Ninjago has a huge Western following, so there's no reason we couldn't have ninjas in ugly Christmas sweaters or a gingerbread temple instead. Actually an AC wouldn't even really have to be Christmas-themed, it could just be the ninjas doing winter activities like skating and building snowmen and the like.

At the end of the day, both Star Wars and GotG have both gotten Christmas specials (even if the holiday was renamed in the rather infamous Star Wars offering). Ninjago hasn’t, and after so many years as one of LEGO’s in-house evergreen themes, I’m assuming there’s multiple reasons why it’s never had an advent calendar before. (One of those reasons probably has to do with the fact that none of LEGO’s more specialized in house themes have gotten advent calendars since they started doing them regularly.)

And none of this really has anything to do with the rumors that Harry Potter won’t have an advent calendar this year.

Fair point. If another theme got a calendar for the very first time this year, you could argue it would replace the HP one (like the MC one replacing the Marvel one and vice versa), but they’ve also introduced new calendars before without sacrificing existing ones (like the Disney one), so such a decision would likely have little to do with HP

City? Friends?

Looking up 2025 sets on Brickset gives me 42 matches for Friends, 50 for City, and 48 for Ninjago. They're all themes with a narrow focus (City is like 99% vehicles these days) but a broad appeal.

We could theoretically create a new one, but only the mods can pin it and transfer comments, so it’d be kinda pointless. Guess we have to wait for @Clone OPatra to return!

Finally got my back ordered Lovegood house this week. A couple of fun things I noticed: 

We’ve finally got a new Quibbler cover print. It’s not super obvious since it’s tucked away in the printing press when the set is built, but there’s a 2x3 tile with a print of the unnumbered edition featuring a large multiheaded caricature (previous Quibbler tiles were always the iconic no. 240274 with the spectraspecs).

It gets zero attention in the shop@home set photos, but there is a specialized tile+sticker to recreate Luna’s painting of her friends on her bedroom ceiling. This was a lovely detail from the books that never made it to the movies since they decided to cut out the part where Luna’s room is visited, so I’m really happy to see it on Lego form. 
 

The clear parts used for the projector feature are printed with the Deathly Hallows symbols, not stickers. It seems like a good fact to put out there since some people were probably worried about how well that play feature would work with their sticker applying abilities (or just stickers in general).

Totally not surprised about the first, as I´ve said it all along, that number could only be a Marvel Calendar (or another Marvel set) but surely not the HP one. That we are not getting a HP one at all is surprising though.

I would say it matters really on the contents of the calendars. This year the best received seemed to be the City and Minecraft ones but we also had years where the City one had leftovers, while HP was gone. Especially to adults the current one probably didn´t offer that much compared to other years, as the ugly sweaters might be fun, but aren´t really usefull for the Castle and other years really offered more with exclusive Figures, like the Carol Ghost or Aberforth, the other minifigs could be easily added to the castle (or Hogsmeade) and the objects could be used for decoration, while this year there were just upscaled builably objects and animals.

The only reason I really see is that they already have two unlicensed calendars and the total number of Calendars is also pretty high already. Till 2011 we had max two calendars each year, 2012 they started with friends and when they introduced the Harry Potter one we already had 4 each year - 2021 Marvel (5), 2024 Disney (6) and I was always surprised that they increased the numbers of those calendars so much as most kids only get one anyways, since they are not exactly cheap. And if we wouldn´t have likely heard about it already I could have seen them skipping HP this year to make a Ninjago one for the anniversary. But as it is they are likely just cutting the number of those calendars down - or we will get another one for any new theme.

He mentioned more specialized themes, so clearly meant themes aside of those. So actually maybe Castle and Pirates would be better to mention here, as Ninjago has taken their places as steady inhouse theme now. @BrickBob Studpantsif those don´t count for you either, how about clickits? ;)

Personally, it’s a ‘finding things later’ thing for me. Year long threads are easier to look through and reference than multiple-year ones, and if nothing else, a change in name to accurately reflect the time period covered would be preferred.

I totally get why people want to have a new thread, it is just that asking here again and again won´t change a thing and actually it gets rather annoying especially if you open the thread to read a discussion about Lego HP and then the only new comment is asking for a 2026 topic - since clone opatra seems to be busy with other things and taking a break of the forum, they should write to another mod. But anyways, since the unread content feature is still broken I am happy if we keep this thread, as this one at least shows up there, while a new one just wouldn´t. Once that is fixed I really don´t care if we get a new thread or use a long-living one like for LotR for instance.

And to not completely be of topic, the minifigures I would expect for the big Hogwarts Modul this year:

Madam Pomfrey (I already mentioned that the only way I couldn´t see her beeing included in the Hospital Wing would be if she is included in the Chamber of Secrets to take care of the petryfied students there), Harry, Ron, Hermione, Bloody Baron, Myrtle, Lockhart, Grabbe, Goyle, Filch, Ginny, Colin Greevy, Justin Finch-Fletchley.

Don´t expect the list to be correct honestly and expecting 12 figures it is one to much anyways, but really depends also on what is displayed in the castle aside from the chamber and the expected bathroom. Could see them omiting even Lockhart since he is already included in another Set and they seem not to make that many doubles aside from the duo and McGonagall.

Characters who are needed or otherwise a given IMO: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Bloody Baron (if the Slytherin Common Room's included, which I do think it will be) OR Myrtle if it's not, Lockhart, Ginny, Tom Riddle. That's 7 (and the basilisk).

Characters who could be included as well: Crabbe and Goyle (but they might as well go with alternate polyjuiced faces for Harry and Ron especially since including only one would be odd and otherwise they'd take two slots), Draco, Pomfrey (no reason for her inclusion other than that she was missing from the Hospital Wing and this seems like something LEGO would do), Filch (and Mrs Norris), any random teacher like Sinistra that we haven't had before (akin to Kettleburn in the Main Tower set), Bloody Baron OR Myrtle (see above), Colin Creevey, Justin Finch-Fletchley, any random student extra (though probably not since we can't even fit all the characters that would make sense AND Penelope Clearwater was in the Hospital Wing).

Honestly a lot of it depends on what exactly the East Wing entails. It's where most of the classrooms are. I expect Lockhart's class to be a given (because Lockhart is needed for the Chamber part anyway, they might as well kill two birds with one stone) but they might still give us another classroom and the corresponding teacher there (possibly even Trelawney whose class was a notable exclusion in the Hospital Wing, even though it should be set in a tower).

Also check out "Hogwarts East Wing prototype" at the usual place, there's someone claiming they have a good idea what the East Wing will look like from the outside. Thoughts?

Agree. At the moment we don't even know how large it will be and so how much locations could accomodate in it.

The prototype is the background image LEGO use in instructions to show where to put sets.

The "usual place" is likely Reddit. Just write "Reddit Hogwarts East Wing prototype" into your browser bar and you should easily find the thread @brickbride refered to.

To me it makes more sense to include Crabbe and Goyle as whole figures, as that won´t eat up much more budget anyways, since you wouldn´t want to have Harry and Ron run around in Slytherin clothes all the time, especially with the Chamber included. Also, I also think they could include two Ghosts in the Set, unless we have to expect another one where either of them would fit in.

Usually Reddit, but could as well be Instagram I guess. Eitherway, all I have found on reddit is an older post that only showed the picture of the instructions, but since we talked about this several times already, I doubt that is the post in question.
