verse?

Funnily enough, I saw LEGO 76097 today and thought that TLG ought to and could have done Johnny Storm the same way they did Firestorm back then. I’m partial to the all-red look since it aligns better with the very original Human Torch illustrations, but a mixture of classic or tomato soup red with trans-orange could work rather well for the cinematic appearance.

Happy to see the Spider-car is only $20 this time. I paid the full $25 RRP for the Miles/Morb-mobile but then with the other Spider-cars (Petey-car, Cop-car, Venom-car) I got them secondhand without the rest of the set for cheap.  I might end up getting the whole set this time when it hits 20% off.

Yeah, I don't think they use in-story logic when designing these things. Like some time ago we got a Rocket mech, and when it was announced many people said that it would be hilariously appropriate if Rocket's mech were Groot. But no, we got a generic raccoon mech instead. And over at DC we have Superman - Superman! - attacking poor Lex Luthor with a Superman mech when the opposite would make a deal more sense. So basically whichever character the audience likes well enough gets a mech regardless of whether that makes any in-story sense. The bar for getting a symbiote version is, presumably, whether the character is well-known enough and whether the Venomized version would look good.

Anyways, It would be nice if the 18+ $119.99 set was a book nook. I hope we get confirmation of what it is soon, cause I don't know what else it could be besides a book nook given the price and age range for the set.

At that price my guess would be another Final Battle set - either Titan from Infinity War or perhaps Raimi's Spider-man 3 if we are lucky.

Exactly. Hero vehicles sell better than villain ones. This is what the marketing research found, so better or worse, it's what we get.

I agree, I think a classic kirby red torch with the black vertical lines for a face would look awesome.

Top tier post, this is my most-anticipated set of the year so far and the only one I'm 100% buying at full price.

I understand that the hero vehicles sell well even if they don't make sense, but this is two spider-man cars in three years. We don't need this.

 

Daredevil, Moon Knight, Kaine, Luna Snow. If I say it enough, whatever algorithm is producing lego sets now will pick up on it. We know the designers have been on this forum.

I really hope there's enough opportunity for lego with 2 years of D+ MCU content to make a wave 3 of the cmf. Daredevil will have enough superheroes for half of the wave itself but itd be great to get things like Wonderman and Hood if they'll remain in their shows for now

That's what I was referring too. I did count the Balrog as a brick-built fig. ;-) The HP one had two figs as well, the Sherlock Holmes one with five figs seems to be the outlier so far. I guess you could count the Wicked one but that's clearly bookends, not a book nook, and in a completely different style.

They wouldn't put born again characters in the CMF since it's very M-rated.  Honestly with the lowering of disney+ content (and I believe correspondingly low performance of the shows that have come out since), I wouldn't expect another disney+ cmf. I've seen a lot of people say a Doomsday one is likely given how many characters it'll need to include, which I think is very possible, but personally I'm hoping they do classic marvel. I've been over this before, but it would be nice to get all the classic versions of the main avengers.
