CloneCommando99 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Theoretically, if Lego did decide to do a u-turn on more superman tie in sets. I reckon they could easily design and release a comic-based GL Mech with Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl (using wolverine cowl and D&D bird person’s wings) on short notice. Also it’d make sense as then the 4 main characters of this flagship kids’ comic releasing in the summer would be accessible to kids through cheap mechs. I know I’m just coping. Lego’s dropped the ball so hard from my perspective this year. Turtle was right. Quote

I bet he legally purchases cakes for his friends. (Also did Hawkgirl forget her costume? Unless this is her costume, which would go hard, more superheroes need overalls) Quote
DaredevilFan Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Seems like a new leak for the Black pearl has happened - we know what movie it’s based on and figs. I think Arkham is a September release as well so maybe we’ll get some info soon. Still hoping for comic or BTAS 🤞🏻 Quote
BatDeanj Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Just want to know what it’s based on right now but figs would be nice as well Quote

We still know next to nothing about the Shire and the alleged Beauty and the Beast castle which both come in April (allegedly). But somehow we know which minifigures are in the Star Trek set that comes out Black Friday as well as the GWP for that set and have known for close to a month now. Absolute Batman (it’s peak and #1 is the bestselling comic of 2024) Absolute Wonder Woman (God of War if it was peak) Absolute Superman (#1 is the 3rd bestselling comic of 2024) Action Comics Birds of Prey Green Lantern (if it wasn’t popular they wouldn’t be releasing a 2nd ongoing run on Wednesday, or have done 2 event issues within a 3 month timespan) Justice League Unlimited Superman (Superwoman Lois is amazing) Wonder Woman All these are not only good, but also have had a considerable amount of commercial success. 6 hours ago, Lego Nostalgia said: it has to make money for WB to sign off on making more DCU stuff What if I told you Lanterns and Supergirl are already filming? Likewise for the stop motion of the Dynamic Duo animated movie. Yeah, they've put too much faith in the DCU to be able to abort if Superman flops. Supergirl and Lanterns are filming Peacemaker is already filmed Creature Commandos series 2 has probably already had the voices recorded given how far in advance animation works Given their planned release dates Sgt Rock and Clayface are heavy enough in pre-production they couldn't just be quietly forgotten about, they could start filming before Superman is out. The Robins movie is already filming And potentially the Blue Beetle cartoon as the lead actor claimed it plans to be out 2026, which I would take with a grain of salt but for him to think that at all he has to have at least recorded his lines. That's a lot, and potentially it could go very wrong, I definitely think 2 shows and 3 movies is way too much for 2026 but the interesting thing when put into context here is that aside from Supergirl and the two Gunn shows this lineup seems to be very standalone. Imagining Superman flops my guess is they put out whichever of these are far enough along to keep, and then if they don't do well then pivot to standalone movies mostly about Batman. Quote

Yeah, one of the benefits of making so many super obscure movies/shows is that most of them don't seem to be directly related to stuff like Superman. They can afford some flops without it tarnishing every project. (I mean, if superman doesn't do well it's still essentially over for this iteration of the universe, but it wouldn't necessarily destroy their profits on whatever was already in production.) 1 hour ago, Lego Nostalgia said: I meant stuff like that Harley Quinn Comic IYKYK It physically pains me that something like that made it through production. The fact that some comic writers are degenerates is nothing new, but this is an actual comic they're releasing. Somebody high up approved it. Somebody fairly high-up needs to be fired for approving it. Quote

I've been very clear that I dislike how much power he has with the DCU and that he only seems to be able to make one type of superhero movie/show, but aside from the fact he's- to my knowledge- the head of the DCU, not DC comics, I haven't seen any evidence that he's... someone who would enjoy that comic. (Because let's be clear, it's not "haha potty humor funny", because it's not aimed at little kids. They know what they made and the type of person who'll be buying it.) Like I said, I don't like the guy, but I despise often people mix up disliking someone with "they must be every bad thing because they disagree with me", and I won't fall into that trap. 1 hour ago, CloneCommando99 said: *shaq* Steel 2 when. From my recollection, it was originally supposed to be June, but then leakers said it was delayed. Unfortunately, that means it’ll likely be longer to wait for details and images, but I’m interested to see how it stacks against the Black Pearl, which I believe is also supposed to be releasing in September. EDIT: thebrickreporter posted a few updates about Arkham, said to be sourced from a.clay.brick. This post says that Arkham will indeed be coming out in September, and also that it supposedly has 10-15 minifigures. That last part has me hopeful again. Edited February 15 by Rwbricks Quote

It'll be a $200 batmobile (still the size of the ones that have been $30/48/60 over the last five year) as well as a big facade and some road on a black base. The only included figures will be Batman and Joker (4+ face and hair, jumpsuit with exclusive new torso print) This way whatever we actually get will feel like a win. Quote
