Yup. The Batmobiles must flow.

I think I’d like it a lot better if it still retained his signature armoured mask. Instead of just being Hal with pupils.

That's true, the armored mask would be a lot better.

Exciting news about Brainiac! Maybe we’ll get lucky and Lego will include Superman on the box art for 2027’s Batmobile line.

The 2027 lego DC book is going to include Batman wearing a dark blue suit with a red bat-symbol. (But no superman logo)

Captain Atom is going to have a role

So I’m going to hazard a guess that he may also be in MoT.

I would be hyped for this, but I just can't see him being adapted properly.

With the Soup mech apparently underperforming, I guess it’s curtains for anything that isn’t Batman :snicker: Yeah, I know, this year’s Marvel mechs didn’t do so well either by the same metric, but this does not inspire any faith in the theme regardless

The marvel mechs doing poorly surprised me, the addition of desirable villains alongside the mechs/heroes was great. Bought the Iron Man/Ultron mech day one and Anti-Venom tempted me as well (Though I'm glad I didn't end up getting it since he seems to be lore-accurately trying to fight venom here in terms of release density with 3 in a year.)

List for June is up in the usual place. 3 regular sets, one that’s probably D2C given the 3000+ piece count. Possibly a modular.

Edit: oops, wrong forum. DC isn’t getting anything.

it's not confirmed yet, still under Superheroes

Well yes, but actually no  It’s true they’re not confirmed to be Marvel sets yet, but we already have 4 Batman sets scheduled for next year, so there’s only room for one or two more going by current standards.

I mean. I could kinda see the 3000 piece set being a D2C Batcave for all the Batmobiles.

But LegoMinecraftGoat said on Bricktap that they’re all listed as marvel.

At least we’re starting to get interesting ones that aren’t just Keaton or Bale.

Arkham and Beyond would be awesome.

I understand,  however it's still great to believe that we might get more,  like seriously,  20 year anniversary,  a games that looks like will be a hit, new movie, new TV shows, animated series out and new ones coming.

Based on what though? The anniversary? :snicker: Because looking at this theme’s trajectory, what makes the most sense is to finally bin it :laugh_hard:

The designers for Arkham hinted that the inmate heads and Two Face’s hairpiece weren’t meant as one-off’s. But that may just be wishful thinking on their part rather than anything concrete.

No, hold on, making a big D2C batcave with, let's say 12 figures, and since it's a batcave it has a suit rack and as such the figures are:

Gold Batman suit

Batman

Batfleck suit

Nippleless bat-nipple suit

Pattman suit

TDK suit from the tumbler

Bruce Wayne from the polybag

(New!) Purist Alfred

(New!) Blue/grey Batsuit

(New!) Killer Croc (re-uses head)

(New!) Prisoner two-face (arkham jumpsuit with TDK head and hair)

(New!) Exclusive 20th anniversary golden jonkler

is something that would be totally in-character for lego.

Swap out Killer Croc with Clayface. There’s gotta be one exclusive character locked behind a $400 paywall.

The golden Jonkler, of course. Or we could throw in one of Bruce's doctor friends or Lucius Fox as a purist kitbash to be the exclusive character, if we're following the Shadow Box's precedent.

I really hope the 3000+ piece set (76354) is a D2C Batcave that is comic based.

well some leakers are reporting there all Marvel sets. there is that song that goes ' should have known better' maybe we get more sets towards the back end of the year.

Holy crap this theme is commited to being a disappointment. Kudos to the design team for consistency on that part but like wow hold the applause for all else. What a disheartening line up for the 20th Anniversary of Lego Batman, and the crappy choices weren't even properly executed. Here are some more in depth criticiques of the sets individually:

76331 - I do not feel as though they captured the silhouette of the car adequately at all. The tires in the rear should be larger and encapsulated by armor (?), and the tires in the front just barely reflect the way the tire was covered in the movie. The sides of the car seem to capture the matt color of the vehicle well but the car looks rather dull and the colors fall flat and I have a great idea why. So basically the car manages to have a shimmer irl and not in Lego bc they should have used SNOT techniques to smooth out all those rough edges on the vehicle. Not all Lego cars are blocky, just look at the new BTTF design. Its great. This car is blocky and the roughness of the surface makes it hard to appreciate the gorgeous color this car has. I think the biggest offense was the lack of SNOT techniques but besides that its not terribly accurate either making it harder to sympathize with all its jagged edges. Just an unflattering execution of this vehicle tbh.

76332 - Vaguely accurate but who cares. The 2021 Batman movie was story driven but on a visual level many of the character designs are rather tame for a comic book movie. I truly feel the addition of literally any other character would have complimented this set nicely to keep its enrgy alive as it currently feels kind of dead. I'm thinking Riddler or Catwoman. This is definitely the best set of the wave since its the most accurate to its source material, but it still feels boring since said source material isn't particularly visually striking to begin with.

76333 - I was the most excited for this because I grew up watching classic Batman movies on VHS. I used to love Batman and Robin and have vivid memories of seeing it as a kid. I always wanted Lego to adapt the 80's-90's Batman movies for the longest time. That being said, this is mid. No nipples on the Bat Suit is kind of hilarious because you know good and well a conversation was had in the design room about whether or not to include them. Kind of wish we got a Bat credit card here as well. The figure is otherwise well done but yeah would it kill ya to give him arm printing? Now to the car itself, that blade in the very front is sooo awkward and out of place, yes the car does have a grooved edge down its center in the physicsl design but it does not protrude like that, rather is part of the front bumper section of the car and should be integrated with the build and not sit on the exterior of the bumper. I get that they wanted to create that image of a snowpiercer but this make it look like an addition to the car rather than a built in feature and it bugs me because that central blade should run down a "groove" that runs down the center of the car and I'm just realizing said groove is not included in the Lego build. Sure it would be hard to do but I think they should have at least integrated the snow blades into the front bumper more seamlessly because they look awful out of place as is. Also the Bat signal at the front of the car should basically be touching the floor near the front I mean it should be front and center. Instead it sits awkwardly facing the skylight kind of on top of the front part of the Lego build and its also quite small? Its just really off the mark in terms of that entire front section and the back half isn't really anything to gawk at so I'll just wait a few years down the line till they hopefully remake this but actually do a half decent job next time.

That said it is cool we have an affordable retail set including designs from a classic Batman movie. Just wish they'd include more characters. This is based off a scene in a museum where Freeze and his goons face off against Batman and Robin. It would be nice to have gotten like 5 figs here: Batman, Robin, Mr Freeze and 2 Ice Goons. I say this because each film has such a strong cast it would be a shame to omit most of them.  Ms B Haven, the Ice goons, Freeze, Bane, Ivy, Bane and Ivy in their Gorilla suit disguises, Alfred, Batgirl, Robin, Riddler, Two Face, Sugar, Spice, Two Face goons, not to mention the Red Triangle Gang for the Penguin in Batman returns, or civilian variants for Batgirl, Batman, Robin and Catwoman!! I kind of hate that they are so dedicated to giving us the bare minimum because theres actually sooo much ground to cover both cinematic and comic wise that it feels like we'll never get a fraction of what we could which is disheartening.

tandnbricks has confirmed there is no Marvel modular this year..

The Daily Planet is looking more and more realistic by the day

It’s still unlikely, but that gives me some hope.

They’d probably be looking for ways to bleed minifigs as well. Since only Man, Jonkler, Soup and Billionaire Bald have minifigs.

GL mech with a shared Superman villain like Zod? Reusing Doctor Strange face print of course.

I'm afraid this gives credence to the rumour of a new Helicarrier, rather than it being a DC modular

MY OSCORP NOOOOO

If true it is probably just that it's a different marvel D2C. I can't see us getting two DC modulars back-to-back, especially without any work at all in setting up figures for the daily planet.

Edit: Even if we get a DC modular, I think the Batcave is a lot more likely. They could re-use prints from Arkham. But that's like saying that it's a lot more likely for me to get hit by a bus than by a meteor- one might be a lot more likely than the other, but I don't think either is going to happen.

Well, I think a potential Batcave D2C (or even less likely, the Daily Planet Modular) is looking more and more likely given that Marvel won't be getting a Modular next year. (I'm probably being delusional and we end up getting another D2C Batmobile next year)

We should get 2 D2Cs for Superheroes, One for Marvel, and One for DC. Since Marvel isn't getting a modular next year, you would think that DC should get one.

I think a D2C Batmobile based on The Pattinson-mobile is more likely to be saved for 2027 when The Batman II comes out.

I guess it's possible they do a Wayne Manor or something given the game is coming out

I wish it was the Hall of Justice instead.

I personally think that a Hall of Justice is more likely than a Daily Planet.

I mean, it’d probably be the DC version of the X-Mansion. Seeing how 4 out the 9-10 likely minifigures are already available. Like with Storm and the X-Jet. We have: Batman, Superman, Lex and Jonkler. Like the X-Mansion already having Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops and Rogue ready to go.

That means at minimum all Lego needs to make are: Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Flash (using the Captain America helmet). Then that would still leave 2-3 slots for other heroes or villains (likely Martian Manhunter and another iconic villain like Sinestro, Cheetah or even Star Sapphire based on her DCAU appearance and reusing Batwoman’s cowl.)
